Awesome place. Prices are amazing. Clean and pleasant staff. Easy parking. Great selection of spices a lot less expensive than supermarkets.

Love coming here for last minute items for dinner! Great Mediterranean selection, great prices on fruits and vegetables. And I love their section of bagged fruits, nuts, candies and snack things. As well as a nice variety of cheeses and deli meats too!!!

Not everything is as fresh nor as cheap as they appear. Overall, it has an OK selection for a small store. The store does look kind of run-down and in need of a good renovation. It’s not«dirty” – just oldschool mom n’ pop. The cashiers, especially the older ladies, are kind of curt and simply can’t put on a smile. Honestly, I can’t say I enjoy interacting with them. It’s a convenient place to pick up some reasonably-priced produce in a hurry without driving to Sprouts, Super King, and Mexican/Chinese markets.

Sure, their hours are odd and they only take cash, but you can’t beat George’s prices on spices, nuts, Mediterranean foods and produce. Haven’t tried the deli counter, so I can’t comment on that, but get there early to get the best selection on produce.

Poor store hours, very empty shelves, prices were not even that good save their yellow onions for 39 cents a pound. Not clean, not friendly, not going back.

Excellent produce, excellent prices and the best place to go if you are looking for middle eastern spices that you can’t find anywhere else.

Small store with great prices. My girlfriend and I were waiting for a table at Flappy Jacks one morning and decided to walk over and check it out. We ended up picking up some nice fresh spices and other veggies for great prices, and still had plenty of time before our table was ready. Not a huge selection, not a high end place, but if you want good cheap groceries this is a great place to shop.

Love this place. Super cheap prices for very fresh produce. 3/$ 1 mangos. 1 ½ lbs of nectarines for $ 1. Same price for peaches. Juicy basket of strawberries from Central CA for $ 1.25. Crisp Romaine and Red Leaf Lettuce for $ 0.79/head. I can even get a couple Asian veggies on the cheap at George’s — like daikon and napa cabbage. It’s not fancy and you’re not paying for overhead that will make this place look like Trader Joe’s, Vons, or any other chain supermarket. Biggest gripe: limited hours. Then again, I’m sure that helps keep the prices low. George’s is closed on Sundays. Mondays too, I think. T-F, open 9 – 530. Sat 9 – 5.

Yes, I’m definitely a fan! This is the cheapest place to buy fresh produce in the neighborhood for sure, which was extremely handy for me as a dirt poor APU student who happened to like to cook. And I will be forever grateful for full bags of fruit and vegetables for under 10 bucks! One can complain of the place not being too clean or fancy, but think of it as a necessary entourage of a middle-eastern bazaar(the market is actually run by a Persian family). Now and then I still shop there when I reminisce my school years, or wait for the paycheck to come :)

the place isn’t the biggest, cleanest or nicest but the fruits and vegetables are worth going, plus the prices are great we walked out with two bags full of stuff for only $ 8– great deal!

good prices on fresh produce but i agree with the complaint about the dirty floors. i wash my produce thoroughly but i think they should make it a point to keep the market section also bugs me when places don’t accept credit/debit cards, i find this to not be very consumer friendly. i’ll probably return because they do have fresh affordable produce, a good selection of legumes and i pass by it almost everyday.

oops. I think I stepped on something with 6 legs. Nope, you won’t see me back here again. If the floor can be that dirty, what else could this place be hiding?

An amazing place for produce! It’s a tiny little produce shop(I’ve never been to the deli part) filled with fresh fruit, veggies, and other treats. GREATPRICES!!! Avocados are usually 50 cents each, bananas 49 cents a pound, there are also bags of fruit(apples, tomatoes, etc. for 99 cents). My favorite are the bags of peeled garlic for 99 cents and the freeze dried fruit; very cheap compared to any other produce place or supermarket. They also have great prices on butter, milk, cheeses, etc. Lots of snacky foods like yogurt covered pretzels, freeze dried fruits, and a large assortment of nuts. I’m never going to buy spices or herbs from the supermarket again. Huge bags of nutmeg, garlic powder, anything you ever need for cheap cheap prices! The place is usually crowded(it’s tiny) and the floor is never clean. But the family feel and great prices and quality of the goods make up for anything considered negative. Two more things, they only accept cash and have funky business hours.

I just got home from this joint and this place is amazing! Its a very cheap little market that gives you the feeling that you’re in some far away distant city market, which you kind of are, but you get the idea. I love markets that offer very little in the way of name product brands. Everything I bought that was prepackaged I really studied and read the label over a good few times. This being something that I never do at my name brand market because I’m so already familiar with everything I purchase. Also, there is really fresh great fruits a vegetables. And a crazy(nuts?) selection of nuts and the like. And I hear that all the fresh produce that they don’t sell for that day gets bagged up and sold at reduced prices to make room for the new fresh produce that will be coming in the next day. This makes me very happy. Haha maybe I’ve been a vegetarian for too long. Nonetheless, this market is still worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood.
