History

Established in 1947.

Harry and Mary K. Eyre were farmers here in Howard County, Maryland. Harry’s family had a milk truck route into Baltimore, where he would pick up milk from the local farmers and take it to a processing plant. He decided it would be a lot easier for the passengers to walk on and off the bus, instead of carrying the milk cans to and from the truck. So they founded the business in 1947 with one school bus, transporting the children at the Lisbon school Grades 1 — 12.

The business continued to grow and in 1961 purchased their first used motorcoach, it was a 1939 Aero Coach from Baltimore Motorcoach. Popular destinations were Wildwood, NJ, Atlantic city, NJ and the occasional trip to New York City.

Today the business is in the third generation of leadership, CEO, Ron Eyre and President, Matt Eyre are proud of the family legacy and proud of the company’s great employees.

I would totally recommend Eyre Bus to anyone. My organization is using them to transport a group to a baseball game on 9⁄16 and working with Lanita in the booking department has been so easy. No complaints, can wait to take the trip on Wednesday. If you are in need of transportation contact Eyre Bus.

I would never put my life in the hands of this company after what happened yesterday.
June 10, 2015, around 615 – 630 PM. Driving northbound on US-​29 in Maryland, an Eyre driver almost killed my girlfriend and I. The Eyre driver pulled onto the shoulder of of a merge lane to get around our vehicle even though there wasn’t room for the bus to get into the lane. The driver maintained speed and attempted to force his way into the way. In doing this, the Eyre driver sandwiched our vehicle between the bus and moving highway traffic. I honked the horn repeatedly to get the Eyre driver’s attention, but he kept driving forward with no regard for our safety. I was finally able to pull away and get a safe distance from the reckless driver.

My son was recently on a field trip with his school and presumably left his jacket on the bus.
I had contacted Eyre and spoke to Dave, who was very helpful and while the jacket could not be located, he still took the time to call me to follow up.
A few days ago, I was walking up to my son’s school for the Halloween parade. I saw an Eyre bus pulling out of the parking lot and I thought jokingly to myself that Eyre was probably here to return his jacket, yeah right!
Imagine my pleasant surprise when my son’s teacher handed me his jacket.
Based on this experience alone, I would recommend Eyre since they were so professional and helpful!

I contacted multiple charter/​party bus companies with a pretty last minute price quote request. Eyre’s website has an online request form, and I received an email reply within an hour. LaNita Crews was very helpful in telling me all the information, and helping me set up the reservation all via email.
Eyre was also almost $ 200 cheaper than the other companies we received quotes from. The price we were quoted was the complete total– no additional tax or mileage charges appeared once we booked. The only additional thing was voluntary– a tip for the driver.
We were using their mini-​charter to transport 19 girls to and from a winery for a bachelorette party. Our driver, Tony, was 15 minutes early to our departure location and could not have been better. He was friendly, told us we could have a good time, leave things on the bus if we needed to, and he stayed parked in the parking lot for the afternoon so we had access to hop on and off if we needed to. He also was glad to accommodate the request to «Put on some jams!» for the ride home.
I would highly recommend Eyre. They accommodated us on short notice for a more than fair price, were polite, timely, and the bus itself was clean and comfortable. If you’re having a big group that needs to travel– get everyone to chip in a little and get the bus. It is so much easier and convenient than trying to carpool and drive yourselves.

My Association used Eyre to transport a group of cyclists from Fairfax VA to Pittsburgh to participate in a 6 day charity ride. Our experience was amazing — the bus itself was beautiful and in perfect condition. We were able to relax comfortably and spend the travel time preparing for our event. Roger, our driver, was a great guy and a true professional. He was able to easily adjust as we made some last minute changes to our route and took great care of us. In every aspect, we could not have had a better experience! I hope to be able to use Eyre (and Roger!) again for our ride in 2014.

From the moment I first contacted Eyre Bus the experience was unparalleled. The customer service rep was unbelievably responsive to all of our requests, including last minute changes due to weather. Our bus driver Joe who shuttled our entire wedding party all over greater Baltimore for the ceremony, photos. reception and rides back to the hotel. From the moment we met Joe he was courteous, professional and so much fun to work with. Would recommend Eyre bus to anyone planning a function from wedding to company outing to travel to a remote destination for a group!
