B & W Washer & Dryer Repair

Do you know what really sucks? When you’re 9+ months pregnant and your 5 year old throws up again and again and again… and again. I did about 8 loads of laundry that night and finally saw the advantage of having 2 laundry rooms. The next morning I noticed a leak coming thru the chandelier in our foyer, which is located directly below our upstairs laundry room. Uh oh!
Since we have the 2^nd laundry room in the basement it wouldn’t normally be a big deal to fix right away, but with a baby showing up any minute I’m all about having full use of the laundry room located next to the baby’s room. I think the only time I’ve done laundry more than the disgusting vomiting incident from last weekend was when I had newborns.
My husband called ABT and they said they would come out within 4 days. In the meantime, he shopped around for a faster and more affordable solution… and that’s how he found B&W Washer & Dryer.
Bob managed to make it to my house in the very short window of time I said I’d be home. I was expecting to meet him and then have my nanny stay with him while I ran off to a work meeting, but he literally fixed the issue (something w/​leaking hoses) within 10 minutes. He charged me $ 159, which is a lot for the amount of time, but based on similar types of plumbing services we’ve received in the past I was bracing myself for a much higher bill.
The washer seems to be working at full capacity now and is ready to wash all those baby clothes. We just need a baby. and hopefully no more stomach flus.

I wasted 40 min on the phone with Whirpool only to be given 2 different repair service companies who both had the worst reviews over the past 1.5 years. It seems that these service companies are handed customers from manufacturers and have no interest in actually doing a quality job. Fortunately, I found B&W and within 1 hour of my call, my dryer was fixed and running like new. Yes, that’s what I call service! Obviously, a small, local business is the way to go!

So easy it was criminal. Seriously, I had an appointment with another company, it was 10 days before they could come see our washer. A front loading washer with a leaking door seal isn’t good. So I decided to try B&W… so glad, in barely over a day since first contact, the part was ordered, delivered and installed. Glad I don’t have to wait another week for the other company. Just wish he did range tops, dishwashers, and refrigerators! So basically, yes. quick, courteous service, about what you’d expect for parts cost on a front loader.

He came out in the same day, and he was totally honest about everything. He didn’t try to push a costly repair job and told us that the washer was gone. I really appreciated having an honest tech come out and be upfront. And he even gave me some advice on future purchases.

I will have to say when it comes to appliance repairs I’m a bit lost and a little skittish about finding someone I feel I can trust. I will have to say this guy has my trust. The two times we have used him, he came out to our house on a Sunday (both times) and took care of our problems in relatively short order and everything works great! He seemed to know his stuff and his pricing seemed fair. He also offered a cash discount.

SO this company lost a couple of stars because after reading about how he came the same day I guess that is what I thought would happen! Took an entire day to call me back. OK I understand that you have to order a part. A day lost there. What happened the next day? Don’t know as I never heard from him. Then we could not do the Saturday afternoon when he was available. So I figured Monday but he said he was booked. I don’t know why we had this communication breakdown. I couldn’t get an appointment! So now it’s been 5 days without using a dryer. Well good news was he did come on Monday. Was able to fix the issue in 30 minutes. Honored the price we had agreed on and gave a little extra off. Nice guy just wish the communication was better.
Hope I don’t need my dryer repaired again! Soon the repairs will out cost a new machine!

My dryer had zero heat, so after a week of not being able to do laundry, I turned to Unilocal reviews for help finding appliance repair. Based on B & W’s reviews, I called and I’m so glad I did! I called about 6:45 am hoping to leave a voice mail for when they open first thing at 8am. To my surprise, he answered the phone, took my information, and a few details about my dryer! I don’t know of any other business that actually answers their phone before business hours! :) I assumed I would be waiting till the following week, being it was Friday. But was more than thrilled that he arrived just a few hours later, on the same day. It took him abut 15 minutes to replace the broken parts, and the dryer was up and running with more heat than it had when we first acquired it! His truck was stocked with all the parts, so that eliminated additional days waiting on ordered parts to arrive, like you run into with most other appliance repair companies. Total cost was lower than most and more than fair; especially since now I can spend all weekend catching up on laundry! :)

My dryer stopped heating so I needed it fixed quickly. I turned to Unilocal and the « Unilocal community» was right on target with B&W. Bob came out literally ½ hr. after I called and fixed the dryer in about 15 minutes at a very reasonable price (Abt quote was much higher and they couldn’t come for more than a week!). Very pleased with the quick, thorough, professional service.

I had noticed that my dryer wasn’t doing as designed, I looked in phone book for appliance repair & found B&W. Within an hour, Bob came out.
After explaining my dilemma, he took dryer apart & showed me torn belt & motor which was full of lint and other issues.
He was professional and kind. Thirty minutes later my dryer was working most efficiently. Two weeks later I’m still so pleased.

Bob was at our house within 15 min of calling after smelling gas in the laundry room and finding damp clothes in my dryer. He was polite, helpful, informative, and efficient. Aside from the regular dryer lint removal prior to using the dryer, we did not know that the main dryer vent had to be cleaned and hadn’t done so since we bought our Maytag dryer 13 yrs ago. He also replaced a heating coil for us and gave me helpful tips on washer maintenance.

Bob was able to come to my house the same day I called to request repair for my broken dryer. I work about 10 minutes from home and he said he would call me when he completed the job prior to mine. Didn’t need to miss a day of work. That was great! He arrived when he said. Quickly diagnosed the problem and had my dryer working in about 10 minutes! I’m thrilled to have an appliance repairman that is reliable and I feel I can trust. Definitely will recommend B&W Appliance to my friends.

I contacted B&W when I had a dryer problem after reviewing a few five star Unilocal reviews. My conversation with the person who answered the phone was brief. I explained my situation and the attitude I received was pretty poor — «yeahhhhhhhhhhhh, I don’t work on those». You don’t work on what… dryers?!
I added a few more pleads of desperation trying to explain our dryer and that this could be a nice and easy job (please come help me, my dryer is leaving marks on my clothes because the felt gasket is worn off), he said that working on them ‘Isn’t worth it’. Finally, he said that fixing it could be a few hundred dollars, while buying a new one would not be much more. That one sentence earned him an extra star.
From my experience, it sounds like unless you have a shiny newer electric dryer, just off warranty, that’s easily accessible, then B&W isn’t for you.
Even if my new dryer has a problem, I will not be contacting B&W because of the attitude I received when calling.

Bob was at my house within 20 minutes. He is extremely courteous and honest. Couldn’t be happier. The motor in our dryer had burnt out and he got us up and running in under an hour. Wish there were more companies like B & W

I had a great experience this past wknd. My washer stopped full of water and wet clothes on Saturday. I called B&W on Sunday trying to get someone out on Monday. Turns out they work weekends (including Sunday’s)…Bob was at my house within a couple hours and the problem was fixed within an hour of him showing up. I would recommend them to anyone.

My dryer stopped running in the middle of a load. I called B&W and Bob came to my house in 5 or 10 minutes. He had the dryer running in 5 minutes. I have never had such fast and efficient service. I’m keeping his number handy.
