The coffee here is strong and plentiful. Service was friendly, quick and accommodating of allergies. We were seated quickly even though it was very busy. The sausage seemed homemade and was awesome but the waffles and pancakes… I’m not so sure. They were ok. I was excited to see maple syrup listed on the menu, but disappointed when our meal was served with processed«syrup». I don’t think I’d come back here. The eggs were tasty but a bit cold.

White chocolate chips baked into it with milk chocolate chips with a chocolate drizzle on top. They threw it all on top with no drizzle. Just cause it’s busy dont make a crappy product.

We had pancakes, mini waffles, eggs and turkey bacon. Everything was good and on par, but noting really stood out to me. The bacon was thick, and not crispy, more meaty. The pancakes were fluffy as were the eggs. I think I’d like to try one of the more desert type pancakes or waffles and see if maybe it will be more memorable. The service was friendly and they give discount to ABT employees which is really nice.

Fast friendly service. Had the love potion French toast — I had high expectations, but it was a little bit on the too sweet for me side with the strawberry syrup. It’s a nice go to breakfast spot and we’d visit again since they were so fast(went at 9am on Saturday morning and there was no wait).

Try their reuben sandwich here. $ 9.99 With fries. and fruit Best reuben I ever ate. Very thick and well worth the money. I have eaten here many times with family and no one including me was disappointed. They have a anti-male sign by the toilets though. Not funny.

Came on a Sunday around 10:50. Place was packed. Given the baking time of the apple and German pancakes we wanted, I asked if we could place our orders while waiting so that we could eat shortly after we were seated. The hostess said that would be fine. We were seated in 15 minutes and 1 hour later the food arrived. Not worth the wait. The most amazing part of this dining experience was being asked by the cashier if I wanted to leave a tip. What a joke. Will never come here on Sunday again.

Elly’s is my family’s favorite breakfast place. I always get the Spartan Omelette; my mother always gets the Vegetarian Omelette. Food is great! Quantity of food is great! Service is great! The pricing beats places like Egg Harbor Café and Walker Bros. Pancake House. It’s not like the lower pricing compensates for the food, either. The food is always good! The interior renovations they made are really nice. Their fries are seasoned. So crispy and delicious. I’m not a big french-fries person, but I LOVE their fries.

Elly’s is a fine pancake house, and I’d say about 4 ½ stars. Dining room is clean, sunny, and airy. Quality is good, and prices are reasonable. Service was friendly, attentive, and efficient. The three eating sections were all full but there was no waiting at brunch time on this Good Friday. Wife had the Breakfast Club, #4 with crepes, OJ, sausage and bacon, for $ 8.49. I had the Egg-Citing breakfast for $ 8.79 with 2 eggs, sausage, hash browns, and pancakes. Sausage links were quite large. Despite lots of brunch competition everywhere, we’ll likely be back sometime.

Very good breakfast! We went as a group of 4 on a Sunday around 12. Wait is just as expected on this date and time but food was well worth the wait(it goes by pretty fast) Ordered the Breakfast Club #1 and they give you 2 pancakes, 2 pcs of bacon, a large breakfast sausage, and 2 eggs WITH freshly squeezed orange juice! Will try and come back again before my work trip is over!

I ordered breakfast club number 4– which is two eggs, sausage, bacon, and blueberry crepes(they have banana, blueberry, strawberry). The crepes were just fair. The crêpe itself had nothing inside of it just a pile of blueberries set on top… this is not how you make a crêpe and the cooks should know this. I’ve never ordered a crêpe from a restaurant and had the inside empty. The rest of my meal was fine. And the amount of the two eggs was adequate. I’ve discovered that two eggs is very different from restaurant to restaurant. My friend order the meal skillet and he was very happy with it. We went a little after noon and the restaurant was still moderately busy. Our service was adequate. The waitress Flory was nice and hospitable. We did have to wait for coffee to come around again. We both agree that we would come back to this restaurant again. It was our first visit.

I’ve passed this place a hundred times and never thought to stop in. But today I was over by ABT appliances and they hadn’t opened yet so I was looking for a place to have breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in to find its décor wasn’t the typical food stained carpeting, dark walls and maroon as its predominant color. The place was light, recently decorated and in general had a modern, clean appearance. The food was as good as the finest pancake houses, my coffee cup stayed full and Gloria did a great job of giving the best service possible. Now that I know what this place is like, I’ll make a point to go there, even if I have to drive out of my way to get there.

Overall, good food. Whole family was pleased with what they ordered. They give plenty of fries with their sandwiches, that’s for sure. And the pancakes are great! This sounds unimportant but it can be a deal breaker with the family. I did really like the soup(good size too) with the burger and fries. There’s other places that don’t do soup at all or the soup bowl size is a shot glass. Service was fine. Hostess didn’t understand«five and a high chair». «OH, so, six with a high chair»…No, no, that’s okay. Otherwise, we enjoyed it.

Remodeled recently and the place looks so much nicer. The food is always decent. I’ve been there a number of times for the past 8 years. Service can be disappointing depends on how busy it is and on who is your wait person. A while ago, I just got take out and the guy said under his breath that I should leave a tip! it wasn’t the regular guy behind the counter on weekends, but I don’t see him anymore. Anyway, the last time I ate there with some friends, I had to ask for cream for my coffee from 3 different workers, 4 times in 10 mins before finally getting up to ask. The place wasn’t even full but it was during the Saturday brunch time. I was not happy. Especially in a pancake house, I would expect cream should either be given in a cup without asking or the wait staff should ask if you needed it. I may not go back for a while.

Love, love, love every aspect of this place. Just wish it were closer. If we could walk here, or it were even a short drive and not almost an hour, there would be no need ever again to cook breakfast. As is, once a month or so must do. Look for the Breakfast Club meals. They’re great deals. Bakery on premises. Generously filled, gratis fresh bread basket served with plenty of butter, jellies and jams. Fresh squeezed orange and pink grapefruit juices. Egg dishes cooked in butter. Bangers! Not skinny little sausages– big, fat bangers. Fresh cooked, perfect, smoked bacon. Eggy, almost custardy French toast. Really, truly very good darker roast house coffee. Servers, managers, maitre d’s, ownership are friendly, thoughtful, kind and warm professionals who do their jobs well. Elly’s is our weekend breakfast and brunch Valhalla. They also serve a wide array of lunch items, sandwiches and such, which we have not yet had the pleasure of enjoying. Best as always, Peter O. and S. Note: If you don’t like waiting for a table at a breakfast place during peak hours, don’t even bother. It’s a large restaurant, though we wait about 20 – 30 minutes Saturdays and Sundays between 10:00 a.m. and noon. We view this as a sign of customer appreciation for their quality.

I grew up in Glenview going to Elly’s often. My Grandparents would hit up Elly’s every Saturday morning for breakfast. This past weekend, my adorable and amazing 93 year old Grandma decided she wanted to try them after a long time away. Elly’s still clearly has their regulars as our server was saying hi to many by name. But to us, Elly’s wasn’t what it once was and it came down to service. I thought the food was delicious, came out really quickly and they have a ton of choices of breakfast & lunch items. I went with the Hawaii 5 – 0 Omelette which was way more food than any normal human being could consume! Pineapple bits were inside along with ham & bacon — loved it! My issue was the service. The hostess was eating a lollipop when we walked in and was wayyyyy too casual greeting us & popping it in & out of her mouth. This really seemed unprofessional to me but she did seem like a nice enough girl. Our server also seemed nice enough but there were long periods of time where she would vanish & was nowhere to be found. We weren’t ever checked on and we needed some additional items plus were waiting a long time for our check. When she did come to our table, she would ask one question and speed off before we could get to any follow-up questions. When we left, the hostess was on her cell phone texting or doing something online… looked up to say thank you… and then went back to her cell phone. Again, just seemed way unprofessional to me. So no qualms at all with the food but the concensus of my family upon leaving — Elly’s is a thing of our past and we won’t be going back.

I normally wouldn’t come here as I’m not a big fan of chain restaurants but I needed food quick and was hankering for carbs and bacon. I ordered to go because I wasn’t feeling well. I walked in and noticed they redecorated their restaurant. It was very much needed from the old, «cozy» feeling. The restaurant looks a lot brighter with the new drop lamps without the tacky shades. Now the food: Me: I’d like a bacon waffle with extra bacon with a side order of bacon. Server: laughs and ask if I’m serious Me: serious face. Server: …oh …ok Mmmmm, love me some bacon. Crispy, chopped up bacon in a waffle with a little bit of syrup, and side of crispy bacon. May be important for some: the side order comes with 4 slices. You can’t really mess it up. Just bacon me and I’m happy.

Excellent food just like the Mundelein location. Decors is even better. Had hawaii 5 – 0 omelet it was delish. I even tried fresh squeezed orange juice today and I am not a juice person and loved it.

Ellys is aways a go to place when it comes to brunch! Love coming for the skillets and omelette as they have the originals but also have Greek inspired dishes as well. The staff at this location is friendly and family oriented! Love this place and can’t wait to visit again!
