Business Owner

After years in Business Administration, I needed a change of work atmosphere and decided I’d fulfill my dream of working with animals so returned to school in 1994 to become a groomer. I worked in a shop to increase my skills after school and later opened a home-​based grooming salon. I have changed it to house call to provide more specialized, one-​on-​one grooming and enjoy a closer connection to each pet and their owners.

I have used Pat’s at home grooming service when I can’t get the dog to a groomer to get its nails trimmed. My dog is terrified of getting her nails cut, so it’s helpful not to add the stress of going to the vet or a salon. Pat sometimes uses a tool to file the nails so that the dog doesn’t hear the «snap» sound of the clipper.
I recommended her for our neighbor’s little dog. For a variety of reasons, they had not been able to get their dog to the groomer, and the pooch was quite matted. He’s skittish, and Pat worked wonders with him.
Dapper Dog’s limit for new clients is dogs 30 lbs and under. Pat grooms in your home, not a van, so it’s really great for dogs who do better in their home environment. I give 4 stars rather than 5 stars only because the price is a little higher for home service than for a salon. However, you can’t beat the convenience. With the current price of gas, it’s probably a break-​even on the cost overall.
