Faced with government regulations, the fishermen have had to change and adapt with the times. One Captain’s fleet is strong, but many are stronger. Thus, a coalition of captains who love to fish and want to keep on fishing, have banded together.

A typical tuna trip with Captain Johnny Johnson starts a couple of hours before daylight and ends around dark. We are equipped with the latest state-​of-​the-​art 130 reels and top of the line rods to give every angler the best chance possible to land a giant bluefin tuna. The gear we use with you is the same gear we use daily to fish giant tuna commercially.

The Subdivider is a 38′ Phoenix equipped with a full bath and shower, full kitchen, sleeping quarters for six, heating, and air conditioning. With brand new (2012) 370 Cummins Turbo Diesels, we can travel up to 30 knots to the grounds when necessary. The one thing you can be assured of aboard the Subdivider: we will hunt as hard as we know how to produce a giant bluefin tuna for your trip.
