Great place for people with kids ages 7 and younger! There are quite a few places for the kids to engage in history and sea creatures. It’s not big but will keep the attention of even the smallest child with the «touch tanks».
Great location on the harbor to watch the boats go by before or after your visit.

for my young kids (4 and 6) this was nothing special… they did have the outdoor aquariums with lobsters and starfish that they could touch… but the rest of the museum’s exhibits were really geared to adults. i think this would be a REALLY great place for a couple to explore… especially if into gloucester maritime history and conservation… i will definitely come back with my husband…

I ended up reading an article about the ten places u have to visit on the north shore and this was one of them.
The museum itself is nothing special, but the out aquarium is pretty cool. Really fun for adults and kids, since you can handle the starfish, lobsters, etc. They even had a fish with feet and really sweet sting rays! That was pretty cool, but don’t expect to much more from the museum. think it‘ is being renovated.
Cool location on the harbor near the coast guard. Overall fun place to visit!
