Self-​serve wine-​tasting machines (20 wines to taste anytime, free)! We specialize in small-​production, quality wines that are a great value (and you can try before you buy)! We also have a full-​service cheese, charcuterie, and specialty meats counter, and a store full of gourmet foods, such as custom-​roasted coffee, handmade biscotti, artisinal breads, and craft beers. To enhance your fine wine and gourmet food experience, we have a full array of decanters, stemware, corkscrews, cheeseboards, cheese knives, and books to enjoy. Finally, Savour is the home of Beach Gourmet, which features a Chef’s table, where we enjoy wonderful meals paired with exceptional tasting portions of wine. Beach Gourmet is also a full catering and private chef’s service, under the fine leadership of our very talented Chef, Matt Beach.

History

Established in 2011.

We opened at 24 Washington St. on June 30, 2011 and burned down 10 weeks later, on September 15, 2011. We were closed for 14 months and reopened at our new location, 76 Propsect St., Gloucester, MA 1 930. The new location is almost 3000 square feet, features 20 wines on Napa Technology wine-​tasting machines (complimentary), a full service cheese counter, and lots of samples of great gourmet food itmes to taste every day.

Published «At Eternity’s Gate: the Spiritual Vision of Vincent van Gogh» in 1998

Worked in the food and beverage industry for over 40 years

Worked with Master Chef, Rick Bayless, at Topolobampo in Chicago for 2 years as wine and tequila taster

Operated the catering service, Ambrosia, for 14 years

Taught «Fundamentals of Cooking» for 5 years and 5-​part wine series, «Become a Wine Expert» for 10 years

Became certified with the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2004

Wine Manager of The Cork in Riverside, Illinois, followed by Seabreeze in Gloucester

Opened Savour Wine and Cheese in 2011, at 24 Washington St.

Savour burned down 10 weeks later

Savour reopened in November of 2012 at new location, 76 Prospect St. in Gloucester
