History
Established in 1998.
State of the Art Gallery & Sculpture Garden opened in 1998 in Rocky Neck Art Colony, in Gloucester. Our second gallery State of the Art Gallery II, opened in 2001 adjacent to the Cape Ann Museum. Many artists, both contemporary and deceased are represented in both galleries. Monthly exhibitions with demonstrations in the garden. The downtown Gallery exhibits many of Cape Ann’s collectible artists: William Lester Stevens, Emile Gruppé, Aldro Hibbard, Anthony Thieme, The gallery’s owners, Sharon Pablo and Roger Armstrong, were board members of North Shore Arts Association. All work is original.
Meet the Business Owner
Roger and Sharon A.
Business Owner
Roger Armstrong runs the gallery at 18 Pleasant Street and Sharon Pablo runs the gallery at 4 Wonson Street. Roger does the art appraisals. Both Roger and Sharon served on the Board of Directors of the North Shore Arts Association where Roger was president for three years. Roger also designed Gloucester’s World War II monument. He currently serves on the Gloucester Committee for the Arts, a mayoral appointed position.
