No Service Provided — A Greedy Company Without Business Ethic
I had a very disturbing experience over the Memorial Day Weekend as I tried to go on a reserved All-​Day Deep Sea Fishing trip. The trip was booked as a birthday experience for an avid fisherman who has never experience deep sea fishing.
We stopped by Cap Ann’s Coffee (2 minutes away from the fishing boat place) to purchase a gluten-​free sandwich to go on the trip with us. From our previous email exchange with the fishing company, it was told we needed to bring our own gluten-​free food as the boat trip does not have this option. Our avid fisherman has celiac disease.
As we waited for the sandwich at Cape Ann Coffee, I received a phone call
(6:51am) from Yankee Fleet (the fishing company) to ask if we were coming on the trip. I assured the person over the phone we will be there shortly as we are just waiting for the sandwich. I also explained the celiac disease’s need with gluten
free food again as previously discussed through emails. At 6:56am, I received another call from Yankee Fleet again, the same person over the phone told me this time, «The boat is leaving without you, we already have a full boat.»
We arrived at the Yankee Fleet check-​in at 7:01am, and the older lady
(also the one over the phone) said to me, «The boat left, we don’t wait for
you. You are late (by 1 minute). You were suppose to be here ½ hour early.» Then there was another young lady at the counter, who began to mouth off about policy. At that time, I realized there was nothing more I can say or do, so I indicated to both of them I would like to speak to a manager or the owner of the organization. As I waited for the contact information, the young lady behind the counter continued to mouth off, and as much as I tries to tell her I was done speaking with her about the whole ordeal, she continued on. At one point, the young lady said to me, «What?» in a very confrontational way, and then «Bye» in a very dismissive and rude mannerism
as I was still waiting for the other person to give me the contact information.
After 3 emails and a phone call later over the course of 5 business days on my part, the manager of Yankee Fleet finally got back to me and indicated they won’t provide a refund of $ 136.00.

Had an amazing experience on 5÷30÷16 with Yankee Fleet. Went out for an all day fishing trip and the three of us caught 25+ fish (combined), mostly good size haddock. The staff was excellent (especially the two younger deck hands) and the captain apparently knows what he’s doing judging from the huge success of the whole boat. We were even supposed to have run off from a tropical storm down the coast and they still made it out for the day with no cancellation. Boat was busy, but not too packed. Some of these other reviews mention things that are common with most party boats. Came home and made beer-​battered haddock and fries to end an awesome day out. My brother was up from FL so this trip was big for us. Thank you and your staff for making it so memorable.

My brother is a regular with this firm even though he lives 4 – 5 hours away. I went into the site to buy him a gift cert. and tried twice with an error code coming up both times. I then stopped trying and called them on all 3 numbers available. According to Joanne in the office who I spoke with after a week of waiting, there is someone there all day every day even though they are closed for the season (winter). Got the certificate and my brother is thrilled! TY Yankee Fleet
