Look no further than Brick House on Main Bed & Breakfast in Gnadenhutten, Ohio. Our guests love our rooms, our beds, and our food, and they appreciate the sense of peace our home provides. Since we accept only one reservation at a time, you’ll be our only guests — no noisy neighbors! This also means your breakfast will be tailored to your personal preference and served when you wish to eat — not at the whim of other guests.

We are located near Ohio’s Amish Country; Dennison Depot in Dennison; Warther Carvings in Dover; Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton; KSU Performing Arts Center, Paul Green’s Trumpet in the Land Amphitheater, Harry Cleaver Airport, and Schoenbrunn Village in New Philadelphia; Roscoe Village in Coshocton; Tappan Lake, Atwood Lake, ALIVE Festival, wineries, golf courses, bike & hiking trails.

History

Established in 2012.

«Built-​to-​last» in 1879 by lumber dealer Hezekiah Wardell, Brick House on Main Bed & Breakfast stands as a monument to old-​world craftsmanship. Original floors of oak, pine, and quartersawn oak, plus the original walnut staircase have withstood the test of time — and it was a tough test! During WWII the owner of this house found it difficult to make ends meet. As a result, he raised chickens and turkeys — in the HOUSE, and chicken scratches remain in the floors as evidence. Fortunately for us, the next owners saw the beauty under the «chicken mess». After spending several months cleaning and scrubbing, they made this lovely house their home for the next 50 years.

Current owners, Jim & Cathy Marker, purchased the home in 2005 and worked for the next seven years to make it the beautiful bed and breakfast you see today.

When you’re looking for a bed & breakfast with great food and excellent hospitality, Brick House on Main Bed & Breakfast is sure to fit the bill. Innkeeper/​Owner Cathy has a passion for making her guests feel welcome, and her food is sure to make you want to come back for more. She tells people that the most romantic thing her husband, Jim, has ever done in their 36 years of marriage was finding and restoring this old 1879 home so Cathy could realize her dream of owning a bed and breakfast. Since the B&B’s opening in May, 2012, they have worked together to welcome hundreds of guests from all over the world.
