The Recycled Lamb

Just found this shop — and will be back! Had great deals on mill end roving which fit my project wonderfully.

This is the best fiber shop in the metro area. They have supplies & classes for knitting, crocheting, spinning & weaving supplies. The owner is super-​friendly and so are most of the employees. There’s a comfy couch to sit & knit and even a little area for kiddos to play while you wander around. I’ve tried every shop from Boulder to Parker and this is my favorite!

As a knitter of several years, I rarely swoon over yarn stores anymore. I first visited Recycled Lamb at least 9 – 10 years ago in their former location, which I recall as a bit of a jumble, kind of messy. But in yarn store land, that’s not really unusual either.
Fast forward probably 10+ years, Recycled Lamb had moved from the strip mall location to across the street to an older house. This location is much nicer and the yarn layout is beautiful. There is a big glassed-​in room that I assume is used for classes, as it had a long table with chairs, an office and of course, lots of yarn! There are bookshelves with tons of books, as well as a section for loose patterns, shelves and shelves and cubbies full of yarn, needles and other accessories. At Recycled Lamb, in addition to yarn, they carry the precursor to yarn, roving. You can purchase spinning wheels to spin said roving into yarn and there are looms for weaving too.
The store offers a robust schedule of knitting, weaving and spinning classes, so this is a teaching store. On my last visit in the summer, it appeared they also had a kids’ camp downstairs as well.
This is a fair distance from my house, but if I’m on this side of town, I’ll definitely stop in. This last visit, I came in for sock yarn needles and walked out with sock yarn, a pattern and a knitting pattern book. It’s kinda hard to resist the yarn.

Nice store. They have many types of yarn and string here. There are also patterns, needles and helpful staff. The prices are pretty good for the quality of yarn compared to higher end yarn shops. They also offer a few classes, though I haven’t attended any of them, they seem interesting like knitting sweaters or mittens. Not many places for you to knit there, it’s more of a supply place. Pretty good for being walking distance from my house.

Recycled Lamb is my go-​to yarn and spinning shop. This year, they moved to a beautiful new shop across the street from the old one. It has a lot of space for classes, and they have a huge variety available. It’s also one of the better places in Denver proper to get spinning and weaving supplies. I’ve always found their staff to be very nice and have helped me with projects. They’re making a great effort to encourage the fiber community on the west side of town, and they have a nice selection of yarn and books. Check out the classes — if you want to expand your yarn knowledge, this is a great place to go.

This is a nice little store. My gf wanted to stop in as we passed through Denver. It looks like they used to be in a strip mall across the street. I must say this new location has to be much nicer.
She said the selection was just ok. The store was large but it was mostly looms and class rooms.

Those ladies are just awesome. Since i moved so close, i have picked up knitting a tad. I always go there. The first time i came with my hat almost done, but completely not knowing how to finish it, i went there. The lady took a look at me and said ‘oh oh, somebody needs help. Don’t move’. She finished ringing up, helped me, showed me all the steps, explained etc.
Most of the wools are organic, some are made of weird stuff. Love it.
They have classes, time to knit together, knit at night for charities etc.
Just a GREAT store

The shop is cute and all but I’m finding it very pushy to sell me everything under the sun. My father bought me a spinning wheel, classes, lazy kate, and a bunch of roving for Christmas this year. I was extremely excited to start taking the classes but on the first day I was informed that I needed a book that they had not previously told me that I would need, this book cost more than I could afford at the time. The teacher did not give me the one-​on-​one attention I needed (I’ve never worked with a spinning wheel before so I really needed help), in part I think because I do not have the style wheel she personally prefers. And I’ve found the shop to be very, very pushy about sell, sell, sell, even things I don’t think I need.

Recycled Lamb was recommended to me when I moved here over two years ago. Despite being 20 miles from my house, I felt obligated to check the place out.
Turned out to be quite charming, really. They have a very large selection of patterns and lots of middle-​aged women who are VERY excited about knitting and all that it encompasses. You will have no trouble finding someone to answer questions or offer opinions if you need it. If I lived closer, I’m sure I’d darken their doorstep more often.
