History

Established in 1936.

Huffman Laboratories is a third generation, family owned analytical chemistry laboratory. It was established by Ed Huffman, Sr. in 1936, in the basement of the chemistry building of the University of Colorado. Upon completion of his PhD in chemistry, Ed Sr. moved the business to a small building in Wheat Ridge, CO. His son, Ed Huffman, Jr. grew up and got a PhD in chemistry as well, and took over the family business in 1973. In 1987, Huffman Labs moved to a much larger location in Golden, CO, where it remains today. Ed Jr.‘s son, Bill, also grew up, got his PhD in chemistry, and took over the family business in 2012.

Today, Huffman labs has thousands of customers from all over the world, in a huge variety of industries, academia, and government agencies.
