****WARNING: HIGHPLUTONIUMCONTAMINATION***** Rocky Flats«wildlife refuge» is a former Nuclear Weapons Plant site, and a Federal Superfund Cleanup site they want to someday open to the public. «Clean» means they buried most of the weapons plant infrastructure under 6 feet of soil and called it good. The«wild life refuge» is 4,000 or so acres surrounding the most contaminated 2,000 acres of the superfund site, of which will never be open to the public. Ask yourself, do I really want to hike next to that with my kids, or dogs, or anyone for that matter?! Measurable amounts of PLUTONIUM, up to 40 x’s higher than normal background plutonium levels, were found along Indiana St. per levels tested in 2011 by the Rocky Flats Nuclear Guardianship Group. The dog park next to the wildlife refuge which has been used for years boasts much higher rates of cancer in dogs in their feet and legs where plutonium particles enter the system through microscopic cuts when dogs run or dig in the area. Here’s an article on that to get you started.
Crazier yet– there’s families moving into Candelas development right next to the wild life refuge who are choosing to ignore the facts. I just feel sorry for the kids who don’t have a choice because their parents made the wrong move. Survival of the fittest I guess…

It is unknown, if or when this area will open to the public. However, if it ever does open, BEWARE. This area is know to contain particles of Plutonium from the Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant. The plant is now gone but the danger remains. Don’t trust me… do you’re own research. I strongly urge you to stay away.
