Better Days Yoga

I have been doing yoga 3 months now and it kicked off with an immersion trip to costa rica to quiet the inner voices that were driving me nuts. Upon my return I wanted to keep the peace in my head and this place along with Natalie’s classes are just what I need. I love her classes. The have the perfect blend of challenge, spirituality, meditation, fun, balance and sweatiness (word?). I tried Core power (eh.not for me) and Divinitree downtown was great (parking-​eh.) but living in Goleta this place is the best I have found. Highly recommend her classes. They are great– i look forward to them all day.

Love this studio. Natalie is great! Whenever I come to SB I make sure to stop by.

FIRST IMPRESSION & CLASS
Upon walking in and signing-​in (booked class via their online service), waiting with the other girls waiting for class. The receptionist/​an instructor (maybe?) came up front, did not greet anyone and just looked over the list. A bit off-​putting. Class was scheduled for 1130, we were not allowed into the studio until 5 minutes past with no explanation.
The class, aerial yoga, itself made up for the lack of customer service upfront. The instructor (a different woman, named Natalie) demonstrated everything and was hands on with ensuring everyone received full benefit from the class. I fully enjoyed the hour class; provides a great stretch and is mentally relaxing. The aerial aspect amazing to try. Class was slow paced but allowed for a deep stretch in all poses (hmm, wonder if it’s still called that while you are suspended from a cloth in air). Not great as an actual work-​out in my opinion (I am more into weight lifting and dreaded cardio) however a nice 1x a week addition.

I have been sticking to my 1x a week routine of coming to Better Days Yoga. It’s a great stretch and stress reliever plus fun to hang out in the air for an hour each week!
Natalie is the only teacher I’ve experienced but I love her teaching style and attitude, it’s what’s kept me coming back. Til next week BDY!

This is a great little studio. I was really happy when I saw that a yoga studio opened up in Goleta as I work at UCSB and it’s really hard for me to make it to the after-​work classes at downtown studios. They offer a lot of different classes for all levels and I like that the studio is roomy enough that you aren’t constantly trying to avoid touching your neighbor. I bought a groupon for unlimited classes for a month and went at least twice a week and am hoping to get back there soon.

This is a warm, welcoming studio with some excellent instructors. I have found some other yoga studios to be intimidating but that is not the case here. Being older, I modify some postures and every teacher, without fail, has been supportive and encouraging. Natalie Sampila, the owner, is an amazing teacher and she is enthusiastic about offering a variety of classes to meet almost everyone’s needs. Kim DiLoreto teaches a wonderful slow flow class. And as a plus, parking is close, easy and free!

Wonderful little studio with many kind and experienced teachers! It is a very new business and I think they are working out a few kinks, but I’m sure they will be successful. The 10-​pack groupon brought me in and I’m really enjoying the variety or classes that range from gentle yoga to great, invigorating sessions.
Everyone is serene, inspired and positive! I would definitely recommend this place if you live in Goleta!

I was overjoyed at having a yoga studio move to our neighborhood! And even better when they also offer an INCREDIBLE Mat Pilates class twice per week. I was hooked at the very first class– Stephanie Hong, the teacher, is all you would want in an instructor and mentor– she embodies what she does, loves the magic of the body passionately, and is engaging and most of all, encouraging. She knows all her student’s names and one feels welcomed, appreciated and respected. I am NOT in very good shape, but she is gentle and paces for everyone, and I am confident that with her help I will get there. Cant say enough good things! Try it, you’ll be glad you did!

I walk by BDY nearly every day and was looking forward to its opening. It was a Groupon that brought me in for the first time and I have been taking classes weekly now for over a month. I find it a little bit unfair to leave a review of a very new business because they are still in the «start-​up» phase, so please take my comments with that in mind!
This is a single-​studio facility so there is only one class possible at a time. The studio itself is nice and roomy. They provide everything you need… mats, blankets, blocks, straps…
I, personally, am looking for a facility that will meet both of my needs… yoga/​stretching AS WELL AS cardio. As of now there is just one cardio class, a Thursday lunchtime Nia class… which I attend every week and REALLY enjoy. But, I really need a second cardio class in my week and wish that they would add something so that BDY can me my one-​stop-​shop for exercise.
They are currently working out their memberships and single-​class or multi-​class cards. If there current costs were just for me to take a single class a week then I would find it to be too much for my budget since I would still have to supplement with more cardio/​dance somewhere else.
On the flip side… if someone just wants to do yoga every day… morning or evening… then BDY would be perfect for them. So, this is kind of a personal choice. I realize that they are primarily a yoga studio and pretty excellent for that, so I might just be having to go elsewhere when my 20 classes are up.
I hope not, though!
