Bob’s Vacuum

I love it when a business makes something easy for you. My mother-​in-​law gave me a Miele vacuum from Bob’s for Christmas last year. (I know– nice, right?!) Last week, the brush attachment that I use daily broke off, beyond repair. I took a picture of the part I needed and went into Bob’s to purchase a replacement. I was expecting it to be pricey since Miele is a pretty high end brand. I was informed that if she bought the vacuum there, they extend the warranty to 2 years! (Miele has a 1 yr warranty.) I didn’t have a receipt or the part with me. They looked up the purchase in their system and handed me a new brush, just like that! It was so quick and easy that my kids didn’t even have time to complain or get into any trouble! I love being pleasantly surprised like that!

I had a great experience with Bob’s Vacuum. I brought my Kenmore cannister in because the motorized brush wasn’t working. Robert explained that they could give me a free estimate and at that time, I could choose to go ahead with the repair or not. I had nothing to lose. I went ahead and 2 days later I get a call telling me what the problem was and that it would only cost $ 20 to repair. I got the vacuum back and it’s working perfectly. These guys are good, ethical and very knowledgeable. When it’s time, I will strongly consider buying a new vacuum from them.

After burning thru 5 high-​end vacuums my husband & I needed a vacuum that really does what it is suppose to do ! We decided that we would give Bob’s vacuum a try. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a highly professional sales person by the name of Scott who gave us one on one help start to finish. Scott not only took the time to find out what our needs where in a vacuum but also what we did not like in the ones in our past. He was certain that our best vacuum purchase was going to happen that day. When we narrowed down the field of choices he then made sure we saw & understood each feature and as well showed us how all attachments work. I appreciated that part because in vacuums of our past I have come home wondering how the heck to use them as they never seemed as easy to attach as the sales person showed.
That did not happen with our choice, it easy to use and does an amazing job ! We settled on the MIELE C3 with a poser nozzle & deluxe tools, by far the BEST vacuum we have ever used! The moment we turned on that vacuum it went to work BIG TIME ! I have used ALL attachments with ease and I am now certain this is the LAST vacuum we will have ever purchased ! We greatly appreciated the helpful low pressure customer service of Scott and know that if we ever have any questions Bob’s vacuum & service will be there to help us out.

Great experience! Went in one day with mechanical problems I couldn’t solve. Patiently explained the problem and said basic maintenance (new belt, oiling, etc) would be less than $ 50. Called same day that it was ready and it cost me $ 42 with new bag installed and new belt. Even offered to carry to car for me! Great service and reasonable price! Now works like new!!!

The people on here recommending are exemplars of why Unilocal is soooo unreliable. They are all douche bags who have no NO breadth of experience.
Bob’s is spectacular. I needed our Eureka in working order before I left town. They had it done within an hour, called me and I picked it up. No that I’ll admit is probably unusual, but it did happen.
These guys are an established business and will do whatever they can to help you. Sometimes it takes awhile to get parts for the myriad vacuum cleaners out there. Get over it. God you people do whine!

Terrible service! We stopped by because we want to install a central vac system in our house. Set up an appointment the following week with Mike. He did not show up. Will use another local business.

Read Unilocal reviews despite how bad they were I hoped I would have a good experience. My vacuum only needed a new belt. The guy at the counter said he was not sure if they had them, and needed to keep my vacuum for a week.
I called Dusty’s vacuum repair she not only picked up my vacuum from my house, but delivered it to me the next day for $ 20 to change the belt total price.
There is a Unilocal comment by owners about not paying for Unilocal ads. This is not why you are getting bad reviews it is simply how you operate your business.

Recently we took our Dyson to Bob’s and they contacted the company, ordered the parts and our vacuum is better than new. Dyson has a wonderful warranty program and it is so nice to have a local business to repair our appliances. Thank you Bob’s Vacuum.

I have used Bob’s twice now to repair my vacuum. I do it my self, because everyone should be able to do that. Vacuums consist of a motor that sucks and a vessel that contains. Take it apart and clean it!!!
The service is not normal. And I mean that in a semi nice way. Old Bob is forgetful. I call and ask for a part. He says, «I’ll call you back.» But he never does even though he takes your number. So I drive over and say hey. These are my parts. And they scratch their heads and look up part numbers forever. Then they say it will be a special order.
Ok. Order that part and I’ll be back.
Don’t leave your vacuum there. You can fix it yourself. Call your son, uncle or nephew before you let them. Or call me ;)

Took a Dyson here. After two weeks they call and say replacement head is needed from manufacturer and we must call to order. After following on line directions the rollers just needed to be cleaned and vacuum now works fine. Bob’s obviously never even looked at it!

Don’t take a dysen here. He doesn’t like them. Brought ours in Feb 23. Called him April 4. He said he was waiting for parts and was gonna b around $ 150 to fix. Another later call back this time says its gonna cost $ 270,because it a new bottom assembly. We decline repair bring it home, go through it ourselves and find a missing screw for the release lever. $ 8 part. 15 minutes to fix.

So sad that the only vac store in town is so poorly managed. Terrible business ethics. After several transactions, they have failed to complete work properly or on time, yet. They promise, but never deliver. Rude customer service, too. They may be your only choice in town, but do not trust them or take them at their word.

Well, I hate my vacuum, but that’s not the fault of Bob’s Vacuum on Calle Real in Goleta. The first time I took it in for repair, they told me they completely understood why I hated it: it’s «bagless» and it’s heavy. But, sadly, it’s mine. So they fixed it and I took it home. Months later, there I am, schlepping the hated vacuum into Bob’s Vacuum once again. «I hate my vacuum — it doesn’t suck, and not in a good way.» Marc, my vacuum specialist guy, asked me if I’d heard that joke in Bob’s Vacuum. (No…I made it up.) Anyway, he told me my vacuum was, unfortunately, «bagless» and very heavy. But he could fix it. And if he couldn’t, he’d sell me another one, used yet fabulous. I believed him. He is, after all, my vacuum specialist guy from Bob’s Vacuum in Goleta. (And I trust them with all my heart — because, it’s all true: my vacuum is bagless, way too heavy… and it sucks.
And not in a good way.

I took my vacuum in to have a part repaired/​replaced. They said they’d call in a day or two. When I called THEM a week later, they said they couldn’t find it. Two days later when I called again, they found it and said they had to order the part. OK, so do it! Three weeks later when I called THEM they had not ordered the part, said they couldn’t find the paperwork, and didn’t know when they would have a chance to look into it. A month later I am in the same place I was. HORRIBLE customer service! I will NEVER go there again.
