CBC and The Sweeps Apartments

Horrible the parking in Lisa vista is bad but with management double booking parking for friend and not giving any for there tenants is worst!!! Honestly one parking per unit makes sense to anyone but them!!!

In terms of staff and community amenities, everything has been acceptable. However, when my sink got clogged and I put in a maintenance request, I still have yet to receive a response. It has been 5 days and it appears there is sewage going up the drain… The sink went from a small clog to a putrid smelling, black mess. Personally, I found this highly disappointing, given that I have called them multiple times and even gone to their office.
As for people considering living here, I would recommend that you beware of very slow maintenance responses and thus, consider somewhere that actually responds…

I love living here! I found some of my best friends around here thanks to Eddie ! I’m excited for the new year ahead with him as the property manager. Anthony, Ben, James and Jose are an amazing crew, everyone around here has big smiles and bigger hearts! I consider myself lucky to live and work alongside these gentlemen, and I couldn’t think of a better place to call home than CBC and the Sweeps !

This place has a homey vibe and is spacious and updated. I always got compliments from friends on the amount of room I had. Maintenance is really on top of their stuff. JAMES FROM MAINTENANCE IS AWESOME!!! I wouldn’t mind renewing my lease with them if they didn’t try to hike up rent and we didn’t have roommate issues. Management used to be really bad when Christina was running the show, it’s better now that she is no longer here. I did get charged for all the rent once instead of my portion and they had to reimburse me, but they got that kink fixed by taking out the automatic payments.

I came to UCSB as an EAP student from South Africa and lived at The Sweeps for a year. I really enjoyed my time living at The Sweeps. The town homes can fit up to 5 people, with 2 bedrooms. It’s the perfect size to share with a group of friends. I arranged for the town home to be furnished which was very convenient for an international student. It saved me the hassle of buying my own furniture. Of course this comes at an additional price, however, it was worth it in the long run, and everything was set up for me when I moved in. The location is perfect — a short bike ride to the heart of IV and campus, a few blocks walking distance from Del Playa and the beach, and there are bus stops right outside The Sweeps that will take you downtown and to SBCC. It’s a great location that allows you to be close enough to the party scene on the weekends, but you also have the comfort knowing that you have a safe, quieter place to come home to. The property is run by a great management team who are very accommodating, professional, and knowledgeable. They have been working with students for a long time and will cater to all your needs the best they can. The maintenance staff are super cool, and do get work orders done quickly. The property has lawn spaces where you can hang out with friends and bbq. The property team do their best to make your living environment enjoyable and do throw events such as movie nights with free food! Additionally, CBC has a pool that is great for the summer. I would highly recommend living here!

So ive been living here for a month and i absolutely love it, the rooms are spacious and are fairly priced (for IV that is lol) and all the staff are friendly and super helpful ! Shoutout to audrey, eddie, jose, TONY !!! And the other gentleman who do the maintenance are awesome ! Most places in IV are pretty low end, but the sweeps is very good for what you pay for. Im probably going to renew my lease because i couldnt be happier !

The staff is cool but maintenance is slow, they don’t do thorough background checks on residents and I’ll tell you right now. I know a few residents with a extensive police record and there has been a few SWAT raids in the complex. I see undercover cops scoping out the parking lot from time to time. I’ll honestly say I don’t feel at home or safe here. Sweeps may have been good in the past but from living here so far I would not recommend it.

The worst apartment ever!!! Manager has a rude altitude. Very poor lighting. Loud noise at 5 or 6 am everyday! Can feel the whole building shaking when someone run. Don’t live here! Believe me, u can find better apartment with less cost.

Don’t live here, just don’t! My internet account was under the manager’s name, yet she does not pay for my bill, so my internet service was interrupted, and I can’t even pay from my own pocket. Also, the apartment is way over priced. The walls are so thin that you can hear the neighbor giggle during the middle of the night. And some of the plug seats don’t even work. After I moved in I found the heater is broken, at least this time i went to the office, they called someone to fix it. Shitty apartment, one of the worst experience. If you are thinking about living here, cross that off your list!

Stay away from CBC! Ask management about all the HOME INVASIONS that happened, one with a machete! There are much safer and better maintained and less expensive places in IV.

All of the livliness of the Isla Vista lifestyle with none of the drama. Come live at the Sweeps if you want to be a bike-​ride away from school and outside of the lively IV scene. A five minute walk to shops and downtown IV leaves you just far enough out of the bustling scene to make study time more feasible. But just close enough to get in the mix, if you want.
It’s a great little community of an ever rotating and diverse mix of US and foreign students that any-​year student will enjoy. There is a disc-​golf course nearby as well!
There are few units of non-​college students, but that’s not to say it isn’t for non-​students. If you don’t mind the chance that weekends may offer a little more excitement or that finals week may look like a ghost town, then you may love living at The Sweeps. Quick access to the 101 and 5 minutes from UCSB. Large living spaces and updated amenities make the creature comforts of The Sweeps feel like home.
Come join the close-​knit and friendly IV lifestyle that makes UCSB an amazingly fun school to attend.

Just moved into The Sweeps in August and couldn’t be happier. Everyone is really respectful of noise and the staff is great. Eddie, the property manager, really does a great job at getting to know the tenants and keeping everyone safe and satistied with our homes! Love him. Anytime something is broken you put in a work order and it’s fixed within 3 – 4 days.
Downside, a little far from Del Playa but you always get a good nights sleep and it’s only about 4 blocks down Camino Del Sur!
Great place to live to enjoy the party scene and come back to a quiet home.

A decent experience here — all of the apartments here are set up as split-​level townhouse style with the first floor having a half bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and living room. The upstairs had a full bathroom and two bedrooms.
Also, it is nice that they do have their own parking lot for the residents which can be a rare thing in IV. Usually, you’re left to your own accord parking on the streets. Chimney Sweeps is a good option if you’re looking for off-​campus housin and further away from the DP party scene at a mid-​price range.
