Super 8 Motel

One star is way too much for this poor excuse for a hotel. I paid $ 150 a night thinking I got a deal. What I got instead was ripped off. Never again will I try the name your own price on Priceline. I feel like my wallet got raped. Don’t stay here, not even if it’s your last resort. Do yourself a favor pay a little more and get something that’s worth the money. This place is not worth $ 150 a night. At most $ 50 a night but definitely not $ 150 don’t stay here!!! Did I say don’t stay here yet? Well just don’t do it, trust me you’ll be sorry. By the way don’t stay here this place sucks!!!

This is not a fancy hotel but very clean. Nicely located, very quiet at night. The sheets and towels are very clean. No bathtub but very clean bathroom. It has hot shower and comfortable bed. Waffle in the morning is very nice. After all nothing wrong with it. Very reasonable price too.

WE stayed at the Super 8 Motel in Goleta. Easy to find. We found the room very clean and comfortable. Great staff. Great morning Breakfast. Would recommend.

Horrible! Website does not depict rooms at all. This is a cheap hotel, that’s not cheap! Room was grungy and extremely outdated. Carpets from the 60’s, a tiny moldy pink tiled shower that makes you wish you brought disposable sandals… the only thing new or updated in this room was the television and a oversized black and white beach photo on the wall. No hot tub, the swimming pool was located across the street attached to the backside of a jiffy lube. We had to leave no more then 10 minutes after we checked in due to a family emergency. The hotel refused to refund us for the stay, total bs! Needless to say that was the most expensive bar of soap in existence.

Nice people just seemed too old for the ‘discounted’ price we paid. I would not go back.

The internet has been extremely poor for a week now and no one seems to be doing anything about it. Clean-​ish room with a musty smell. For 100+ dollars, you are getting less than you pay for, but your affordable options in the Santa Barbara area are limited. My room is very small but has a desk, small table, tv, closet, drawers, and a hair dryer.

this was my first time staying in a super 8 motel and as you would already expect there is nothing super about it. I wont be naïve and compare it to an average hotel however it still just gave me bad vibes. The instant i walked in i was too scared to touch anything because everything looked dirty. I also saw a couple of ants coming out of my sink. Lastly, you would think simple amenities such as an iron would be available even in motels. After this experience i will never stay in another motel again. I have absolutlely no idea what the other reviewers saw in this place. yuck.

We spent the weekend in Santa Barbara a few months back and this was the only place in our price range for the night. We booked it, but when we got there, the computer system was down and people were being turned away. Luckily, we were still able to get our room.
Nothing special. Nothing fancy. It has a bed and bathroom. But it’s clean and cockroach free. Important stuff.
It’s close enough to Santa Barbara without having to pay the crazy prices and located close to the UCSB campus.
I would prefer something nicer (I’m a fan of the Hilton line) but the boyfriend prefers the affordable. This was our compromise location.
Not a terrible experience, but you get what you paid for.

After reading the reviews prior to checking in I have to admit I was a little nervous to stay here. But now looking back on my stay, the reviews appear to be unfair. Of course this hotel isn’t going to be a high end hotel room… but for the price it was, it was great.
My main concern was the cleanliness which thankfully was close to immaculate. The beds were very clean and I was happy that there were wood floors and no carpet. The shower was small but clean, and there was a coffee pot and flat screen inside the room.
Parking was convenient, and the staff was very nice.
If you’re looking for a super high end extravagant hotel you probably won’t want to book your stay here. If you’re looking for a clean, convenient, and reasonably price stay however, I would definitely recommend the Super 8 Goleta.

Would’ve been a tolerable stay due to the friendly staff but I ended up getting BED BUGS and taking them home with me after this weekend. Big, disgusting mess. Makes me wonder how filthy that mattress was. Do not recommend.

This was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I spend between 40 – 50 nights a year in hotels. I’ve seen all types, but have NEVER experienced anything like this. The only thing that could have made it worse was if there was hookers or crackheads hanging around (luckily, there weren’t)
Parking Lot — Apparently, there was street construction going on during the night. As a result, it appeared that the hotel allowed all the construction workers to park their cars in the hotel parking lot. So, there were barely enough spaces for actual hotel guests. To top that off, the parking lot was very sketchy. I was worried the entire night that someone might break into my car. No security to speak of.
Room — The room was made up but not clean. There were stains all over the carpet and the cushions on the chairs had God knows what kind of stains on them as well. I don’t even want to know when the last time the bedspread was washed. When taking a shower, the water temperature would constantly fluctuate between ice cold and scalding hot. The air conditioning unit in the room was exceptionally loud. In a way that was a good thing as it drowned out the sound of the construction work. The WIFI signal was so-​so. I’ve had worse. The curtain did not completely cover the window either.
Breakfast — Not exactly a continental breakfast. It was more akin to a convenience store spread.
I paid $ 129 for my room. Even if it was $ 100 less, it would not be worth it. There was no mention upon booking about all the construction that was happening. The hotels solution was to provide ear plugs at check in. If I would have arrived at the hotel earlier, I would have looked for another hotel in the area, even if it meant that I had to pay the cancellation.

I only needed a room for one night so I thought I would just stay here. I paid $ 119 for a queen size bed (smoking, I don’t smoke). I didn’t even get into the room. The location was questionable, and the people who were staying there made me (a young woman) feel extremely uncomfortable to be staying there alone. I got cat called twice. I turned in my key 10 minutes later and couldn’t get a refund. I was okay with that, just know that I am never going there again.

We stayed here while visiting solvang.
The place had really bad reviews, but we just wanted to sleep for the night and this place was perfect for that.
The room was fine– what you would expect from a motel, and the price was fine too.
In fact on our way out from this place, we also tried some fruits from the trees in the courtyard, and the owner was generous to let us have those.

Excellent Value for the money — and it follows my motto when traveling; be spartan whenever possible. It has a bed, shower, reasonable internet, near the airport, decent size parking lot, near a couple convenience markets, a few fast foods places, casual restaurants, and a couple grocery stores all within walking distance.
What more can you ask for? When I’m traveling, I’m traveling to work or to play; I have no intention of living in the room of where I sleep and shower.

Elevator broken, ice only out by the pool. Room outdated.
We called earlier in the day and the clerk clearly stated rates were 72/​night. When I asked if I could book one, she said «there are plenty open you won’t need to». When I get there late night clerk was a complete ass. He had no business being in customer service. He told us his cheapest room was $ 119 and it wad the last one available. We took the room out of necessity and need for sleep. But better hotels around for that price on expedia. The next morning the front desk clerk Gabriela corrected the problem but told us «we never have that rate, our cheapest is 99/​night» but she corrected the price to 72 fairly quickly, which was what got them 2 stars. But the place did reek of a scam of sorts. Whether it was her covering for the late night moron, or something else going on, one will never know. But get a name and force a reservation to avoid problems. These hotel rooms should never be above $ 80 for as dumpy as the place is.

Not terribly impressed. Price was fairly high for what we got. Wireless internet wasn’t working throughout our stay, and nobody was available to even try to fix it. Continental breakfast also left a great deal to be desired.
It is fairly near the UCSB campus, which is helpful if you’re visiting. Just don’t expect much.

Had a great stay at the Super 8 and would definetly stay there again. I am a UCSB alum and my son is currently a student and we are in SB a lot. We have stayed both high end and mid end depending on what we are doing and how high the rates are.
Is this a five star resort with an ocean view? No, but you aren’t being charged that rate either. Then again, parking and WFii are completely free… unheard of at the fancier properties!
My reservations were no hassle and accurate. I arrived and was greeted warmly by Jon. They have free parking and easy access to your room. The room is not large and is an older room but it was spotless. The entire property is very clean. I was on line in a few easy minutes… and for free! The bed was comfortable, linens fine, pillow fine, shower (no bath tub) clean with strong showerhead and plenty of hot water.
They have a great practical location… close to shopping and freeway. Freeway noise did not keep me up at night.
Didn’t try breakfast but loved that they have in room coffee maker.
Great no frills place, very nice employees.

This is a basic, nothing fancy motel. I booked through
because I needed a cheap place to stay for a wedding in SB. Helpful staff, small but clean room, decent bed– good for the price. I really don’t have anything bad to say about it. I recommend it if you just need a roof over your head for a couple of days.

I don’t understand why this place has such bad reviews. I stayed here while I went to UCSB orientation in the 3-​bed room. The beds weren’t uncomfortable. The wi-​fi worked and it was fast. The shower was satisfying. The breakfast got the job done. The lady who we talked to when we checked in was nice. The room had a TV that had decent channels. The motel is very close to places like Sizzler’s, Kmart, Albertsons, Best Buy’s, and more.
Maybe I was at orientation for the majority of the time but I really think this place was nice.
