Welcome to the Dance Studio of Maine
where we strive to provide your children with solid technical training as well as an enjoyable and creative dance experience.
We offer dance classes for all ages and for all levels of training, beginning through pre-professional. Our classes are limited in size and are grouped by age and ability. We specialize in Tap, Ballet, Contemporary Jazz, Tumbling, Competition Classes, Hip Hop, Ballet/Tap Combo, Pre-Ballet, Pointe, and offer specialty dance classes in Modern and Zumba.
We encourage you to stop by to see our facilities and meet the staff. We are located in Gorham at 6 School Street. The Dance Studio of Maine offers some of the best instructional dance classes for Southern Maine’s dance students, and we hope you will join us!

Established in 1952.
History:
The Dance Studio of Maine, Inc. was founded by Virginia Dorr in 1952 under its original name, the Virginia Dorr School of Dance. Since then, it has become a Gorham institution and serves aspiring dancers from all over Southern Maine
The Dance Studio of Maine, Inc now serves over 350 students each year ranging in age from 2 — 73! We are a family oriented dance studio with a beautiful studio space to accommodate any class size needed. All classes are organized into sessions with a set number of participants and a syllabus designed to help every dancer reach their goals. Register today by clicking the register button on any page.
Dance Studio of Maine dancers have performed at Madison Square Garden, Gorham Marketplace Lunch Time Extravaganza, Manchester Mill Rats Basketball, Falmouth by the Sea, Perform for a Cure, The Maine Red Claws, Gorham Memorial Day parade, and the Gorham Wellness Fair.

Trish has trained at Broadway Dance Center in NYC and has attended workshops from Dance Masters of America Teachers Training. In 2003 she performed with the Knicks City Dancers at Madison Square Garden. Before becoming the Owner/Director of the Dance Studio of Maine in 2001, she was an instructor there under Carol Jordan. Other community involvements include being the former President and board member of the Gorham Business and Civic Exchange. She has also hosted benefit dance performances for the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. She has shot a commercial for the Dance Studio of Maine, Inc with Blake McGrath and Kenny Wormald of MTV. The commercial will appear on FOX’s hit television show «So You Think You Can Dance» Season 2 & 3
