History
Established in 1992.
The areas only waterfront dining experience.
The Loading Dock is located on the original site of the Grafton Boatworks machine shop. Yachts, barges, and tugboats were built in the attached warehouse as far back as the 1700s. The last boats ever built here were armed river patrol boats used in the Vietnam War. The boat’s guns were tested on the islands located directly south of The Loading Dock’s decks. Some say you can still see the bullet holes in the trees.
After Vietnam, the warehouse stood vacant. That is, until 1992 when a small group of friends recognized the potential of this one-of-a-kind location and opened The Loading Dock.
