Gundies of Graham

Not terribly impressed with this company. Although a couple of the sales guys are friendly and willing to help (Marty & Jason) the rest of them are a joke… the entire company is a joke. Every single item they sell is listed as 1 hour repair, and in the insurance/​auto repair biz you can’t trust any 1 hour part.
They quote insurance adjusters cheap parts with low repair hours. Then when the parts show up and are absolute garbage they make it hassle to take them back. Which in return lengthens the repair time and wastes my time.
Today I was instructed by an insurance adjuster to order a part from them, listed as 1 hour repair. I knew there was going to be a problem, but I called to order it anyway. I told the salesman Clay that I was not going to accept any garbage parts, as this was an insurance job and the part had to be just that «insurance quality’ Clay said no problem. since he could not provide a quality part he gave me what is called a «zero quote». I then called the insurance adjuster, and informed him of the zero quote, he threw a fit, called 3 way with Gundie’s and we were transferred back and fourth between 4 people who could/​would not address the issue.
Once we finally found someone who could help us, he denied ever receiving a phone call from me to order a part, and then he denied the zero quote his coworker just gave me just 5 minutes before. Which makes me look like a liar to the insurance adjuster.
I call back a few minutes later to re-​order the part they just said they couldn’t/wouldn’t sell me, and with the adjuster not listening Clay admitted to changing his story. His excuse was that since the insurance was going to pay me 1 hour of clean up time on the part, that he was unable to uphold the zero quote he just gave me, so he denied giving it to me at all.
Now like I said I have had bad experiences with this company in the past, however this particular case absolutely tops the cake. I am amazed they are still in business, with customer service like that. Shame on you Gundie’s.

I had never heard of Gundie’s until a month ago. While trying to get some hard to find parts, a local dealership suggested I give them a call. I called and spoke with Ian Smith. He said he had the parts in stock, but due to the lateness of the hour, he would need to call me back the following day. I never heard from Ian the following day, so I called the day after. He confirmed he had the parts, charged my card and advised me that I would have the parts the very next day.
The parts didn’t come the next day, or the day after, so I called Ian and was told that it had been busy and the parts hadn’t shipped, but they would ship that day out of Graham and I’d have them the following day. Again, the parts didn’t come the next day or the day after so I called back and Ian advised me that UPS mistakenly shipped to the wrong address. I asked for the tracking number and he said, Don’t worry, I’ll handle this and have it re-​routed to you and you should have it day after tomorrow. Several days later I called after I still had no parts. I spoke with Bob, general manager and he said his policy was for his people to fix their own issues. Before I could advise Ian was the issues, Bob had put him back on the phone. Ian immediately cut into me telling me it wasn’t his fault and I wasn’t going to chew him out. I didn’t call to chew anyone out. I called to find out exactly why he has dropped the ball a half dozen times and what his manager was going to do about it. I also said if it’s UPS’s fault, I want my shipping charges reversed, matter of fact now that it was weeks since the single day promised, I just want the shipping reversed regardless of who’s fault It was. Ian said, «How about I refund you and get the parts back». I asked how that helped either one of us and advised him at the point of charging my card, we were in a contract that we BOTH had to agree to dissolve. He said he would have the package re-​routed to me and I would have it in two days, again I refused the tracking details. I took it upon myself to contact UPS, they advised that they had no shipments in this time from that zip code to my zip code 90 miles away, and no shipments to the incorrect zip code Ian claimed it shipped to.
Both Ian and Bob showed how a lack of service and most likely education can negatively impact your business and reputation. They asked why I was making suck a big deal for $ 200. It’s because I wanted what I paid for and if it’s only $ 200, why didn’t you behaving like true adults and after weeks of not following through on one action, why didn’t you refund the money and still deliver the parts. That’s what top shelf service is.
Well, at least you know what to expect from Gundie’s and it isn’t service. I think they should drop the G, cause that’s what this entire episode smells like!

Looking for used auto parts, called them and they told me they had the part. It was almost 3 times more expensive than all the other quotes. I asked why this was… I was then put on hold. Waited for a couple minutes and went through the process of asking for the make model year and requested part. My quote was the same as before and when I asked why they would be so much higher than all the others… I was told they cater to mostly insurance companies, and they will pay more if they save over brand new. No wonder insurance costs have risen so much.
Never ever will I do business with them.
