I ordered the chicken ceaser wrap with a Mediterranean salad. Not only did it take 1:30 to deliver but it wasn’t good. The only thing that was fresh were the cucumbers in the salad. The fries were soft not crispy, the chicken in the wrap seems like it was made 3 days ago some of the lettuce was brown. Everything was cold. Just horrible experience. Never ordering from there again.

We came here after reading some Unilocal reviews. This was the first and last time we go to the pizza cookery on Devonshire and Balboa streets. The service was great. The restaurant was nice and clean. HOWEVER the pizza guy created a horrible pizza. I ordered a $ 203 topping medium pizza. What we got was a tiny sprinkling of salami and mushrooms and a ridiculous jalapeño blood bath. REALLY?! I didn’t send it back out of fear of getting one in return with human bodily fluids.

Food is ok, not so great. But on the bright side the service is good. The pizza was too greasy, fries too bland. And sadly $ 5 is too much for one slice of pizza, a couple of fries and a soda…

Been here twice in the past month and I having nothing but great things to say. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and the pizza is so good and they have many toppings to choose from. The bread basket is very addicting and they give you a lot. The antipasto salad is my favorite and all the ingredients are fresh. Definitely my new pizza place!

Been coming here for over 10years. Recently stopped in for a bday dinner. The place is pretty dead and they cramped a party of 5 in a tiny booth. We ordered a large antipasto salad, large half veggie half cheese pizza, and a chicken fettuccini pasta. And during our meal we had two pitchers of beer along with some lemonades and sodas. The waitress was awesome, very nice and helpful. So let’s talk about the food, first of all coming here means delicious hot garlic cheese rolls with whipped butter… these are my favorite things on the menu. Next, the salad was huge but pricy. It was $ 23 but it was humongous and very delicious. Honestly we all got full just from eating the bread and salad. Finally came the pizza and pasta. Pizza is not bad here, but I have other places I’d rather go. The pasta is not good. It needed salt and flavor badly! Esp the chicken in it. After adding salt and pepper and parm cheese it was okay… I would not order it again. Overall, for $ 98 it isn’t worth it. I only see myself ordering salad and rolls from now on.

This place is pretty amazing for that pizza craving… pizza and beer… you can’t really go wrong… plus their amazing bread rolls… just don’t eat too many as there won’t be room for pizza. But I guess the carbs help for the many selections of beer they have. The service is very nice and are prompt with seating people as they come in. The food I really good and even though I split a small pizza with my boyfriend, we always take home the leftovers… after all, cold pizza is better in my opinion! We get the meat lovers pizza with extra pepperoni which is amazing!!! Haha but this place is great and if I lived closer, I would be here all the time, but it’s probably a good thing I have to travel for my pizza fix… I don’t need the extra carbs :)

We have been eating here for years. My daughter loves this place. The rolls are the best in the valley. The pizza is homemade with real mozzarella. The service is excellent and the owner is wonderful. I can’t complain. We just love it. You can’t beat the taste and the service. It’s just very family like and the ambiance is very rustic! Hay on the floors and twinkle lights. I can’t say enough for this place and I normally don’t write reviews.

The pizza here is delicious and that’s all they should stick to. We ordered chicken Alfredo fettuccine with sun dried tomatoes and grilled chicken Parmesan. Unfortunately I make better versions of this at home. What really killed it was the quality of the chicken. I added a bit of salt and pepper to the pasta itself to make it tolerable. Our meal was not worth what we paid. Beware-do not order anything that isn’t pizza, otherwise you’re safe because their pizza is actually good. Their service was awesome though

So sad to see this place has such a low rating! My boyfriend and I love to come here for pizza. The service is always nice. The bread rolls they bring out are always warm and delicious. We like to order the antipasto salad and a small pepperoni and pineapple pizza. Always so so YUMMY! I’ve never gotten anything for pick up or delivery. It seems to be where the problem lies. Hope they can improve this soon.

Never even got to try any food. We were waiting to be seated for ten minutes without anyone coming to the front at all. I asked the ahole making the pizzas if anyone ever comes up here to seat people. He tells me they’re really busy and leaves it at that. Meanwhile there was a party of three waiting too and that’s it. Do yourself a favor and go the extra mile to the Woodland Hills location. They treat everyone like family there.

DISGUSTING, DISGUSTING experience! I was at the car wash next to this place and decided to take some pizza home and tried out this place. Worst mistake ever as I can not eat for another week. There was a DEADROACH inside, underneath the pizza and I found out only after we consumed the slices. This is absolutely disgusting!!! CLEARLY would NOT be returning here, as you shouldn’t as well!

I found a dead roach under my pizza. That is very disgusting and unacceptable. It’s a shame because the pizza slices that I ate before noticing the roach were pretty good and filling. Please clean out your kitchen before someone else goes through this!

Went here with two friends, each of us ordering food. I ordered a personal pizza with garlic. The garlic was raw and the cheese was super greasy. My friend ordered the shells with meat sauce and it was weirdly sour, the pasta a bit overcooked and the meat was nearly nonexistent. My other friend ordered the minestrone which arrived lukewarm and was also strangely sour, almost vinegary. The aftertaste was sort of like blood and vomit. The whole place was kind of dingy, there was water/mold damage on the ceiling tiles. There was dust on some of the décor, and the centerpiece on our table was grimy. They staggered our service so we got our meals with a gap of fifteen minutes between people. The service station visible from our seats was filthy. We should have turned away when we realised the front door was broken. The bread was good, and the waitress was friendly until she overheard us complaining and then didn’t come back.

While the food is great, the service, management and ownership are poor at best. Many times when picking up an order that has been called in they fail to meet the specifications of the order. When i inform the owner/manager his response is that it is my fault, not theirs. We have placed orders with where we have a written confirmation of our specific orders and yet he still refuses to take respionsibility. His latest response was that since they are giving a lunch special pricing we shouldn’t be so picky. His order taker even had admitted she had made an error, but he did not want to correct the matter. There are other restraurants in teh area with similar food, better service and an owner/manager that desire business and taking care of their customers. I will not be giving any more business to this location so long as it remains under current management. Instead go to the location in Woodland Hills which is onder different management and has far superior service.

For some reason, every several years I have to remind myself why I stopped patronizing this restaurant. What a spectacularly bad meal. Such a crime against food, in fact, that it’s prompted me to write my first ever Unilocal review. I ordered for carry-out the chicken parmesan sandwich and an order of garlic bread. The chicken parmesan sandwich consisted of what I’m sure was a frozen breaded chicken patty, heated in the oven to a crisp, with a slice of cheese food product, and placed on a very poor, Wonder Bread-esque quality roll. The marinara sauce on the side was pasty and lacked any seasoning. The garlic bread used the same type of bread as the sandwich, and was made by drizzling butter and heaping a pile of virtually raw chopped garlic along the center of the bread, leaving a very dry perimeter. Speaking as a garlic lover from way back, this garlic bread was inedible due to the mound of raw garlic. The menu description mentioned parmesan cheese but I saw none. I’m thinking the cook(I’m using this term loosely here) has no idea what garlic bread actually is and came to this brilliant conclusion: «I chop loads of garlic. I throw garlic on bread. Voilà – garlic bread!!!» I now can’t stop fantasizing about Robert Irvine and Gordon Ramsay taking turns sampling their food and ripping the owners a new one. A girl can dream, can’t she?

Small caged animal smell … that’s what I smelled as soon as I walked into Pizza Cookery. I immediately thought I was walking through a pet store. I looked on the ground and realized there was that old school wood shavings material people use to put inside their small animal/rodent cages. Why a restaurant would purposely put this stuff all over their floor, I do not know. But the smell it released was super off putting. Yuck. Then there was the heating issue. The restaurant was FREEZING! I was so cold that I actually made my friend come and sit next to me so I could get just a little bit warmer. Its the middle of winter Pizza Cookery. Stop being cheap and turn on your heater. But on to the food. Ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad Wrap and my friend ordered a Calzone. My wrap tasted more like a chicken with lettuce wrap than a caesar wrap. But it was edible and at this point I just wanted to get out of there. My friend really liked his Calzone and it appeared hot and perfectly cooked when it was served to him. We were also served their Garlic and Cheese Rolls. Sadly these were unimpressive. Hard, dry and unappealing. And coming from a carb lover like myself, that’s just sad. 2 stars because my friend likes this place and I was able to eat my food. However I found it smelly, cold and even overpriced. I won’t be returning.
