Price breakdown, FYI:
I paid $ 100. an hour for 3 guys x’s 7.75 hours + $ 20. fuel surcharge, double drive time, 5 tape rolls & 1 shrink wrap = $ 920. This amount included moving a 2 bdrm. house with many studio paintings, a fridge, 10 – 15 large plants and gardening supplies. Being a novice mover, these prices may be in the expected range. However, it was almost double what I had been loosely given as a quote ($ 500 – 600.) prior to the move over the phone and therefore it seemed like a lot. What I paid monetarily, I got back in peace of mind.
What I experienced:
They were careful with all of my things, meticulous about shrink-​wrapping the items I had not and worked harmoniously as a team. Franklyn, the supervisor/​driver expertly tightened up all the objects to be stored and directed the move, while his kind son Joey moved all of it out to their 43′ truck with efficiency and a smile. Page, the 3^rd man on deck, worked tirelessly and had amazing spatial intelligence. He skillfully loaded an additional 10′ U-​Haul truck with my bedroom/​office furniture like a Tetris cube, a truck that I would drove on to my new residence after unloading the other 90% of my stuff from their truck into a storage unit for the year.

Working with Valley All-​Star Moving Service was like being with family, which made this difficult transition feel easier. From compassionate Jim and gentle Beverly in the office, to the 3 hard working men in the field, I would hire them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend Valley All-​Star Moving Company to friends and neighbors alike.

i used this company to move to about 6 months ago. this was my 3^rd move with them in 8 years. every time they have done an excellent job. these guys are fast, and careful, and the prices are tough to beat. the first time i used them was because the original moving company never showed up. i called this companyt and they sent guys out to move my stuff just a few hours later. it was reasonable and they took good care of my stuff. i have really expensive furniture and i was really worried but they did a great job. highly recommend

This is the second time we have used Valley All Star Moving. First was 15 months ago when we hired them to pack our house (3,400 sq ft) and move us from the valley to Hermosa Beach. Part of our stuff they took to a storage and part to our new residence. Mambo and his crew were amazing. They worked so fast and efficiently. The proof of the quality of their work was now, our second move. We requested Mambo and his crew again and can only give rave reviews. They brought our things out of storage and moved us to our new home. The items in storage were in perfect condition and during both moves, not one item was damaged. Mambo is so patient and accommodating. We agree with Pamela M. review so don’t want to be redundant!

Just used Valley All Star for a third «epic» move! Once again they did an outstanding job. Mambo and crew are simply the best. Always on time. Always friendly. Always extremely careful. And no mater how arduous the job, they always pull it off with great aplomb! I simply can’t say enough wonderful things about this company! I will NEVER go anywhere else. I said it before, but bears repeating… totally stress free moving!!! And that says A LOT!!!

I needed help moving, and had one day to complete it. It was a Tuesday, and the day I needed help was that Friday. I called several companies, all of which said they were booked and could not help me – two actually laughed at me. I called Valley All Star nearly in tears, and was met with compassion and understanding. Sam, I believe was his name, patiently listened to my pleas, placed me on hold; and two minutes later came back on the line with the news that he had two guys who could help me Friday afternoon. I was so grateful to find help!
To my surprise he called again Thursday morning to tell me the movers would be there at 0900 the next morning. As promised, Mando and his counterpart were at my door at 0850, and by 0900 they were loading the truck. They wrapped all of our furniture carefully, so nothing was damaged or broken. They moved all of our stuff to a 3^rd floor apt (no elevator!) without complaint in the SCV heat. I gave them as much water as they could drink and a pizza to go, as they were off to their next job! I would use them again without hesitation, and definitely recommend them.

I just used this company to move my 1 bedroom to a 2 bed room upstairs and these guys kicked ass! They were on time, clean, careful with everything, wrapped the items that needed it, the time & price they quoted over the phone was right on point and they were very nice. Thanks Ron and Paige, when we move again we are calling you!

My boss used this place last year, and she raved about them. Then my friend used them last month and said they were awesome. So when I moved last week, I made sure to give them a call. I was not disappointed. (By comparison, see my review of Starving Students from when I moved a few years ago.)
They arrived on time and immediately got to work. They moved quickly and efficiently. They wrapped what needed wrapping and were very efficient. They weren’t two individual movers; they worked as a team. While they carried stuff, they were talking to each other about what needed two people; what needed one; what needed to be moved in what order to get it to fit right in the truck.
Early on in the move, one of the guys cut himself on a nail sticking out of a bookcase. But he just wiped his hand off, cowboyed up, and kept going.
They arrived at my new apartment just minutes after I did, which is amazing because they get paid double their hourly rate while they’re on the road (that’s standard for moving companies). And even though they had to park down the hill and carry my furniture up a hill, up a steep flight of stairs, around a steep turn, and down a narrow walkway (seriously, what could be worse for a mover?!), they never complained and never slowed down.
And they didn’t just dump-​and-​run. I was going from a HUGE two-​bedroom apartment to a tiny one-​bedroom, so my stuff was gonna be packed in tight. One of the guys helped me arrange my furniture so it looked nice and not cramped.
I tipped them more than 15%, which I heard was standard, but I really regret not tipping them more.
I move, on average, every 2 years, and I’ll be using these guys from now on.
