History

Established in 1950.

After serving in WWII and finding his British bride JD Hicks got his Masters in Photography and opened up his first studio in Flint. He ran it and shot until his passing having taught a new generation of photographers. Now the studio is in it’s third generation of clients and photographers, Danen Williams being the head photographer now. Hicks Studio has always been a family company and is still run that way with attention and care focused on all of our clients.

I have been a professional photographer for seven years after receiving a Fine arts degree from the University of Michigan. Born in Flint, I’ve lived my whole life in Genesee County and am dedicated to the area looking and working towards the day when we are all proud of Flint again. We have and do work with several charities and organizations in the area and are willing to offer support where we can.
