We recently took our newly adopted dog on our first family road trip for a little mountain biking in the Grand Junction/Fruita area. Though he was excellent, we learned he had serious separation anxiety when we left him alone for a few hours in the hotel. We were pretty bummed, as the hotel had warned us we were not allowed to leave him in our room again unattended due to the barking and whining. We had one more day of mountain biking left, but knew we couldn’t unless we could find something do with our dog. I was reluctant to do such a thing, but looked on the local craigslist adds for dog sitters. I left several messages, but Meagan from Run That Hound called me right back. When she asked when I needed a dog sitter, I explained the situation and said, «today, like in an hour…» We took him to her house where she spoiled him all day. Since we had only had him a few weeks when this happened, we were not sure what he liked or didn’t like(besides constantly being near people!) It was funny the things she found out he likes to do! Apparently he is a swimmer, fetcher etc! Needless to say, we picked up our dog after about 6 – 7 hrs and he was EXHAUSTED(a very good thing!) I was totally impressed with everything. They gave me a professional folder with his name on it, photos they had taken of him during the day and a full report of all his doggie activities. Wow! On top of an awesome last minute craigslist find and worn out dog(again, this is a GOOD thing!) it was very affordable. I HIGHLY recommend Run That Hound to any dog lover that needs professional, kind, reliable and affordable help with their four legged best friend. I wish they were in Denver where we live.
