The mission of GR Paddling, LLC is to provide guided kayak and canoe excursions in and around the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan area, utilizing local waterways as a way to increase appreciation by educating the public in the protection and value of our natural resources, and to promote area tourism through healthy, safe and responsible adventure activities. We provide comfortable transportation from your Grand Rapids Area location both to and from the river or lake. We pick you up. How cool is that? All you gotta do is paddle.

History

Established in 2013.

My wife Rita and I started GR Paddling to share our love for paddling and also to share our love for the Grand Rapids area and its wonderful waterway blessings. We have so many close by venues for kayaking and canoeing that seen to be under appreciated. We wanted to provide a quality focused, full-​service, safe, and enjoyable experience for local residents as well as visitors to the Grand Rapids area.

Business Owner

A former college professor, Jeff decided that retirement was a good time to get outdoors! He could not think of a better way to spend time enjoying God’s creation than to help others enjoy the beauty of nature as well. Jeff has spent many years exploring West Michigan by bike, boat, and foot. Canoeing down the Grand River one day, it occurred to him that there may be others who are wishing to do the same thing, but maybe they lack the equipment/​support needed to make it happen. Jeff is a Certified Tourism Ambassador for the City of Grand Rapids and is also certified as an instructor by the American Canoe Association.
