Taco Boy on Plainfield is always a pleasure to visit for dinner. The cashiers are always competent when it comes to taking your order. They repeat your order back to you when you’re finished to ensure that it is correct. The service is fast, and I’ve never had a mix-up on any of my orders, or ever had any made wrong. The food has excellent taste and is always hot. The price is reasonable. My only gig would be for when adding extras such as jalapeño slices and onion, I believe the quantity of pepper slices is less than six and the onion dices amounts to about twelve, i.e. they’re pretty stingy with those items! LOL Also, you may have to wait to eat in, as the seating is very limited.

Dined here the other day. Haven’t been to one for years. Taco Boy is a locally-owned Mexican joint that serve fairly decent food. They used to have 3 – 4 places in GR but apparently they are down to just this one on Plainfield which supposedly is the original(and one other in Mt Pleasant). Had the tostada deluxe and a spicy pork soft taco. Overall it was not bad. I would certainly not count them out next time I have a craving. Its not a very big place and there are probably 4 – 5 tables but good enough. The employees were very friendly too.

Superior food to fast food staple, Taco Bell, but kind of a rough around the edges building and location.

Taco boy isnt really meant to be a sit down restaurant in my opinion. They have a few tables inside and outside but they’re more of a to-go place. My husband loves their wet burritos and has been a fan of them for years. Everything we’ve tried there is delicious, It’s hard to go wrong when choosing taco boy.

Is it the most authentic taco i have ever had? No, but good luck with that in the Midwest. Are they the most delicious taco Tuesday specials I have ever had? Yup! While the menu is lacking in range, the few items it offers are done well, pretty fresh, and stay consistent. No frills, just get your cheap tacos and get out to go savage in the privacy of your own home.

Classic taco shop. Good quality, strange pricing structure, old time feel and a definite destination when I’m in the area. Especially Tuesday’s, which offer tacos, tostadas, rice and beans and more for $ 1.10 ea.

I really enjoy Taco Boy. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. Most of the other taco places around town charge way to much for what you are getting. Its usually pretty quick when it comes to the wait and I have yet to get home with the food and find my order wrong. They have really good hot sauce. If you have never eaten here then I suggest you try the mini wet burrito. I really enjoy their specials.

I eat here about every week, mainly because I’m addicted to the red all meat burrito, especially the great hot sauce I pour all over it. I have to admit I never expected this place to be so good, but it really is. Haven’t tried much else on the menu, the enchiladas are pretty good. Just remember to the get home made hot sauce in the little plastic cups.

Taco Boy will forever be my favorite place to get tacos. They are always delicious and use REAL ingredients. Every time I go in, the place is busy and serving up great food. I haven’t had a bad experience there yet!

Love Taco boy. Been a part of my diet since college in Mount Pleasant. Great tacos at great prices. Good burritos and my favorite, the super combo dinner. Taco boy serves great tacos, at a great price, and everything on the menu is good eats.

Excellent as always. The hardshell tacos are the best around and if u get them when they run a special it’s only a buck a taco. We also got the beef enchilada and a chicken tamale and both were fantastic. The staff was courteous and we will definitely be back. Thanks!

I don’t live in Grand Rapids anymore(or for right now), but after I drop my stuff at my dad’s, this is my next stop EVERY time. It’s not traditional, but oh so tasty. My favs are the mini wet and taco dinner.

I had my first taco there a decade ago during first break at Chic University of Cosmetology. I remember thinking, «How much extra do I have to pay for tomatoes? I thought those came standard on a taco,» and«When will this hangover release me?» At first, my interest in Taco Boy was a cynical joke. The sign is so bad, it’s good. The menu is a light box displaying photos of their meal deals. Over time, these details have become mere fibers in the fabric of my life. Perhaps it was fate, but when I moved into my first home, it was located a short five minute drive from this establishment. I think they are saving money on their menu sign by providing strange pricing like 37 and 21 cents for various additions to these bleak tacos.

Man this place is always packed — it doesn’t seem to matter what day of the week or what time I stop in, that little place is just packed! They have great specials and I often crave the chips n cheese deluxe! What else can I say? Great food — if you haven’t eaten here you should!!!

Staggering back to a hotel drunk as a skunk is a great way to spend a vacation, at least for me. But eventually the drunk muchies caught up to me, and I found a taco joint to satisfy my cravings, and I gotta tell ya, it hit the spot. Not knowing what this place was, I just gurgled out the first thing I noticed, 2 beef tacos with hot salsa. Grabbed them for about $ 5, then walked back to my hotel and ate them. The beef was cooked perfectly, a rarity for a taco joint, and the salsa stood out and lifted the whole taco to another level. The cheese and lettuce were a nice touch, and added texture to what would otherwise be a dry taco. Very moreish, and very flavorful, yet perfectly greasy… what you need after a night of partying.

Taco Boy is a GR staple. Their food is always made to order, so you know it is fresh. The menu is what I like to refer to as American Mexican food, and not very traditinal. Not that it is a bad thing. You have your traditional ground beef tacos and burritos. The wet burrio sauce is very flavorful. I’d suggest it if you can afford the calories. The hot sauce is great as well. Get there early for lunch because seats are limited in the small cozy place.

Great wet burrito. It’s all I ever get here, though I think they have some other menu items. The place could use a remodel, maintenance, or even just a cleaning, but the burrito is good enough that I don’t really care. This is not a place to bring people. It’s a place to go get your eat on.

There’s always got to be one person that rips a place right. I see how someone gave thisplace a one star review. Come On. Pretty good food and decent portions for what you pay for here. I’ll continue going back.

Okay, if you’re looking for a place to take a Prom date to, this isn’t the place. However, Taco Boy has everything else to offer to the hungry customer. Some of my favorite items on the menu are: the tacos, tostadas, and the Super Wet meat and bean burrito. Classier than Taco Bell with three-times the taste, the food here does not taste fast-food-like(although it could be considered fast food). Tuesdays they offer a 99 cent menu and their homemade hot sauce is the best. Overall, the décor makes Taco Boy a dive, however the food makes it a 5 Star Restaurant.

For those of us raised in the Grand Rapids area this is the resurrection of the infamous«Olé Taco». If you enjoyed Olé you will love Taco Boy. The offer the same environment and taste that Olé once served up to the masses. The first bite will trigger naustalgia and a smile to light up your face. If you get a craving for«4th Meal» try Taco Boy instead of the grossly overrated Taco Bell. The tacos are like no other in GR and the«Super Burrito» that is their claim to fame are the deservingly so.
