Specialties
The Melting Pot in Grand Rapids specializes in creating Perfect Nights Out. Bring your special someone to The Melting Pot and start with a specialty drink in our perfectly appointed bar and lounge. Then stay and get a table in our private area, Lover’s Lane, complete with one of our rose packages and enjoy our signature dinner: The Big Night Out.
Your Big Night Out will include your choice of one of our six cheese fondues like Spinach and Artichoke, Traditional Swiss, or the Wisconsin Trio. After cheese, cleanse your palate with a crisp salad before dipping into one of our delicious entrée selections with items like filet mignon, marinated chicken breast, or lobster.
Finally, finish your experience with molten chocolate! Dip items like strawberries or cheesecake into creamy milk chocolate, rich dark chocolate, or succulent white chocolate and make memories as sweet as your dessert.
History
Established in 1974.
The first Melting Pot opened up in Maitland, FL in 1974. A few years later, a band of ambitious brothers took the concept to the next level by purchasing the brand and expanding it throughout Florida. Bob, Mark, and Mike Johnston continued to grow the company throughout the last few decades, and now they are happy to offer over 140 locations nationwide. This growth was sparked when the brothers converted to a franchise oriented platform. This opportunity allowed many families and individuals to start up their own Melting Pot locations with the help of the Franchise Support Center in Tampa, FL.
Mark and Lisa Shaw opened their first Melting Pot restaurant in Grand Rapids, MI at the end of 2005. The concept was so successful in Grand Rapids, that in 2008 the Shaw’s decided to bring the concept to the heart of Ann Arbor. The couple refurbished the closed down Improv Inferno on Main Street between Liberty and Williams, and opened their doors to the public in late 2008.
