Open Sky Day Spa

I am giving this wonderful place a ⁴⁄₅ stars because the place was just delightful! Very cozy and relaxing, just what I needed. My friend and I got a massage together for my birthday (it’s not weird I swear!) and both of our masseuses were amazing and very comforting! We also scheduled a manicure afterwards which wasn’t nearly as great as the massages. If you’re looking for professional nails take your business elsewhere, if you want a nice chat and an okay job done this is the place for you. Very sweet staff though! Will be visiting this place more often!

I’m giving Open Sky Spa 3 stars for the fact they’re so friendly, they checked us in timely, very relaxing atmosphere. I booked a couples massage for my husband and I. He had Ashley and I had Carl. He had a fantastic experience, she checked in on him to ensure he was feeling great (pressure etc.) I had Carl and he never once asked me anything (pressure, how I was feeling… nothing) his hands felt like bones /​needles in my back. I’ve had 4 – 5 full body massages in my lifetime, and this I wouldn’t give one star. I cringed because this was a 90 minute massage. He had the sniffles and I could tell he was ready for it to be over. (you know when you ask your spouse for massage and they half a$$ it and you make them stop) well like that. I will definitely be back, but ask for Ashley. My husband had a fantastic massage and it was mostly for him.
I’m just disappointed $ 200 later!

A group of friends decided that a spa-​cation was just what we needed to get through the winter doldrums. I discovered Open Sky on Unilocal and we decided to give it a whirl. Left work a wee bit early to arrive late on a Tuesday afternoon to take advantage of their Tuesday special ($ 55 massages and facials). Wow! Everyone and everything was lovely. Our masseuses and estheticians were knowledge charming and and delightful. The place itself was easy to get to (and parking was a breeze) and relaxing (music, aroma the whole package). We loved it and are already wondering when we can return.

I have been going to open sky for couple of years (since old location), very clean, on time, skilled masseuses, quiet and relaxing!

My husband and I had a couple’s massage with Ashley and Bryan and they were wonderful! We will definitely be back!

I got a couples massage on my birthday this past Sunday and it was different from other massage places I’m used to.
I think it’s because they specialize in the deep tissue massages and I forgot to tell them I don’t really prefer deep tissue. Although that was my fault and I’ll take the blame, I’ll remember to get a typical massage next time.
My husband enjoyed his massage because it helped alleviate the stress he had been going through from work. I just needed it because of my workouts, recent car accident and injuries I’ve had to over come. Between the two of us we had an interesting mix of problems.
I know most of my muscles were stretched out during the massage because I could hear a lot of popping sounds. They massage everything you tell them to massage here. I made my husband laugh because I told the masseuse I’m very ticklish and I am, so I laughed like a little girl at points where I was ticklish.
This was a great experience and I’m very happy they also honored the $ 7 coupon Unilocal provides when you check in to this location. It was also very affordable compared to some other places we’ve been. I may be back soon. Just depending if I’m in the area and really need a massage.

My mom and I visited Open Sky upon receiving gift certificates for facials. This was my mom’s first facial. She said it was relaxing, and her skin felt and looked great afterwards. While waiting for her, the receptionist was very friendly and offered me drinks and the wifi password. I think it’s important for a spa to feel like home and Open Sky definitely achieved that.
My appointment was on a different day. An appointment I had before that ran late and I called the spa twenty minutes after my scheduled time. They told me to still head over and got me in for my facial. Most places cannot accept last minute cancellations/​reservations, but they were beyond nice about it.
Charlene was nice, knowledgable, and focused on my problem areas. She made the process so easy and discussed products and skin care with me. I could tell that she truly cares about her clients and enjoys her job.
I will definitely be back at Open Sky to try out their other services!

I love Open Sky… let me tell you why:
I’m not really a fancy schmancy spa person, but I do love a good massage. What’s cool about Open Sky is that it’s nice, clean, modern, and professional — but not frous-​frous at all. It’s very much my kind of place.
The outside of the building is unassuming, but don’t let that fool you. Once inside, there’s a lovely little lobby with a friendly receptionist, coffee, water, etc. And then there’s a hallway with different rooms for whatever service you choose. I’ve been in a couple different rooms, and they’re all different and very beautiful and calming.
I’ve seen Bryan for massages, and he is spectacular. In a wonderful dichotomy, he is very gentle but but so strong at the same time. His massage will sneak up on you — you think it’s just relaxing, and then you realize how much he’s getting all the knots and stress out! He’s such a sweetheart and intuitively knows when to chat, when to let me doze off… sometimes we gab, sometimes we don’t. He always leaves me feeling refreshed for days.
Scheduling is super simple. Just shoot them an email or give them a call, and they’ll make it happen. Pro tip: You can get a massage special on Tuesdays for $ 55!

We had a fantastic experience at Open Sky Day Spa. To celebrate my upcoming nuptials, my mother and I booked a package for both of us to receive a facial, massage, and foot scrub. The two technicians were fantastic; professional and very well skilled. Great massage and facial; although I can’t really comment on the foot scrub as by that point I was so relaxed, I fell asleep. We had a private room with two beds, and for two and a half hours, we were completely pampered, and never even had to get up. It was a great experience and I will definitely go back.

This is not exactly a timely review, because I haven’t lived in Columbus since March of 2012, but every time I have a subpar experience at a spa, I remember how much I miss Open Sky and think that I should leave them a nice Unilocal review. Here it finally is!
I have had facials and massages at Open Sky and both were incredibly relaxing, and my skin looked wonderful after the facial. My main issue with most spas is that it seems like no matter what sort of products you use, they try to convince you that if you don’t throw it all out and start using the in-​house line, you will look like a leather boot by the time you are 40. I dread the part at the end of most facials where the anesthetist tries to guilt you into buying $ 500 worth of creams and serums and gels. None of that shit at Open Sky. Charlene did not push products on me at all, and when I asked for recommendations to address specific concerns, the products she recommended were reasonably priced and not from the line sold at the spa (meaning she recommended the product she thought would work best for me, not the ones the business would make a profit from). It was such a refreshing change of pace from what I am used to! The whole experience was relaxing and wonderful, and I highly recommend them.

Open Sky is truly AMAZING! It is very convenient with easy parking, it’s quaint and the staff is incredible. They go out of their way to make you feel special and relaxed. It’s not a full blown «spa» from my experience, but it’s pretty darn close. The prices are amazing and Brian is the BEST (ask for him!)… I will definitely be back!

I got a massage here (my first one, so I’m not exactly the expert massages, this review is just based on my experience as it was) and it was excellent. I had been thinking about getting a massage for awhile. I don’t particularly have an injury in trying to mend or anything, but I just wanted some R&R and figured now was as good of a time as any. I went on a Tuesday (they have discounts on Tuesdays), I heard good things from my fellow Unilocalers, and Open Sky Day Spa was close to my house so I figured why not?
The building itself is fairly unassuming, but really cozy and comfortable inside. The reservation process is easy (I did so by phone, they had quite a few Tuesday’s already booked so plan ahead) and the check in and payment processes were all easy as well.
They take you into a room, which is pretty small, but nice ambience that they have going on with music, décor, etc. They also keep it pretty warm, with warm bed sheets too! They use scents and oils but it was not overbearing. They were very nice and took time to explain everything that they were going to do. I had Paulette, who was wonderful and was very receptive to feedback about whether I was comfortable, etc. I felt like my needs and preferences were heard and she even took time afterwards to give me some tips on exercises and stretches to do. I left feeling super relaxed and calm all over. I would definitely recommend coming here, it was a good experience all around!

Highly recommend Charleen for facials! This was my first time at Open Sky Day Spa and I had a great experience. Front desk associate was very welcoming. Charlene walked me through each step and each product that she was using on my face. She gave me advice and suggestions as well.

The hubs and I were looking to make a last minute appt for a couple’s massage and Open Sky had an opening! Easy on street parking on a Sunday. The receptionist was friendly, minimal décor in lobby. (It doesn’t have that fancy spa feel which I do prefer). Amy and Laurie were wonderful! They played great music and made us feel very comfortable. Beds were comfy and warm, clean quiet environment. My husband has really bad lower back pain and Laurie took care of it! I wanted relaxation with strong pressure and Amy delivered. Overall it was a great experience and worth trying a new place that can handle couples massages with last minute bookings! (Also $ 145+tax+tip for couples massage seemed normal to me when comparing to other places we have gone before).

I am sooo glad I found this place. I would give it more stars if I could. I planned a full day for my boyfriend’s birthday and boy am I glad I included this place. I purchased the couples massage and foot scrub and it was THE best experience. I am from Atlanta and I’ve experienced my share of massages. However this place is definitely beating the competition.
Bryan was AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. The music was soothing and the foot scrub is a must. I will definitely be returning to try the facial and Swedish massage.

I have been to Open Sky many times, and could not recommend them more… The front end staff are very accommodating, and my massage therapist, Kacy, couldn’t have been more professional and skilled…
I’ve had both one on one sessions, and a couple of couples massages with my wife here, and each and every one was simply awesome!
Scheduling is easy, and the staff was very accommodating and flexible (they even were able to process a gift certificate package for us from my mom, who lives in Washington!)…
I haven’t been to the new location yet, but I cannot wait until we have a little extra $ to go… This is an amazing business, and highly recommend it… you simply cannot go wrong here…

Excellent massage with Sherri! She did a great job consulting with me about my needs and expectations for my massage, so I got a very personalized experience. Sherri’s adept fingers obliterated tension and stiffness.
Their current location is cute, and I didn’t really notice much ambient noise, so the atmosphere was very relaxing. Friendly, fun staff made me feel like one of the girls immediately. I made my next appointment on my way out :)

Let me just start out by saying I was a little bit skeptical. I live near Open Sky Day Spa (OSDS) and it’s a pretty unassuming, small building.
My other massages have come at resorts in Hawaii, Vegas, Jamaica and NYC.
I was totally prepared to be underwhelmed. The lobby is small.
Then I laid down and Clay got to work. The next hour was THE BEST MASSAGE OF MY LIFE — and I once had a 90 minute massage in a secluded, open cabana listening to the ocean in Jamaica… why don’t I go back there… it was warm… cozy… open bar…

oh yeah, Clay.
Clay was like a surgeon. Precise in his pressure. It wasn’t an «i’ll make you feel good» but a «you’re gonna thank me when I’m done» massage. My wife wanted far less pressure than I, and she was happy as well.
It’s perfect. Maybe I’ll try to get a monthly membership or something. I could do that a lot. A Lot.

I got one of the weirdest massages I’ve ever had here. It seemed that my masseuse had a poor sense of anatomy and distinguishing between skin, fat and muscle. I got a fast paced vigorous rub down to the beat of bad electronic music; there was no feeling that the masseuse wanted me to relax. He was super casual, to the point of rudeness (in fact, he said at one point «I have to go to the bathroom» and after five minutes he came back with slightly wet hands).
My sister also had a massage at the same time that I did and she ended up leaving five minutes into it.
The vibe there was totally unprofessional. The staff were joking about sexual harassment in the lobby after we’d gone to our respective rooms (you can hear everything in the building) because my sister had expressed concern about not wanting a male masseuse. By the way, their initial response to this was «he’s more a woman than a woman» and «don’t worry, he’s not into you», which struck me as completely inappropriate and not the point.

I booked a couples massage a week in advance as I knew I was flying out to see my girlfriend for a few days and knew she’d enjoy something like this.
Simply put, this place is rated so high for a reason. Service! I have received many massages via chain businesses and personal masseuses; this place has it going on.
We arrived 10 minutes early to fill out the necessary paperwork. After a couple of minutes sitting on the couch out front we were led back to the room (very cozy and intimate) and informed of the process and asked if we had any questions. They then left the room and said they’d be back shortly to begin.
After disrobing we each hopped onto our own massage tables (separated approx. 3 feet). The masseuses Amy and Paulette came back in and asked what type of music we’d like to listen to and then promptly started the radio with requested jams. Then a quick couple questions about pressure and sensitive areas and away they went.
My girlfriend and I were very satisfied. If I lived in Ohio I’d be going back more often.

I live RIGHT behind Open Sky Day Spa but have never went. It’s reaaaally small and situated between an ugly office building and an ugly apartment building. I got a full body massage from Kacy and it was wonderful!
Pros:
— Very large, warm room where the massage takes place
— Heated bed
— Kacy asked how firm I like my massages + asked about my most recent
— She even said I could choose my own Pandora radio station!
— Was willing to focus on any trouble spots instead of full body
— Asked what kind of lotion I’d like to use — they have a vegan option (not oil)
I can’t really think of anything else — it was a fabulous experience and I went about my day feeling very refreshed and calm.
