Things I LOVED: 1. All in all, she did a beautiful job! 2. Cher is extremely nice and accommodating 3. She has a great eye for décor 4. She is resourceful. The trumpet vases we purchased and painted would not properly hold the flower trays. Consequently, she used her own(beautiful) tall centerpieces, which I appreciated. 5. She stayed on budget! Always a huge plus. Small areas of improvement: 1. While my bridal bouquet was beautiful, it was made mostly of white flowers with pops of coral. Cher and I had previously discussed my desire to have no white in my bouquet(or elsewhere). I wanted different shades of coral or peach. Again, not a big issue because the bouquet was very pretty, but it just was not what we discussed or what I had envisioned. 2. I think this is partly the fault of living far away and having family that tends to misconstrue information, but it was unclear how not having the«design package» impacted décor set up. At times, I felt almost as though I was being ostracized for not having that package. That being said, my wedding was beautiful. And I can’t wait to look over photos to really see what it looked like. The day flies by so fast that you have no time to really appreciate all of décor!

Merry Me Events recently helped us with our daughter’s wedding at Notre Dame. It was amazing! My husband wanted me to be able to enjoy the day and not be worrying — so not only was it incredibly beautiful but I was also able to relax and chat with guests without a worry. Merry Me handled our day-of coordination as well as our decorations and floral, and let us tell you, it was one of the best decisions we made for our September 2012 wedding! First, they are just wonderful people to begin with. We were planning our Indiana wedding(at the Notre Dame Basilica since we’re both alums) while living in California, and decided we wanted at least a day of coordinator to handle things so we wouldn’t be stressed. We found them online and, after reading their reviews, decided to shoot Cher an email. She replied quickly and was able to answer all of our questions, a huge plus for us since most of our communications would be over email. We happened to be coming back to the Granger area a few months later, so we set up a meeting with her. Like you are probably also doing, we considered«the other» planning/florist company, aka the default for on-campus weddings. They were slow on communicating with us via email or phone, and they definitely give you a feeling that you’re just one in a line of many, many Basilica weddings. Obviously, yes, since you’ve got a Basilica wedding you kind of are one wedding of 6 on that same weekend, but it’s still YOUR wedding and a very significant day in your life! Merry Me, even though I’m sure they had other weddings that weekend, made us feel like we were the only ones getting married that month! They are so sincere in wanting to make your wedding day amazing, and really will do anything they can to make it a success! We brought our ideas, all really rough, and our color scheme to that first meeting with her. We were kind of nervous, because what we wanted seemed kind of crazy, at least when you heard us talk about it! We had nothing to worry about though, because if she or Richelle thought any of it was weird, they didn’t show it, and actually got really, really excited about«our vision»!(on a side note, we realized our wedding colors were also their companies logo colors!) We wanted to do two receptions with travel themes; the first one would be a more formal brunch with vintage travel flair, while the second one was in the evening and was more of a dance party with Star Wars undertones. Yea, crazy right? BUT, they made it work! About 2 seconds after that meeting, we decided to hire them for coordination and décor! We had another meeting with them about 6 months later where we finalized some designs, but other than that, we were communicating entirely through phone calls and emails. On to the day of our wedding! The decorations were amazing and the florals breathtaking. Like we mentioned above, we just had 2 interviews with Cher and gave her a general idea of what we wanted. Honestly, even we didn’t really know exactly what we wanted it to look like. Neither of us are particularly design oriented, so we gave Cher a lot of room to do whatever she thought would look good. We are SOGLAD we did! Cher managed to take the chaos that was what we described for her and turned it into an elegant, classy, design plan that was so very distinctly us. Both the brunch reception and evening reception looked amazing; they were distinctly different, but obviously connected. One example: she arranged to have the centerpieces from our more formal brunch morning reception brought to the evening reception, rearranged them, and set them up with our floor plan and rentals to make it look like a night club! We couldn’t have asked for better décor or florals! What Cher was able to do for decorations, Richelle was able to do with our coordination. Richelle, from the SoCal area like us, is such a professional, but also someone you could take out to coffee because she’s just that sweet. Before our wedding day, she answered our thousands of questions and helped in any way she could. Thanks to her, we secured our room block effortlessly(zero drama!) and smoothed out all the wrinkles regarding transportation for our guests. She knows what she’s doing, and can see upcoming problems before you even consider them to be remotely possible. She is exactly what anyone would want in a wedding coordinator — she makes sure everything happens the way it’s supposed to, but no one ever actually notices she’s there. Just about everything went exactly how we had discussed it in our meetings before the wedding, and when something didn’t go according to plan she improvised so well that a) none of our guests noticed, and b) even we didn’t notice it didn’t go according to plan. On top of that, she was able to get the vendor who did mess up(through no fault of her own) to give us a refund. If you are looking for the absolute best wedding planners and decorators in Indiana, look no further than Merry Me. If they’re available on your wedding day, retain them as soon as you have a chance! Cher and Richelle make an amazing team, one that you will most definitely want in your corner on such an important day in your lives!

Cher and her staff do an amazing job! We worked with Merry Me for our October 2012 wedding at The Historic Oliver Gardens in South Bend. Our ceremony was supposed to take place outdoors in the gardens, but we ended moving about an hour prior to the start due to the rain and cold. Cher and her staff seamless moved the ceremony from the gardens to the Leighton Gallery in the Center for History. Some would panic at such a last minute change, but everything worked out perfectly. Merry Me handled all the design, décor and floral elements for the tented reception. Our colors played off the vibrant fall flowers and it turned out perfectly. We trusted Cher completely and loved the bouquets, boutonnière, centerpieces and other décor. The tent was beauiftul decorated and the extra touches such as Merry Me’s custom built bars were perfect. Cher kept everything moving and the evening on schedule so all we had to do was relax and have fun with our guests. Throughout the entire process, Cher listened to what we wanted and had suggestions and recommendations that fit with what we had envisioned. It was so helpful to have her there to coordinate the details, confirm with the vendors and make it stress free for us. I would highly recommend Merry Me for weddings and any other events!

As a Unilocal addict, I’m thrilled to write this first review… As an out-of-town bride, I knew I would need help planning a wedding in South Bend. I was referred to Cher and Merry Events by a friend who, herself, is an event planner.(I knew she would know who to go to!) This was, by far, the best vendor referral I’ve ever received. If I could give Cher and her crew, 10 stars, I would. Cher, and her team, are an absolute pleasure to work with. From our first meeting to the last, she was everything we needed in a planner– her ideas, flexibility, commitment to her brides, creativeness and professionalism were outstanding. She was able to work with our budget to create something I could have never put together ourselves. She designed our flowers, décor and even the details on our cake! Our assigned Day of Coordinator, Richelle, was everything we hoped– she was under the radar, and moved our day right along and on schedule. The day of was effortless, and thanks to Richelle, no one in our family had to worry about the tiny details. That alone is worth EVERY penny. She was professional, flexible, and our families enjoyed working with her. Most importantly, Cher made me feel secure in our budget, planning and those tiny details. Let’s face it, how many of us have planned our weddings before? Sometimes, you just need a little positive assurance in your decisions and time-lines. I hope, we are able to work with Merry Me again!!!
