The BBQ sandwich was four stars, but the onion rings were over-cooked and tasteless. Also, the french fries were average. It took an hour and ten minutes to get two BBQ sandwiches an order of French fries and an order of onion rings even though the restaurant was never more than half full. They were seriously under staffed. This is the first time Unilocal ratings has let us down:(

Outstanding meal and service. All is local and homemade. Owner made a point to visit our table and make sure all was good. Loved the burgers, smoked brisket and sausage. Too bad we didn’t have room for dessert. Bread pudding in a saloon? We can only imagine…

Stopped here on a motorcycle trip around Lake Michigan with two friends. The giant smoker parked out front drifting the smell of smoked meat is what made us stop. Had the sausage and brisket platter smoked to perfection. Great food and PBR on tap what else can you ask for? The owner Mike came over to us and introduced himself with a sample of brisket for us on a platter. He was very hospitable and gave us a few tips and places it stop on our trip into and around the U.P. Great little roadside stop, fresh and local ingredients ran by a man who cares about his food and his customers very much.
