Best Western Inn At the Rogue

More like 2 ½ star’s. Older dated property. Room smelled like perfume. Busy area with lots of traffic noise. Room was clean but dated. Bed was soft that I like. Walls very thin. The couple next door went at it for half a hour of head board banging fun. Front desk was good with a friendly girl working the counter. Not a lot of good choices in GP. Most likely won’t stay here again.

The staff at this hotel is extremely accommodating. The handicapped rooms are well equipped. A comfortable stay.

We had a great experience at this property. it was super quiet and clean. breakfast was good. the staff was super friendly and pleasant at check in and check out, and at all times in between. it was easy to find, parking was terrific. bed was great, towels were really thick, shower was super. our only disappointment was when we found no coffee available in the breakfast room in the evening.

I was worried since it looks like a rinky-​dink motel. But this place definitely deserves the 5 stars. It has its cons. The beds and pillows are hard and lumpy. The breakfast is meh. The parking is tight. But the pros every much not only even it out but made the stay pretty great! We stayed for 4 nights over Thanksgiving weekend. The first night we had the loudest most annoying neighbors in the connecting room. People are so damn rude! The next morning we asked if they were staying longer cause they were so loud and they switched us rooms right then and there! They even asked if they could help us with our luggage. That to me is fantastic customer service! The place is clean and well kept. Quiet at night, at least after the 1^st night. We definitely be staying here again. Oh and when my mother in law stayed here earlier this year they went out of there way to help her out too!

Other reviews I read before we arrived we very generous.
Cons: Rooms are dated, halls carpet dirty or stained, feels a little abandoned. Lumpy hard pillows on bed (but they have softer ones if you ask for them)
We weren’t asked if we wanted help with our bags even though our room was on the second floor with no elevator at the opposite end of the hall. Lots of truck & traffic noise as our room was near the road.
Pros: Super clean room! Good breakfast. Close to restaurants.
Customer service:
We paid for a king room and asked for an upgrade upon arrival. They said no problem, done. Given a king room which is what I paid for, not an upgraded room. We paid extra for a jacuzzi tub room sooooooo no upgrade :-(so much for being diamond members staying at Best Western at least 20 times at year. The place seemed empty by the way so it wouldn’t have hurt them to give an upgraded room at a king room price. Zach said there was nothing he could do so I assume he was telling the truth and it’s a owners policy. Never had this happen before tho.
Not a lot of options here in Rogue River so I guess I’d stay here again (over Grants Pass Best Western) since we always stay at Best Western.

The Inn at Rogue River, is a Best Western chain hotel. I booked our reservations through the BW website and the price was better than any of the online secondary provider services. Great front desk customer service, and check in was simple and a breeze, no problem with our two old dogs at all. We booked a «Pet friendly» room through the hotels website. As well the hotel is a completely no smoking inside hotel.
I have read Unilocal reviews of people complaining about their pet policy, but they booked rooms through secondary sources, like hotels or booking dot com. If you are traveling with your animal (s) you should expect to pay for it, and quite honestly it’s ridiculous to think otherwise.
If you use the best western website the pet friendly option for rooms is readily available and you should have no issues. And anyone traveling with pets should use this over the secondary booking sources, as they do not show the pet friendly option.
Located right off the I-​5, just outside the town of Rogue River (west side) at Exit 48, the hotel is literally the first one you see at the exit.
Though busy during our recent visit, the hotel was quiet, very convenient for getting around the area and the multiple parking lots allowed for easy parking.
There is a small gated and enclosed pool and spa area, that was nice and towels are provided at the front desk, just ask.
A very nice benefit of this hotel is the awesome breakfast, served from 6 – 10 every morning. This is not like most hotel at all — this complimentary breakfast has scrambled eggs and a daily varying breakfast meat, along with biscuits and gravy, two types of waffles, bagels, muffins, and other baked goods, various cereals, yogurts, a couple juices, coffee, assorted teas and different fruit choices. This is one of the nicest complimentary breakfasts I have ever seen.
Comfortable beds though a little hard for my liking, my wife thought they were great. The rooms are a decent size, and fairly appointed with a mini fridge, microwave, table with two chairs, flat screen, coffee maker, hair dryer, extra storage and a nice sized bath room, with a shower/​tub combo — the shower had plenty of hot water as well and good pressure.
This is a very nice hotel for the area, and the customer service is excellent. Yes, there is no elevator to upstairs, but that is about the only down side. Recommended to anyone traveling with pets, just be sure to book a pet friendly room (use the Best Western website — you will get a better rate) and you should have no issues at all.
We will stay here again, next time we are visiting the area with our dogs.

REALLY BAD /​/​GM BRIAN P. /​/​/​RUDE AND INEPT
Pet friendly hotel — um not that pet friendly
My wife and I booked a trip to Oregon to see some family members. We bought our reservations online seeking a pet friendly hotel. This hotel advertised pet friendly. When selecting our room online there was NOT AN OPTION distinguishing a pet friendly room. In fact there was just «rooms» available.
Thinking that we were automatically getting a pet friendly room, paid for two nights. We showed up with our dog and stayed for two nights. When checking in –no one at the front desk confirmed with us that we supposedly did not have a pet friendly room.
Five days after we left the hotel we were booked a $ 50 per night penalty fee no warning, no call, just charged to our credit card.
I tried to explain the situation to general manager Brian P. As he kept trying to tell us that we needed to pick a pet friendly room online. HASHTAG ALERT BRIAN!**** THERE WASN’T AN OPTION!!! Why would your guests automatically have to assume their pet friendly hotel room wasn’t pet friendly!
Before this happened I wasn’t even going to write a review mentioning having to carry my luggage up the stairs because they had no elevator. Not a big deal but uncomfortable.

Originally I was going to give 3 stars for things like stained carpet, dirty shower mat, odd smell in room, getting locked out of our room after the first day bc they didn’t put the correct number of days when we checked in, Internet code not working the second day for same reason, loud AC. BUT then comes the extra $ 100 charge we see on our credit card bill for a pet cleaning fee. So I called the manager (Brian Paine) to explain that on
(where I booked the reservation) it states they are a pet friendly hotel AND I called before we booked the room to confirm they are a pet friendly hotel and was told yes. His response is that we should’ve chosen the pet friendly room when booking, which was a more expensive room then the one we booked. The only problem is, that wasn’t an option! And since it wasn’t an option, I didn’t know they had separate rooms. How the heck am I supposed to know that even though the website says your pet friendly and the staff says your pet friendly, it’s only for specific rooms? As it turns out, we booked the last room available which we found out only bc we wanted to switch rooms when we first got there. Brian also told me that no one knew we had a pet until we checked out, which is a lie because at least 4 different staff members saw us with our dog including the 2 women who cleaned our room the day after we got there. He offered a refund of $ 70 out of the $ 100 but since holding onto that additional $ 30 was so important to him, I made a point to write this review. There’s nothing worse than not really enjoying your stay somewhere and feeling like it wasn’t that clean to begin with, and then seeing an additional «cleaning» charge on your credit card after you leave.

Not one thing to complain about. Raves would be the customer service. Especially good was the front desk staff. Maids and breakfast wait staff surprisingly friendly and helpful.

I was traveling from Seattle back down to Los Angeles and stopped by this place last minute in the middle of the night they were able to accommodate my family and provide a clean comfy room and great service. From 6am –10am they provide a inclusive hot breakfast with everything from waffles Danishes scrambled egg toast oatmeal fruit coffee tea and biscuits and Garvey and a few other goodies. Overall I was 100% satisfied and would definitely return on another trip :)

The facility was clean and well-​maintained. The staff was friendly. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

My first impression was how clean it was.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The location was amazing because the park with walking path and Rogue River (with a small beach) is across the street and my dog loved it.
The parking was difficult with one side of the building tight and LOTS of cars and trucks. And, parallel parking on the other side didn’t make it easy to pull in and out with a truck.
The smell smoke permeates the hallways.
The pillows were funky. Awkward stuffing for each of them. The bed was average.
The sink was outside of the bathroom, right near the front door and kind of in the room. So the layout is weird.
Regarding PETS: There are no trash cans outside to put your bags of poop so you see there are piles of poop in the grass.
I will look for a different place to stay next time I come.

I am not happy at all with our accommodations here. I will be sure never to come again and will warn all my friend to avoid this place. Getting a single queen bed for a 2 adult room booking is insulting especially after spending $ 100! The lady at the front desk wanted to charge us an extra $ 50 for the king bed!!! I travel a lot and this is the worst and most unfriendly place I have ever lodged. Sorry.

Shopping for local real estate this summer and fall, I made three trips from Nebraska to Grants Pass and stayed three separate times at the Best Western Inn at the Rogue, because my first stay there was so wonderful. I brought a big lively dog with me and was so excited to discover, our first morning there, a park! Right across the road from our room! We went there twice a day, every day we were there — in total, 15 – 20 days this summer. I stayed at one other place before finding this place to stay while in Grants Pass; this is where I returned. The breakfast bar was always well stocked and well tended; they learned I had a dog in the room, so they made a special effort to help me spoil my dog and bring him something from the breakfast bar… so thoughtful! One morning I discovered my car battery died; through a series of Wonderful Adventures and Amazing Coincidences, the staff members at the Inn as well as others staying there, helped me get my car going again. It was always very pleasant, staying there, and I felt very comfortable and attended-​to. The rooms are newly updated and the decorating is current, the bed was always comfortable, the towels were lovely and plush and absorbent… my third stay there, it was like I was an old friend to everyone there…“oh, it’s you again… how’s your real estate search going?” it was just a great experience. Would definitely recommend the Inn at the Rogue. And now I’ve moved to Grants Pass, so I probably won’t return, except to say «thanks, guys! You made my stay!»

Go elsewhere & save a lot of $$ if any in your group is over 12yr old.
If you love being overcharged for an absurd reason & want to sleep on very lumpy pillows & a bed that is a brick. Stay here. I normally love the consistency of all Best Westerns. I have stayed at many over the years. Were a generally healthy little family so I’m not too needy for the most part I would say. I have now changed my mind on Best Westerns. Upon Entering, hearing loud country music. Not terribly professional feeling. And a Warning. If you have more then 2 people over 12yr old in your group DO NOT stay at Best Western Rogue. Even if it’s your own children/​family. We had my mom, her 2 kids, husband & 4yr old grand daughter. 2 queen bed room. We were charged the $ 86 for the normal rate. Yes this is reasonable. Then an ADDITIONAL $ 30 «extra people charge» A 2 queen bed room is occupancy of 4 correct? Not unreasonable I wouldn’t think. Not here!!! I did inquire about this because I just couldn’t believe it. To no avail. I feel sorry for family’s who have kids over 12yr, especially if it’s more then 1 or 2 kids! Feels like a penalty! It’s mean. Just my opinion.
The next issues we had here. Upon entering in our room. Smelled like dirty armpits the moment we entered the room. Looked clean but stunk! We all discussed it after we left & came back to our room. GROSS! Now thee beds/​pillows. The pillows are the lumpiest I’ve ever felt in my life. The bed made me actually sore within ½hr because it was so hard. I’m sore & tired because I couldn’t sleep. The others in our family had the same problem. I have stayed at other BW that were far superior in every way. Not sure if it’s the entire franchise or just this particular owner. Just a warning for folks like us. It’s a shame. We won’t forget this experience.

This was our first night of a 5-​day Harley ride up and down Western Oregon. This was a top-​notch Best Western with truly outstanding rooms, comfortable beds, an abundance of comfortable pillows, refrigerator, microwave, and a totally excellent hot breakfast. A short walk over the Rogue River bridge was a great little bar with outstanding food and excellent drink prices.
For the style of roadside motels like Best Western is known for, this place was great with everything any traveler could ever hope or ask for. Truly outstanding staff (Amber & Paula) and a great overnight stay!

I was so impressed with this place. Amazing service, big clean rooms, and an amazing full hot breakfast each morning. Sausage, Biscuits and Gravy, Waffles, fruit, juice, eggs, etc. etc. Total deal.

I’m giving it 4 stars because no BW is a 5 star. This is no grande hotel, so if that is what you want, move on. It is however, very clean, quiet, and tucked away from the freeway noise. It’s 6 miles south of GP and is across the street from the river. The staff are friendly and helpful. Good for a stay over while traveling, but unless you’re here for a reason, it’s no vacation spot. Big room, good bed, nice tv, clean and quiet. What else do you need? Oh restaurants in the area close early but they are good if you catch them open.

This review is for my parents stay:
They stayed here last night while coming through town. Daniel (front desk) was seriously awesome and sooooooooo helpful. He offered them FREE laundry detergent, hooked them up with the ‘managers’ special (on top of their AARP rate) since they booked 3 rooms and was so friendly and willing to go out of his way.
The rooms were of a good size, clean, quiet and it really was a peaceful visit.
The breakfast was might tasty as well. Fresh juice & fruit, plenty of hot & cold items and all you can eat.
They had a great nights rest and will surely remember this place for their future travels.
