I recently bought a Hyundai Tiburon GT 2006 from Grapevine Motors and the car looked and ran great during the test drive and for about a week after I drove it off the lot, it wasn’t until about a week later that the check engine light came on and I, being concerned because my previous cars engine had blown up the week prior due to faulty mechanic work, went and got the vehicle checked out. It turned out that the transmission fuel temperature sensor was out and that was keeping my transmission from keeping cool. Once I figured out the problem I immediately called Grapevine Motors, they offered to do a free diagnostic and once the problem was certain looked into buying the part to fix it free of charge. Long story short they actually ended up giving me $ 220 cash to go fix it elsewhere due to the inconvenience it would have been for me to take off work another day to take my car back to them in grapevine for repair when the part came in while I work in McKinney. They were always extremely nice and professional in both the car buying experience and after the fact when I came to them with a problem, I would recommend them to anyone looking to buy a used car.

On June 10, 2015, I bought a 2004 Suburban from Grapevine Motors. I told Tim that I needed a good vehicle since it was for my daughter and my three small grand babies. He told me that if anything happened in the next few months to let him know and he would take of it. Well, a week and a day later (on the day the check cleared) the check engine light came on and the engine reduced to half power and the air stopped working. I called Tim and he said oh well you have had it almost two weeks and it could be anything. With all the rain we have had, may be you got bad gas. Well, I was shocked! Not the response I expected. I took it to Auto Zone and had the light turned off and hoped for the best. The next week the check engine light came on repeatedly. I took it to a mechanic who replaced a part for $ 520.00. Hoping that would be it, I drove it a couple of weeks until the check engine light came on again. So it went back to the shop. In September, I was driving it, and as I turned the corner the vehicle died in mid turn! I started it again, and it died again as I was turning into my driveway! Back to the shop it went. The mechanic replace another part for $ 210.00. My daughter and I are terrified to drive this vehicle! We are both panic stricken wondering if it is going to stop running on the freeway. Now we have a vehicle that we are afraid to drive, and Tim has our money. I told Tim how important it was that I get a good vehicle for my daughter and grand babies. Now I am stuck with a piece of junk and a promise from a dealer who played Christian music and didn’t back his word.
Wow the message I received on the BBB reply was quite a contrast to the nice message I received on this sight. I will post it so you can see the response and demeaning way he talks to his customers.
«And this is the exact response I would expect from you. I told you to bring the vehicle to me and I would check it. We had and abundance of rain this summer and your problem did sound like bad gas. You never brought me the car to check but chose to take it to your own mechanic twice, and he did a pre purchase inspection during the three days you had posession of the vehicle. When you had a complaint, the cd player, i jumped right on it and replaced it. when you called me about the running issue, I said get it to me. You chose to have your mechanic repair it. You obviously have NOT read my online reviews as they are excellant for 20 years with the exception of bogus disgruntled finance customers that we reposessed for non payment… Now you are Threatening me (blackmail) to do something or you will ruin my reputation. Who is the Christian? You still have not asked me to fix the problem,. You said you didn’t trust me to fix it or even swap it out with another vehicle. Just more threats and complaints. Did you write this same complaint about your mechanic that couldn’t fix it???
Since I am being blackmailed to fix a problem I know nothing about, I will give you 1 chance to bring it to me, bring the receipts for what parts your mechanic has thrown at it and I will fix it right… I am not wrong here and you know I said bring it in but you couldn’t, and now 4 months later I get this threatening complaint. Do not question my Christianity as I have not questioned yours for your tactics and I’m willing to do the right thing if you have the ability to admit that I am not in the wrong and bring your car in… With that said, I have no mechanic but myself, I am aware another mechanic charged you and tried to fix it so I will be very precise about the repair and I will not just throw parts at it so it could take a week or two to sort it out. The balls in your court… »
You said in your reply above that I never asked you to fix the problem. If that is true, how could I have ever said I didn’t trust you to fix the problem, nor did you at any time offer to swap it out with another vehicle. That must have been another unhappy customer! All I hear is you blaming the bad gas and my mechanic that messed up the truck. My mechanic did not throw parts at the truck. With someone responding to me in such a demeaning way and threatening tone, I would hesitate to have any other contact with this dealership. I unfortunately did not read all of the reviews on this company before purchasing this vehicle! I wish I had! Buyer beware!

I have purchased 2 cars from Blake at Grapevine Motors. An 02 BMW 530i and an 02 Mustang Convertible. Blake shoots straight with you and will point out all negatives of the car before you buy it not try to hide anything. On the BMW, we had an 02 sensor go out first week, and they immediately took it in and changed it out. We had another error, and they made a diagnostic appt with the dealership to get a more detailed opinion and again had it fixed at their cost. People need to remember, these are used cars, and Blake’s price is well below market. They will go out of their way to help you.
I recommend Grapevine Motors and Blake to anyone looking for an older used car!
