Based on our many years of experience decorating cakes and our passion for customizing cakes, Sweet Indulgence provides the most Beautiful, Delicious, and Affordable wedding cakes in the DFW metroplex. We will work with you and your budget. We also specialize in pastry and special orders for any special occasion, Weddings, Showers, Anniversaries, and Corporate Events.

History

Established in 2009.

In 2012: Sweet Indulgence Bakery has moved to 230 E. College St. right off Historic Downtown Grapevine Main St. We have out grown our little café and have moved to better serve the needs of our customers. We now have more room to take more wedding/​custom cake orders.

In 2009: Formerly known as Crumbles Cupcakes, Sweet Indulgence Bakery has added pastries and specialty custom wedding and custom cakes to the cupcakes of this location in Historical Downtown Grapevine. Recently we have just remodeled and added a full service coffee bar, FREE Wi-​Fi Café (one of the very few places where you can sit and relax from shopping), more of a deli type menu, and skinny cow ice-​cream treats. We are located inside Miscellaneous, are known for our $ 4.99 Main St. Special and $ 1.00 ice cream cones. We also have added Fruit Smoothies to their established café.

Based on his many years of experience decorating and customizing cakes, our pastry chef, Luis, provides Grapevine and the DFW metroplex with Beautiful, Delicious, and Affordable wedding and custom cakes. Being a bakery manager of several bakery chains and ultimately a pastry chef for many years, he provides the perfect balance for the aesthetics and the palette.

I wanted to like this place, I really did. Cute, clean shop. Friendly employees. However, their cupcakes have so much sugar in them that with your eyes shut, you won’t be able to identify which cupcake flavor you are eating. Shut your eyes, take a bite, and try to identify. You can’t, all you taste is high octane sugar. While the cupcakes are pretty, they don’t taste that great and the sugar content is so high that your teeth will hurt, at least mine did. I won’t be returning.

Sweet Indulgence Bakery is situated in downtown Grapevine, a district not too much of a tourist destination, if I do say so myself. Fortunately, many a local shop have set up in this close-​knit community, from bakeries to mom and pop diners, all the way to cottages that sell cupcakes. See SIB.
This cupcakery advertises itself to be the only one of its kind in DFW, one that sells 20+ different filled cupcakes everyday. I guess that is something to be proud of, huh? It is also very much in to the custom-​made cakes sort of thing. Perhaps they make a mean wedding cake.
I gave the German chocolate a shot, and it was pretty gooey and moist, as a chocolate cake should be. It was nearly soggy with all its buttery texture, but it was just decadent overall. The coconut pecan filling was one of those things that would surely give you a guilt trip about inducing the necessary sugar crash.
I honestly think that this cupcake trend has allowed many a cake institution an excuse to now move toward making an extra $ 2.75 times X amount of cupcakes sold additional income per day, simply because people are buying cupcakes like wildfire. I have thought this would die down for quite some time, but it hasn’t happened yet. So while it is cool to buy cupcakes, give this one a shot.

I had a service experience so ridiculous, it’s laughable:
Recently, my sister and I hosted a retirement/​farewell party for our parents (I live in Austin, my sister lives north of Dallas). Our party was set at a wine bar on Main Street in Grapevine and I was thrilled to find a bakery on the same street.
We needed cupcakes for Saturday. On Thursday, I had trouble ordering via their website. I called the shop, explained my situation and the owner directed me to their new website– he told me to order and he would call to confirm for Saturday. I did just that… didn’t get a confirmation Thursday afternoon… or Friday…
Left Austin Saturday morning, called the bakery to check on my order for 4:00 pick-​up. The same gentleman awkwardly explained that they were in the middle of changing locations and did not have their new permits. So. They weren’t actually baking cupcakes. In his words, they were «not in business for a few weeks.» Oh, but he reassured me they would be back to filling cupcake orders in about a month. I kindly reminded him that was zero help to me, as I live out of town and needed cupcakes for that afternoon.
Perhaps this was a miscommunication but what I truly don’t understand is why no one called or emailed to tell me my order couldn’t be filled (this information was supplied on my online order form). Or why –WHY??- it’s not mentioned anywhere on their website that the business is on hold. (when I pointed this out, I got a «yeeeeah, sorry about that.»)
Good thing I arrived in town early enough for a detour to Society Bakery in Dallas. Saved the day!

Just had a triple stack cupcake. At Sweet indulgence bakery in Grapevine fantastic cupcakes. Very nice Setting very nice people come on and get a tasty cupcake made from scratch. They are refrigerated but still fresh — the icing stays much tastier mildly chilled. Just ate a chocolate one too. Wow!

You wouldn’t think there would be cupcakes inside a store named Miscellaneous… and you wouldn’t think they would have 20+ flavors all filled with crème… but they do!
Plenty of flavors to choose from-​many are fun & inventive like strawberry lemonade or raspberry amaretto. It’s a good place to get cupcakes if you’re in the area and craving something sweet.

Wow… That is all I can say about these cup cakes!
Let me start by saying a few years ago for my daughter’s high school graduation party we had a cupcake tree. We sampled cupcakes from the area. We tried grocery store, bakeries and specialty shops. So we’ve had lots of cupcake tasting.
Now on to the present…
My husband bought a Groupon for a dozen cupcakes. He took me on my birthday and I got to pick all all the flavors I wanted. I got a mixed assortment and so far each and everyone has been good. Some AMAZING!
I loved the Italian crème cake and thought the Lemon one was SO GOOD! The banana was good but compared to the others just not as spectacular.
I have to say I was really surprised how fabulous these are and now I just have to keep myself from eating 2 – 3 cupcakes a day as the assortment is in my kitchen.
Moist, flavorful, and not huge cup cakes. These are PERFECT in my book!

I went around sampling the cupcakes around the Grapevine area near the beginning of the year and this bakery was one on the list and I’ve recently come across it again.
Despite it’s many positive reviews I’d have to beg to differ on the items in the window. The frostings look store bought and the whipped cream looks and tastes fake. The pies look cracked and leaking and the greens for key-​lime were way too green to be natural. I can speak from experience, key lime pie is supposed to be pale yellow when scratch made.
The treats might be decorated nicely but a nice decoration doesn’t make up for the texture and flavor of non-​scratch-​made cake and tub icings and fake tasting whipped cream. Sorry but this bakery doesn’t make the cut for my palate.

I was in Grapevine today for a portrait shoot and noticed there were a ton of bakeries along the 3 blocks of the downtown district. Do not be distracted by the others! Sweet Indulgence is incredible! I initially chose this bakery because they had the widest variety of flavors: strawberry lemonade, Boston crème, key lime, banana split, chocolate raspberry, and on and on. I believe there are 20 different varieties. I couldn’t narrow it down to just a few, so I purchased a dozen and carried them home. They are priced at $ 1.99 each and they are just the right size, not so big you are overwhelmed, but not so small it is finished in 2 bites. I was completely stoked when I got home to discover that each cupcake had a fantastic filling inside. The banana split is filled with banana, the chocolate raspberry is filled with raspberry, the key lime is… well, you get the idea. The cupcake is just the right proportion of icing to cake, not overly sweet, and very flavorful. Add in the filling, and it is out of this world amazing! I am so excited to have discovered this place. They also make pastries and cakes, and I will definitely be ordering from (and visiting) them the next time I am in town.

I visited this cute little bakery yesterday during my lunch break, after someone at work came in raving about these GREAT cupcakes.
First I want to mention, what a great area it’s in. I’ve been living in the DFW area for a year now, but never knew downtown Grapevine even existed! Main Street is lined with cute little shops, and wineries, and restaurants. it’s just all too cute! I will definitely be making a trip out there when the weather is a little bit better =)
Anyways, since I’ve been, I have devoured 3 of the 7 cupcakes I had gotten (and boy did that take much self control!!!). The Chocolate Delight (at least that’s what I think it was called), the Boston Cream and the Strawberry Lemonade were moist, with creamy fillings and delectable toppings which made it hard to keep my fingers off of them!!! I am very pleased with my flavor choices, although I do have a couple more to munch up. But I’m pretty confident that the rest of them are just as great!
I know I will be back soon, and I suggest you get out there and try them too! ;)

I’ve never actually been to the shop, but I have the most precious vendor who will not stop bringing me things. Like, constantly. Luckily for me (and for the longevity of my ass-​dimples), one of those things is Sweet Indulgence cupcakes.
These little yum-​nuggets are just awesome. I think my favorite so far is Strawberry Lemonade — the cupcake is a little dab of lemon cake and a big dab of strawberry cake, topped with a swirl of pink strawberry frosting that surrounds a little button of lemon gel… which also is a filling through the middle of the cupcake!
Many of the other flavors follow that same format: two flavors of cake, frosting and a filling. The banana cake was awesome until I got the chunks of real banana in the filling, but that’s just me. I HATE fresh bananas, but I can see how awesome that would be if you were misinformed and thought they were actually edible. Red velvet, solid. Italian cream, delicious and walnutty. Chocolatey peanutbuttery something — kids go crazy over that one… and so on.
Basically, if you want a cupcake that’s generous but not oversized, cute but not tricked-​up, and deliciously moist and tasty, these guys have you covered.
And yeah, sorry — no pics from me. When she texts me «I got you some yum-​nuggets» (yes, that’s our shorthand for them now), I get all ramped up and forget to take photos before they’re just embarrassingly decimated. Woops.

Some of the most amazing cupcakes I’ve ever had! They are always fresh and melt in your mouth. The pastry chef, Luis, is always busy mixing up a new batch of cupcakes, or working on a cake for a special occasion. I will definitely be ordering a special birthday cake for my child, um, I mean husband in the Peanut Butter Chocolate. But be sure to try the Strawberry Lemonade, it’s my absolute favorite!
