Thank you all for a very pleasant and sane experience putting on a new roof and gutters. I wasn’t sure what to expect and I appreciated information as the journey progressed. I was well informed, truly impressed with their collective work ethic, and the ladies helped me change my mind a couple of times LOL. Quality company, work and staff. I will recommend you to all I can.

I went to the Fall home show at Cal Expo and someone from Byers was there. We filled out a card with them because we were interested in their gutters. He said they would call early November Was also told, the quote on the gutters was half off and good for a year. Never heard from them.. Mandy said, it was only for labor and not good for a year, but they were 2 – 4 weeks out. Never heard anything. I sent an email and was told my Mandy, that they tried and called twice, but never left a voice mail. I set up an appointment with Mandy for today at 4 with Tom. I got a call the other day confirming the appointment and Mandy said Tom was making a special trip to come out, so to call if you needed to cancel. Special trip??? I thought that’s what they did? So, I sent an email this am to cancel and heard nothing. A couple of hours later, I resent it and then I called. I spoke to Mandy, who said «oh I got your email», but she didn’t respond. How would I know if she didn’t respond. She wasn’t as bubbly and cheery as she was when she made the appointment. I hope the rest of the staff isn’t like her and saying they are making a «special trip» coming out and giving you estimates.

Did some research online prior to the sales reps arrival, expected $ 20-​$ 30/​linear foot. After walking off the 64 feet of gutter I needed the guy comes back with a price of… wait for it. $ 4,179!!! By my math that works out $ 65.30/ft!!! The rep explained that «Obamacare» and other costs have tripled their prices even though the price of aluminum has decreased in the past 18 months! What a waste of my time and the reps, he drove all the way to Benicia!!! I’ll Avoid at all costs unless I win the lottery or suddenly become paralyzed and unable to clean my own gutters. I like the product and the rep was a nice guy but way to pricey.

Redwood trees were filling my gutters to no end. Byers gets 5 stars. From estimate, scheduling, install, and close out, They answered all my questions, the workmanship was top notch. Quick, Polite, Professional, Expensive… The gutters look… wait for it. Awesome! So nice I wonder if they actually work… Interesting design. Not really concerned with catching leafs, worried that they may not catch the water. Will follow up when the Nino comes to town…

Fantastic Service. Had gutters installed several years ago. We had to make some changes in our yard which required a different configuration for a downspout. Thank you Jason and your team mate for coming up with a great solution!!!

DO NOT use this company for any roofing, well, probably any work. We wanted to hire locally, but it was a HUGE MISTAKE. Our re-​roofing job ($ 25,000) has been a disaster from day one. Still not resolved. Will post photos of the poor work as evidence — buckling, mismatched tiles, water damage during installation — the customer service has been the most disappointing we have experienced from any contractor in the Nevada City/​Grass Valley area. Jeff F. in particular, — is rude and disrespectful. May need legal support to get resolution at this point. Never written a negative review of any company — ever. Stay away !!!

Byers Leafguard did an awesome job installing brand new rain gutters at my house in Livermore, CA. What impressed me even more, was the prompt response to a couple of warranty issues that cropped up after the install. Installer Trevor gets an A+ rating for excellent customer communication skills, attention to details and technical abilities. Susan Vanderpol is a very capable and efficient manager at their main office. I would strongly recommend Byers Leafguard, if you have the money, and can afford «top of the line» rain gutters. These guys are top notch, no question about it!

Looking to bring more light into our home, I called Gabe At Byers, he was prompt and informative. He did not sell us anything we did not want. The installer Kent was very professional and a real gentleman. Thanks Guys!

Our gutters were installed 2 years ago. Very professional installation. I’m very happy with Byers.

We came across this gutter system at Costco and also at a home and garden show, their demonstration at the show was impressive, the wider downspouts and the lifetime warranty was something that really stood out. We got a in-​home demonstration and quote. After the guy measured the amount of gutters and downspouts we needed, he came up with a verbal quote. $ 8900 for the Leaf Guard and $ 5700 for the regular gutters (184 ft — 1400 sq ft home) We were shocked!!! the other quotes were much lower… we have had quotes for regular seamless gutter in the range of $ 1800 – 2500. We asked for a breakdown and he just told us that he did not have a breakdown and said «we are done here then?». No negotiations, no sales pitch, no reasons for why the price is so much higher… Just a simple «we are done here then?». wow.
I am not against paying more for quality and a good company backing up their workmanship, I think that is worth a lot but 2−3x more is ridiculous. Byers, you need better competitive pricing structure, and better trained field presentation staff.

We got 3 estimates and was pleased with the salesperson. He was very detailed on everything that needed to be done, at the same time he showed us how good the materials they were going to use on our house. What it boils down to is this:
You might fine it cheaper with other vendors, you think you’ll be saving money$$, but in reality you end up spending more money$$ for a cheap band aide fix.
The bottom line is YOU get what you pay for, and for us our Gutters are beautiful and neighbors are always asking who did your gutters and I’m proudly saying Byers Leafguard Gutter System. and if you go thru Costco you get an awesome rebate/​credit just for giving them a try. It’s well Worth It, I can’t say enough… They are Awesome, We love our New Gutters! Very happy customer! Try it and you’ll be happy too!

Update. Byers rep called and was not happy about not getting a positive review. He sent (after a week plus and after a review) a written quote. It was so brief I can not really see what is provided. If I had bought at the minute he was here it would have been $ 47.43 dollars per foot. If I buy now I believe it would be $ 55.34 per foot installed. Only about 500% higher then competitors (although not with leaf guard system).
Edgar did anger me as he made false statements but did admit that if a customer does not buy on the spot he does not expect them to buy so he had no interest in them (me this time). He lied stating there was no internet connection and we have awesome business quality internet so that was his false excuse why he provided nothing. He left a message saying he would provide management contacts but when I wanted them during our phone call the call disconnected.
BUYERS BEWARE.
A Byer’s rep came by without a clear appointment. He called stating he was in the area and could stop by to give price. We offered him our house plans to help as it was raining. He declined and was out side quite a while.
The presentation was OK but focused upon showing others gutters and his. I asked for detailed quote and he said he would e mail it. I asked for literature he said he would send some as he had none with him. Nothing has ever come and their web site does not have anyway to contact them. Beware. Very, very expensive and very evasive. No written quotes, No literature and zero follow up.
We never buy at first contact and this is a churn and burn operation. If you don’t buy immediately they burn your contact. Beware. The product may or may not be good but the operation seems too slick to be above board.
It amazes me that they can manage the internet to avoid their negatives. Maybe I just had an unusual experience. Buyer beware is always reasonable.

After seeing a Byers Solatubes commercial on TV I called and had them installed in my home & was tickled pink with the process and results. Kent, the installer, did a fantastic job. I loved the Solatubes so much I called them back and told them to please come back & install another one. I now have four and they make a huge difference. Now I just have to break the habit of trying to flip the light switch off when it’s already off each time I leave the room because it’s so bright. I don’t know how I went so long without them. I could not recommend Byers roofing and gutters more highly. They were professional and prompt and competent every step of the way. The steep, difficult roof was done quickly and beautifully with attention to every detail including the new gutters. Every person I had contact with was helpful, informative and supportive.
You couldn’t do better!

Byers’ Leaf Guard Systems comes highly recommended and have a patented gutter protection systems that certainly merits consideration. That said, I asked for and received a bid. For 265 linear feet of Leaf Guard Gutters installed, the bid was $ 10,750. I asked for a breakdown of labor and materials and was told «we don’t do that». I asked how many workers and how many days of work? I was told «one day and 4 to 5 workers». So I figured at best each worker might be paid $ 50 hour and figured 5 workers would be paid $ 2000 for the day. Do the math ($ 10,750 — $ 2,000 = $ 8,750 /​265 linear feet of gutter suggests $ 33 per linear foot for an ALUMINUM gutter. Standard .032 aluminum gutters cost ~ $ 5 to $ 9 installed. So you put a «patented» lid on it and the cost is $ 40 foot installed? This is an I Q test. Wasted my time

First of all I will describe my situation.
My home is in the middle of the forest. It is directly under a huge sugar pine (150′ +) and surrounded by douglas firs, oak, and ponderosa pines. Although it is a single story home (very long width), the elevation is such that the roof on one end of the home is 25 feet off the ground.
For 3 years I had to climb on the roof and clear the rain drains of leaves, limbs, and the pine pollen which clogged up the drains several times during the winter rains. It was not fun on a ladder in freezing cold and rain to do this job, not to mention the inherent danger.
I tried installing metal protecters I purchased from Home Depot, but they just did not work and made cleaning even more difficult.
I finally saw the Leaf Guard system at Costco and the demo was enough to give them a try. It was not cheap and the cost was over $ 7000, but measured against the chance of falling off the roof and working in the pouring rain I thought it was well worth it.
They came out and did the measurement and estimate and several weeks later the crew came out and did the installation. The shaping and cutting of the gutters from the truck was an interesting process. They crew installed the gutters and I was impressed by their work.
I waited for 1 ½ years to write this review since I wanted to see if they really worked. Believe me they really do work! I have climbed on a ladder several times to see how much debris was in the gutter. It has been completely empty every time.
I can safely say the $ 7000 spent was one of the best investments I have every made.

Just moved to my second home in the area, and the first thing I did was to have these guys come out and put on gutters. They’re expensive, but you won’t EVER have a problem with gutters again – no clogging, leaks, overflows, rotting eaves or fascia boards. They’re thoroughly professional, and quick. In this area with our heavy winter rains, leaves and pine needles galore, this is the solution.

They just left my house, but to describe why I think they deserve 5 stars and even more is below in the letter I wrote the president of the company to go with the survey they give you to send him.

Your survey does not give enough room to describe what I wanted! There, that is the one thing I would improve on. It just doesn’t do justice for your crews that came out. I wanted to really let you know how great your crews that came out were. Not just the install crew, but the cut and drop crew, and your office crew.
I met your sales rep at the Sacramento Home and Garden Show. My husband and I didn’t think you would travel to Napa, and were delighted when he said you would. We have two large walnut trees along our house, and the squirrels are awful with hiding their nuts in the downspouts, etc. Your product was one that we felt would work. We did online research before a rep, Leland I think his name was, came to our home, and we were already excited to have your product on our home.
Susan played phone tag with me for a while due to my work hours, but we were finally able to get in touch and schedule the cut and drop. I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I have worked many construction crews with my father growing up, and am usually more than disappointed with crews that come out nowadays. Your cut and drop crew was on time, and were more than accommodating on placing the product for the install crew. I was overjoyed to see that they were these clean cut respectful men. There was no hassle at all. The product wasn’t just tossed on the ground either, it had scrap pieces under and around so that the gutters wouldn’t get scratched and damaged.
When your install crew arrived, on time, I was still a little hesitant with who I would be dealing with. Jason and Zeth were just as respectful and clean cut as the cut and drop crew. It was pouring rain, and high winds, but they carried on and got the job done. I felt so bad that they were out in the storm doing this as I sat in my nice warm home, but they didn’t seem fazed by it. On the final walk thru, Jason described to me the slop of the gutters, what the smaller pieces were in place for (our house roof is a puzzle piece itself!). Both of them went above and beyond any expectations I could ask for.
Thank you for hiring such wonderful people to work for your company, and thank you for the wonderful product that is on my house! I hear no loud drops, leaks, etc like I was before. Its so nice!

We just had our new LeafGuard gutters installed by the Byers team. The guys (Trevor and Reuben) did a fantastic job. They showed the utmost professionalism and took pride in their work. I was very happy with their installation and the performance of the gutters after the first rain storm yesterday. Mike, who provided the initial estimate was a good guy too, and he was a pleasure to deal with.
Keep in mind, however, that the LeafGuard system is not cheap. I’d wager that it is 2 – 2.5X the price of traditional gutters. But you really do get what you pay for. The gutters were definitely premium gutters and beefy. They look great too and come with a lifetime transferable warranty, and a no clog guarantee to boot. They will come out and clean them if needed for the life of your house! Byers has been around a long time so I’m pretty confident they will be around for the future if needed.
I purchased the gutters through Costco, which gives you a decent discount through a cash card 4 – 6 weeks after install. The discount was about 12% off the quoted price for me (your mileage may vary?) If you pay for the gutters using your Costco Amex and have the Exec membership, you’ll get a bonus 2% back from Costco along with the 1% back from Amex!
Anyways, if you are looking for something very high quality and willing to pay up for it, go to Costco and set up an appointment.
