Nevada Union High School. People claim that high school is either the best time of your life or the worst. I think It was average. What wasn’t average were my teachers. They were incredible! I remember each and every one of them. They were always there to help out their students and never once told them that they couldn’t do something. Four Teachers get gold metals. Mr. Ford — The Computer Teacher, Taught me Computer Aided Design, Microsoft Office, and Web Design Which I use every day at work Mr. Brown — Speech Teacher for Seniors, Helped me with my senior project and thanks to him, and Alice, I can now give speeches in public. And Rob Metcalfe — Never were we to call our drama teacher Mr. Metcalfe. Automatic stare of confusion. It was great! We sat on the floor, did improv, and it was one of the most engaging classes I have ever taken. The fourth was my Transition to Algebra 2 Teacher. For some reason I can’t think of his name D: No! Anyway, it was a laid back class, and we learned easily from him. He was always fun, and threw pens at the people who fell asleep. Haha. There are a few sketchy teachers on campus, so I hear from my friends and my sister, but most of them look out for their students. The PrinciPAL Marty, Was just that. He was our PAL. He wasn’t intimidating and he wanted to hear what the students had to say. Memorable Experiences — Ninja on the Roof, Running around campus with no shoes on, and of course my friend Brendan in a Cheerleaders Outfit. I suggest this school to those who want to not only do well, but have fun at school as well! — Sincerely, Katlady(The girl who wore cat ears for 2 Years)

I hated this school. It was a living hell with teachers as mean and ignorant as a lot of the students. A lot of the staff don’t care about the students well being. Assembly line school. Forest Charter on the other hand, great high school.

I went to this school and it is a good school regardless of what it’s current student say. It’s hard to appriciate many things within this small town without getting out and experiencing otherwise. The majority of the teachers are open and caring though there are always a few bad apples. Many outstanding teachers though who encourage their students. Wide array of clubs and sports and great school spirit.

I have one student in attendance here, and he likes the place a lot. It is a big school, 2500 students, but offers so many different clubs, sports and other activities that anyone who tries can find his/her niche. The principal, Marty Mathiesen, has been here for a few years now, which is more than can be said for his five predecessors. One-and-out was the norm for years, unfortunately for the students. But Marty seems to have the situation in hand. Interested parents can get up-to-date info via the school’s website on their childrens’ academic performance. There is a wide variety of sports teams, for boys and girls both. Fortunately, NUHS does not overemphasize sports. The librarians are also a big plus.
