Our school specializes in teaching children Kung Fu, focusing on physical and mental development, like building their self esteem and confidence, developing their focus and concentration, while improving their balance, coordination, strength and flexibility, Kung Fu San Soo is also a true form of self defense, so the students will also learn a very valuable skill set of self defense.

History

Established in 1989.

I opened Phillips School of Kung Fu San Soo in 1989 in Grass Valley, CA. Since that time I have taught thousands of men, women and children self defense, and my program has been offered in almost every public school in Nevada County. I have also taught self defense in colleges and junior colleges in northern California, taught special self defense programs internationally, and trained law enforcement personnel. Phillips School of Kung Fu San Soo is the longest operating martial arts school in Nevada County.

Business Owner

I have been training in martial arts since 1979, and started training in the art of San Soo in 1982. I received my black belt at the age of 16, and my eighth degree black belt /​Masters in 1996. I also have my AA degree in business, and my BA in Organizational Communications and Public Relations.
