Vans Auto Body & Paint

Over the years I have had repairs done due to deer strikes, rear-​ended, etc. at most of the major body shops in the Grass Valley area. Van’s is the only shop that leaves not a clue as to which panel or part of the vehicle was repaired. One of the major body shops in the area used the wrong type of paint on a front bumper resulting in cracking and peeling of the paint within a year. Van’s paint matching and repair workmanship is fist class.

I called Van’s after having called several other body shops on Christmas Eve, 2010. The bumper on my VW Jetta had been knocked off the front of the car — a problem that is a result of a design flaw in this model. I desperately needed someone to fix the bumper so that I would be able to drive myself home to the Bay Area two days later. I was sure I’d never find someone until I reached one of the guys at Van’s. He asked me to bring the car down to the shop immediately and he’d work on it. He said he’d re-​attached bumpers on Jettas before and was familiar with the situation. I was shocked to come across anyone even working at 3pm on Christmas Eve, much less someone who actually asked me to bring it on in.
I arrived at Van’s 30 minutes later with my car. Immediately, the gentleman I spoke with stopped what he was doing and started in on the car. Since the bumper had come off numerous times before, the structure in place was already fairly damaged. The bumper had to be put back in place in a very clever and labor-​intensive manner. After about 45 minutes or and hour, the job was done. The bumper looked great and having watched how it was reattached, I knew that it wouldn’t come off easily again.
You might assume in a case like this that the customer would have to pay a lot to get an emergency job done like this. However, Van’s was super generous and reasonable. I ended up paying much less than I had expected. I am very impressed with the integrity and dedication that I experienced with the guys at Van’s. Next time I need to go to a body shop in Grass Valley, I won’t hesitate to go to Van’s.
