If you are used to an expertly made tomato sauce you know that it is never sweet. The chef at Gondolier hasn’t got a clue. Their sauce tasted like someone dumped a sack of sugar into it. I ordered a pasta dish and told the waitress I wanted it cooked al dente. Then I had to explain al dente(firm). VERYDISAPPOINTING

Good food, good service, reasonable prices. Coming from New York this isn’t as good as many places up north, but it’s certainly passable.

Being new to the area, we were looking for good eating places. Someone recommended the Gondolier. We’ve been there a number of times and are always pleased with the food. We especially enjoy the Greek platter and the Philly Cheese steak pizza with Alfredo sauce is awesome. Overall a good choice for casual dining.

I came here thinking the food would be similar to their other locations but was sadly disappointed. I was craving a gyro and their amazing breadsticks but neither of them tasted as good as I remembered. I love gondoliers but this location may not be the best representation of the chain.

Good Italian food. I occasionally dine here when visiting family in the Greeneville. Can’t go wrong with the pizza however the menu is extensive. Five of us in total dined and only two of us got pizza because they have lots of pasta and specials. No one complained about their meal, everyone seemed happy. Breadsticks are amazing(think Papa John’s only fresher), marinara sauce with them is definitely a little iffy though(thin, flavorless and possibly canned tomato soup). Only downside is that they can’t(or don’t) serve wine at the restaurant. Hard to get Italian food with no wine, but well worth a trip. Delicious(even as cold pizza the next day!)

The Italian food is not at all delicious. The sauce is bland and most likely canned. Lasagna should be taken off menu if it’s going to be prepared in such a manner. Pizza dough and calzones are decent, but the toppings are canned or prepackaged. Service is good. Perhaps the Greek food on the menu is better, and if so, change restaurant name to Gondolier Greek food and pizza.

Service was good. But probably the blandest Italian food I have ever had. Very light on the garlic and little other spices. They have pretty good bread and baked goods.

Surprisingly very good. Small towns can be hit or miss on family restaurants. Had the manicotti, delish! Service excellent with a most pleasant and energetic attitude. A willingness to serve and make sure you get what you want. Worth a first(& subsequent) try at least while in or passing through town.

I came here without high expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the ravioli with a salad and both were outstanding. The service was fast and very friendly, and I will definitely eat here again!
