History

Established in 1956.

In 1956, Robert Starr opened his insurance agency to help protect his neighbors, their homes and families. Family stability generates from a solid work environment, and in 1981, Robert’s son Tim joined him in business. Tim’s focus on the protection of businesses and their employees has provided the best Commercial Insurance, Risk Solutions and Group Benefits for companies throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

In 1985, Mary Starr joined the agency to champion «Corporate Culture» and it’s Wellness program. The results range from the 2011 BBB «Torch Award for Ethics», to being named the 2015 «Best Place to Work For — Midwest» by the Insurance Journal. It is no wonder Robert’s grandson Nick Starr followed into the family business in 2011.

The Starr Group is one of Milwaukee’s largest independent insurance agencies with a staff of 35 highly qualified individuals, certified, licensed and specializing in every aspect of Personal and Commercial insurance and Group Benefits.
