Small fish and lobster gem in Greenpoint, my favorite unique part being the rosé on tap.

Fish is fresh and make stuff is nice, if u ask them questions about fish, they will explain nicely.
It is Fish Market but doesn’t smell bad :)
I always go there get fish for dinner.

Went to Greenpoint F&L Co this morning for brunch with a few friends. Love the clean, relaxed environment. The food quality was fantastic and innovative — had a custom beverage, oysters, breakfast taco (fried oysters and scrambled eggs), and a regular fish taco. All tasted very fresh. Also, for those who like perfectly cooked sunny-​side up eggs, my two friends ordered the hash. Those yolks were barely holding together without popping — perfect. The service was fast and friendly, food was served quickly. Would strongly recommend this to anyone who likes seafood — they keep the menu moving and don’t just serve the same old tuna or salmon you’d find most places. Mix up that palette! Stop by GP Fish & Lobster, they’ll probably have something you haven’t tasted before.

Pretty good food. Reminded me of the awesome seafood stalls in st. joseps market in Barcelona. The first thing you notice: it doesn’t smell fishy. Great sign of fresh seafood, a clean kitchen and high-​qual maintenance. The space is nice and cozy with seats at a bar facing the chefs and high-​top seats along the wall.
They were out of razor clams :(
My husband and I ordered:
–New England chowder: this is not to be missed. I felt like I was back in the womb, it was that warm and comforting. This was an excellent soup, made with their fish broth (which they sell for $ 10/​quart)
–octopus carpaccio: the portion was teeny-​tiny. Like 8 little pieces of cut up octopus on 3 slices of radish for $ 12. Think they can be more generous. Nothing special taste or tenderness-​wise
–fish tacos: 2 tile-​fish tacos with radish, cilantro and a type of mayonnaise. We got these grilled so they had a smoky flavor.
–whole fried fish: a red fish (that’s the name, not just the color). Very good. Reminds me of the fried fish we ate in northern Thailand. I usually don’t suck meat off bones but I couldn’t help trying to eat more. Wish the fish had more meat on it.
All in all, pretty good food. Wish the pricing was a bit more fair but I would dine there again.

What a gem! Chill and relaxed environment and pleasant service.
Came early evening on a Saturday and plenty of tables available. Sat at a high top table and ordered the variety of oysters (4 of each — 12 total, for $ 34) and threw in the Uni ($ 9) in shell. Freshest and cleanest oysters I have ever had and I eat oysters everywhere. Loved that the oysters were so cold and chilled. Really brought out crispness in flavor. I put some Uni on my oysters (cause I’m a genius like that) and damn it was so good (if only I came during happy hour I would be eating my oyster with Uni by the dozens!!!).
Bummed they ran out of mussels that night but opted for the fried fish tacos (pollock that night — $ 12 — really good albeit a bit small) and Brussel sprouts ($ 9). Throw in two glasses of wine and my sister and I were happy campers. Would def come back but maybe for happy hour so we could eat more oysters. Otherwise could get pretty pricey!

I came here for the brunch with a scrappy Pittsburgh girl who dresses super well and does whatever the hell she wants (so you know I wasn’t kidding around) and the place was rather delightful.
She had the fish tacos and I had the pâté. It was super delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The servers were also super helpful and friendly. This really feels like your neighborhood eatery that is clean and trendy.
I was also rather amused by the drink options — a manmosa — beer and orange juice, surprisngly tasty — and of course being Brooklyn, they had a local beer variety.
Just be warned you do smell some organic seafood as you enter the place, so if you aren’t a fan of that just go towards the back.

What can I say that hasn’t been said? Incredible food, friendly staff, and great music provide an overall perfect dining experience. I’ve never seen a happier staff of people in any restaurant, so that has to say something. This is one of my favorite date spots in all of Brooklyn, and, although seating is limited, I’ve never had to wait to eat here. I always prefer sitting at the bar because I get to watch the cooks work their magic.
Last night, I went for the lobster roll for the first time. I’ve always been hesitant because at $ 27 it’s more expensive than the Lobster Joint, but I was pleasantly surprised because it was at least 10x better than any of the amazing rolls I’ve had at the Lobster Joint, so that price was very justified. Other things I’d recommend — the fish tacos, the side of brussels sprouts, all of their fresh oyster options, the mussels. Can’t wait to go back.

Amazing seafood! So so good. Bright, clean and unpretentious atmosphere. The only possible downside is that it’s not a good spot for groups. There is also just not a lot of seating in general, because the left side of the restaurant is the seafood counter/​prep area, and the front right side has products has cute products for sale. Other than that, the music was good (there were a few Outkast songs), and the staff was friendly. They seemed to all get along and enjoy working there. The bathroom was spacious, clean, and decorated in a nautical theme, so that’s a plus as well.
My friend and I ordered the fish tacos, the lobster roll, and the spicy thai green curry mussels. The lobster roll is definitely pricey (more expensive than both Lobster Joint and Luke’s Lobster), but it was really good and fresh. Worth $ 27? Maybe not. But I’m a sucker for lobster rolls, so I couldn’t help it. The mussels were the star of our meal though. They were PERFECT. So perfect that we ordered a second round. Really good portion size, too. Highly recommend this place.

Was over in north Brooklyn and needed an oyster happy hour. The only catch was it was 2:30pm. Through semi-​thorough research, Greenpoint Fish & Lobster was the only place that fit the bill, so we hopped in an Über and went over there.
The first thing you’ll notice is a TON of fresh fish in the windows. There’s merch on the right hand side, and a counter on the left in front of the kitchen.
We grabbed some seats at the counter, right by the grill and went to town with some beers and some oysters/​clams. Their dollar oysters of the day were Noank’s from CT, and the dollar clams were from Littleneck. We had a dozen of each among the three of us, which was a good amount of post-​lunch snack. The Noank’s were nice, clean with some salinity. The Littleneck clams were about as good as I’ve had elsewhere.
We didn’t have any hot food, but we watched a lot of it get made and it all looked awesome. The fish tacos and the fish collar in particular tempted us, but we didn’t want to further spoil our appetites. They have daily catches for each of their main entrees, which they list with easy-​to-​change magnet letters above the grill. Doesn’t get fresher than that.
I also had a Michelada which was pretty well made. Bartender/​waitress was cool and didn’t take no guff. They played good 80s music, but it broke our hearts to learn it was just a Pandora station. They also let me charge my phone, so there’s that.

Finally! I’m super happy that a place like his finally opened up in the neighborhood. I love to make fish for dinner and normally I had to bring it from the city but now I just walk 3 blocks.
The seafood is amazing– very fresh! The prices are great not to expensive. Get in early sometimes there’s a line.
I love this place– when I get a chance I’m going to eat there as well for right now I over the market

Met a friend here for oysters on a Friday night – I didn’t realize how tiny it is, with counter seating and a few bar tables along the wall, but we missed the dinner rush and didn’t have to wait long to be seated (got seated at the bar). I loved the clean nautical feel and how open the place felt.
We had a variety of oysters and I got the fish tacos – the fish used in them changes based on the catch of the day, which I thought was cool. We shared oysters and my only issue was that I couldn’t tell what I had ordered and what my friend ordered, but we ate them all. The oysters were very fresh, and the fish tacos crisp and filling. The guys working behind the counter were fun to chat with and offered great suggestions. Prices are on the higher side but for fresh fish it’s worth it – might be a treat yourself kind of dinner night.

4.5 stars for the fish counter. I purchased 2 softshell crabs for 5 bucks each. The diversity in offerings was impressive for the counter of diminutive size. The fish selections looked fresh, and the counter looked clean and well maintained. The softshells were wrapped in paper, and soaked through the paper bag they gave us — a slight detractor to the eco-​friendly packaging. There is a time and place for plastic, after all.
BF and I also sat down for a meal at the back counter, in view of the open kitchen. We tried the Brussels sprouts, fish skewers (monkfish) and the rice bowl with squid.
Generally, ok but not amazing. The baby squid spent a good 10 minutes on the grill — way too long, and the whole time I sat, obsessively watching them cooking away, shriveling, and drying out. Indeed, they were too tough as well as overseasoned. The Brussels were good, though a touch too overcooked as well. I enjoyed the dressing they were tossed in. The monkfish too, was a touch overcooked, with blackened char on parts of it. The peanut dressing was flavorful and the cucumber garnish was tasty.
The waitress was a bit handsy during our interaction. I just don’t like to be touched on my back or shoulder by strangers, especially when sober.
I’d give 3 stars for the dining experience.
I’d definitely come back for the fish counter if in the neighborhood. I would not return for the dining.

This place is cool, it has a nice-​minimal-​navy décor.
Service was also great. My boyfriend ended up getting more smoked salmon to add to his bagel for free since the waitress thought that the initial amount of salmon on the bagel was not enough.
Everything was fine until I got home two hours later and started feeling sick. Very sick. I was food poisoning from the lobster roll I got at this fish market. It was the only thing I ate yesterday so it had to be that. Probably it wasn’t the lobster itself but the mayo.
It was a shame since my whole experience was great until I start feeling stomach cramps and throwing up. When you pay $ 25 for a lobster roll, at least you expect to get food that is not contaminated.

Seafood craving… satiated!
If you are a seafood lover, this is a delicious, friendly place to go. The most famous dishes are the crudo, the fish tacos and the lobster roll. I tried oysters for starters, the salmon crudo, the collar, the grilled fish tacos, and the lobster roll. Here is the breakdown:
Crudo (appetizer, $ 9): as the name translates, «raw», it’s exactly what is it; Crudo thin salmon slices marinated in light olive oil and salt. simple, fresh and tasty.
The collar (appetizer, $ 12): this is a MUST HAVE! The fish is extremely well seasoned, very tasty, & leaves you wanting more. The skin is a bit salty and was pan fried so you feel the difference in texture (this is the fatty piece so if you are thinking healthy, peel it off and eat the rest).
Fish Tacos (entreé): had them grilled instead of fried. This is one dish I could have done without. It was good… however, not comparable to the other dishes!
Lobster Roll (Entrée, $ 25): TDF! (To Die For). It was incredibly delicious. It was perfectly marinated, had celery chunks, the sauce was not overbearing, you can taste the freshness of the fish. If all you have is $ 25 to spend, you will not go wrong with this!
The service was great, the staff is very friendly. There was rap playing in the background, if its not your cup of tea… put headphones and enjoy the food… it’s worth it!

I’d give it 3 and a half stars, but since Unilocal won’t allow it, I rounded down as requested by my sister. I actually enjoyed my food and the customer service was great. Despite all this, the dinner was not worth the amount of money we paid.
Ambiance: nice, fresh, and modern; however, very crammed. I felt like I was on a blind date with the people sitting next to us.
What we got:
Brussel sprouts– I don’t normally eat vegetables but these were pretty darn good. I liked the nice char on them and the sauce on top.
Oysters– hard to mess this up. I wasn’t crazy about the sauces provided (cocktail, horseradish, a vinegar type sauce) but the oysters were fresh.
Bluefish pâté– Not great, but not bad. Needed more flavor and found it a bit dry.
Mussels in Thai curry — mussels were cooked perfectly. Sauce was delicious and just the right amount of kick.
Lobster roll– standard. Lacked in flavor according to my sister and super small. Not worth $ 25
Fried fish tacos-​It was fresh and pretty tasty after adding their spicy sauce. I approve!
Con: really expensive. Paid $ 190 (including tip) for all these dishes. I’m not quite sure if I’d come back, simply because I’m frugal. Although the food was pretty good, it wasn’t worth the money we paid for it.

Another great recent addition to the food scene in Greenpoint, Fish & Lobster Co serves up some fresh seafood in deliciously shareable portions.
Between three of us, we indulged in the following bites:
Live Scallop — prepared right before our eager eyes, the buttery-​melty freshness of the scallop is beautifully presented on a half shell with a slice of lemon.
Fish Collar — grilled to perfection, every bite of this lovely salmon collar melts in your mouth with hints of charred skin and fatty fish.
Buffalo Style Fried Oysters — the oysters were perfectly fried, but it’s a shame that buffalo sauce is so strong that it masks the natural goodness of the oyster.
Fish Chowder — served in what tastes like a cream of mushroom base, comes with generous chunks of fish and perfectly cooked potatoes.
Fried Brussels Sprouts — tossed in a ranch dressing to offset the bitterness of the burnt sprouts. Very well balanced and delicious!
Prices are reasonable and service is very friendly! There’s definitely been a recent resurgence of demand for fresh seafood, and this place hits the spot!

I love this place! It’s an unassuming restaurant with a storefront selling seafood, so you can pick up groceries here but also get a quick seafood meal. There was a 20 minute wait for two on a Friday evening, so don’t expected to get seated right away since it is a cozy spot. I decided to get the rice bowl, and the fish of the day happened to be squid.
It was delicious. The squid was well seasoned and broiled with a slight crisp, and there were a bunch of different toppings on the rice bowl — seaweed, fish flakes, mayo, radish, cucumber, and a soft boiled egg. Everything went together perfectly. The fish in the fish tacos were tender and fresh, yet the outside batter was fried to a golden crisp. The roasted brussel sprouts were tossed in a tangy ranch sauce that I kept eating and eating.
I’d definitely make a return trip here for the fresh seafood that’s complemented, and not overwhelmed by other components.

Wonderful and new for the Greenpoint neighborhood. So many choices of fresh seafood– tacos, ceviche, mussels, oysters, etc. They even have fresh fish cut right in front of you to take home. It’s a quaint spot with about 6 seats around a bar and 4 high tables. The lobster roll was one of the best i have had and the cod tacos were tasty too. We started with the hake crudo appetizer, which was a lighter version of salmon. All dishes were simple but very pleasing to the taste buds. They post all the daily seafood options on a blackboard.

I’ve visited Greenpoint Fish & Lobster a few more times since my first trek, and time and time again, they deliver excellent food and service.
The oysters are always amazing and so fresh. They’ve always got an interesting assortment available, and always in a decent (not break the bank) price range.
The fish sandwich is always amazing, huge, rich, with flaky fish. I can usually only finish half. The pad thai is light, with amazing flavors. I am not a fish taco fan, but the lunch and brunch tacos are both amazing. Give them a try. Rus, who considers himself a lobster roll connoisseur, was a fan of their roll… so how could I not be?
And after many months, we finally braved the elements and tried their brunch menu! There was hardly a wait, as we came in after one (after much of the brunch rush). The mimosas were delicious. Was that freshly squeezed OJ? A lil’ pricy for the size of the glass ($ 10), but I wasn’t mad about it. They also have Micheladas.
We got the shrimp and grits and the lobster gravy with potatoes. Both were amazing! The shrimp and grits were served in a giant bowl with four very large shrimp. The tails were nice and crispy, so you could eat the shrimp whole in a few bites. The grits were extremely flavorful, slightly creamy, I couldn’t stop eating them.
I really enjoyed the lobster gravy, it was extremely rich. I just wish it had a bit more lobster in it. The fingerling potatoes were perfect — crispy on the outside, hot and tender inside. This dish was perfect for a chilly Sunday afternoon, and again, the serving was gynormous. No way you can finish this by yourself.
I’m so happy to see that business has taken off for this establishment. There’s no superfluous ingredients, there’s no air of pretentiousness, there’s just amazing seafood, locals, families buying fish to cook at home. Greenpoint Fish & Lobster isn’t just a great restaurant, it’s an establishment that I can see becoming quintessential to Brooklyn… and I love it.

We dined in for a weekday lunch. The space is clean and refreshing. There are some standard dishes on the menu, but will be different daily based on the fish they get that morning. My boyfriend got the fish sandwich (flounder), and I got grilled fish tacos (pollock), with a side of brussel sprouts. Both dishes were so tasty! These guys know their fish and know what they’re doing! Can I describe fish as being juicy? It was just so flavorful, fresh, and the consistency was right on. We washed it all down with a couple of beers. PERFECT LUNCH.
On to the fish market. Beautiful. Fresh catch of the day – their inventory changes every morning depending on what comes in. They have much of it already prepared into filets, but they also set aside some whole fishes in case you want it prepared other ways like steaks, etc. I asked a lot of questions and they were all very helpful and happy to help. We bought a couple mackerel, and I’m absolutely ecstatic to have a source of fresh fish like this close by!
