Our Studio Specializes in Social and Competitive Dancing. We offer a fun and energetic atmosphere where you can improve your current skills or begin your journey into dance. We provide private or group instruction in a variety of dances. Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Rumba, Cha-​Cha, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Samba, Paso Doble, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Shag, Jive.

The Greensboro Fred Astaire Studio is well known for the expertise of its staff, all schooled in Europe and well experienced in international competition. But the studio is also noted for the care that our instructors show to each of their students and the willingness with which they share their love of dance.

History

Established in 2006.

Our great dance heritage began in 1947 when one of the greatest dancers of all time, Mr. Fred Astaire, co-​founded our company. He developed a practical, interrelated dance curriculum that embodied the fundamental principles of good dancing, flavored by his style and grace. Now, over 110 studios spread throughout the United States are teaching the «Fred Astaire way.» Our studios offer all kinds of dance instruction — from ballroom to country western to salsa to nightclub dancing — for all ages and abilities through private, group, and practice lessons.

This location was opened in 2006 and quickly became one of the largest and most successful dance studios in South-​Eastern region.

Meet the Manager

Dasha C.

Manager

Dasha started her dance career at the age of 6 in Kharkiv,

Ukraine, and began competing at the age of 7. At 15 she passed the professional exams for the United Kingdom Dance Alliance and became a teacher at the Dance Studio Sozvezdie, where her students became winners of several national and international tournaments.

In 2005 Dasha graduated from Kharkiv National University with a Master degree in Psychology.

She began her career here at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in New York, and in 2007 moved to Greensboro, where she eventually became studio manager. Dasha is a certified instructor in American style of dance. Throughout her career with Fred Astaire, Dasha has won numerous awards: National Fred Astaire Dance Studios Top Teacher in 2005; Platinum Award, Top Specialist Award, and Platinum Award in 2007; Platinum Award, Top Teacher Overall in 2008. Her students have also won several national awards. Dasha enjoys being a studio manager as well as a dance instructor.
