We look forward to assisting you in creating the perfect event for any occasion. We specialize in boutique weddings and events that expect more from a caterer; including table décor, flower arranging, invitations, etc. We work with the individual style of the event and treat every wedding with the utmost attention. Whenever possible we use fresh and local products and make all our own sauces and dressings. In preparing everything from scratch it is easy to provide special menus and ethnic dishes. Complimentary tastings are always available.

History

Established in 2011.

MJ’s is a local family owned and operated restaurant inspired and influenced by family, friends, and great food. Tad and Rachel Engstrom and Bill and Mindy Calvin are the owners and the restaurant is named after their daughters and granddaughters Madelyn and Julianna. Tad is the Executive Chef and Mindy is the Special Events and Catering Coordinator. We have been blessed with a wonderful staff that we consider part of the MJ’s family. Our in house Executive Chef Tad Engstrom has been trained at the New England Culinary Institute, receiving onsite experience in some of the top resorts in the US, including Boca Raton, FL. Since moving to Greensboro he has worked as the Sous-​Chef at the restaurant ‘223 Elm Street’ and also as the Executive Chef for ‘Sweet Basil’s Restaurant’. He has recently had the opportunity to work and train with world renowned chef Wolfgang Puck, at his restaurant Spago, in Beverly Hills, CA. Our chef has extensive experience with doing on-​site and off-​site event catering. In meeting with you, we will customize our menu to you and your special event.
