This is a good quick lunch joint. Typical Mongolian BBQ format. The meat options are fewer than what I am used to but they had chicken so I was good. I did go there for dinner and they added a few more meats including shrimp and sausage. They also have a soup and desert side bar which was nice. The inside is a little dated as far as tables and seating go and the booths are not very comfortable. The staff was very friendly. Bare in mind this is Mongolian BBQ so the expectation with regards to taste isn’t very high to begin with. That being said it was pretty tasty. This is a great value for lunch and dinner considering it’s all you can eat for under $ 10.00.

Enjoyed their fresh and a variety of selection for vegi & meat. For meat selection, they have thinly sliced beef, pork, chicken, and turkey. It is a buffet style and you get to pick your own mix of vegi, meat, and sauces. Then they will grill your dish for you. They also have a few dessert items and rice and soup.

At first glance, Mongolian Empire seems to be a fairly run of the mill all-you-can-eat Mongolian grill restaurant. A deeper examination shows that they are culinary geniuses. Pick a bowl of raw ingredients, add sauces, and then watch them cook it right in front of you. The sauce selection is as diverse as I like, and the raw ingredients selection is competitive with similar places in the lower price range. Rather than cooking multiple stacks of food at once, the master chefs play loop the loop around the grill with only two stacks of food. This is downright silly, and it causes very long lines to form. To make matters worse, these culinary geniuses heat the grill with water instead of oil. Know a surefire way to separate the sauce from the ingredients? This method. Personally, I prefer my food to be very flavorful, but that might be too antiquated of a cooking method. Even though they only cook two plates at a time, the top chefs here somehow managed to burn both my plate and my friend’s plate. My second plate was less burnt, but Mongolian Empire’s innovative cooking method ensured that it would remain impossibly bland. 1.5 stars — Mongolian Empire is a deep avantgarde expression of culinary genius that I cannot fully appreciate with my feeble mind. Or, it’s a rather poor restaurant with the price being the only redeeming quality. A good selection of sauces and ingredients are nullified by some truly puzzling practices. Mongolian Empire represents yet another weak link in an overall weak food scene.

We have been coming here for years, it’s great. The owner is friendly, the staff very accomodating, and the food is fresh and delicious. There have been other Mongolian spots around here, but this is the original and the best.

Food is good and our server was very attentive. However I left very displeased and probably will never return again. There were two of us at dinner and we made only ONE trip to the buffet. The bowls they use are large and we both had leftovers. We asked if we could pay for a takeout box knowing that you can not take food home from a buffet. Instead of the lady(I am assuming she was the owner) charging us the $ 6 fee and adding that to our bill which I would of been happy to pay she weighed our leftovers and charged us $ 6 per pound putting another $ 15 on our bill when we just paid for two meals. It was a cheap move by the owner and was extremely rude in my opinion. Needless to say we will not be back. The food would of been thrown away and instead of us having them throw it away we were going to give them $ 6 just to take it home, but she got greedy and lost two customers tonight.

Loved this place, especially considering I was very disappointed by my first experience at a Mongolian grill on account of hu hot. You can’t beat the Lunch menu price and they offer soups and desserts as part of the buffet along with all you can eat hibachi cooked in front of you from whatever ingredients you pick. Will definitely be coming back again.

I’m copying and pasting my original review, as when I tried to do this before the name was listed incorrectly(under Mongolian House). So here is what I had to say about them on 6÷8÷12: Having a recent sad experience with HuHot, this was a welcome relief. Maybe their chefs need to take a field trip to Mongolian Empire to learn the proper use of a disk grill. Thank you for a fabulous experience, and I will return. The chefs know what they’re doing, the selections are basic and excellent, and the rice is serve yourself(rather than ONE complimentary bowl like HuHot) — brown or white, your choice. The egg drop soup is to be complimented, and the noodles stay crisp even sitting in the soup a while. The sesame flatbread is traditional and very good(also serve yourself). The servers are on the job, polite and helpful without hovering. It was comfortably quiet and relaxing. The price is also lower than. yeah, them. For 2 people w/drinks was about $ 22. If you’re looking for authenticity, forget the new & trendy. try here instead.

Fairly tasty. You grab a bowl and add whatever you’d like: noodles, a variety of veggies(baby corn, green peppers, carrots, tomato, bean sprouts, mushrooms) and your selection of meats(chicken, beef or pork in thin slices) or seafood(shrimp) and a ladle in variety of sauces(bbq, garlic, sweet and sour, sugar, chilli, lemon). You then pass your bowl to the cooks who stir the ingredient around on a huge hot plate. For those with food allergies– probably not the best choice to go to(or order off the menu instead). If you don’t like spicy make sure you ask them to wipe down the grill. There’s a small soup bar with hot and sour or egg drop soup, and some rice and puff bread sticks. Save room for the dessert bar with chocolate pudding, little cake squares, palmiers butter cookies, jello. They carry a variety of drinks from sodas, teas to domestic and imported beers. It’s a $ 10 dinner buffet, so its rather reasonable.
