History

Established in 1846.

Fred D. Knapp & son Funeral Home has been family owned through its existence. Originally opened by the Isaac Mead Family in 1846, then transferred to the Business partner of many years Fred D. Knapp and his son and Grandson Fred H. Knapp and J. Edward Knapp. J. Edward Knapp sold part of the business to Richard Slagle and they both sold their parts to the current owner Matthew K. Murphy. The build still remains in the Heart of Greenwich where it was built in 1906.
