Arnold R.
Business Owner
Arnold Rutkin and partner Sarah Oldham litigated the landmark case Wendt v. Wendt, which established legal precedents on how courts review financial arrangements in marriages — especially when corporate employment assets are involved.
Arnold was instrumental in the passage of a 2005 statute that authorized binding arbitration in divorces. He introduced the bill through the Connecticut Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and testified before the Connecticut legislature. As a member of the executive committee of the Connecticut Bar Association, Arnold testified at a state public hearing on House Bill 5536, titled An Act Concerning the Relocation of Parents Having Custody of Minor Children. The 2006 statute requires the relocating parent to prove that relocation is in the best interest of the child.
In addition, Arnold serves as a special master for family matters in the Connecticut court system.
