For the price, this is a great hotel. I was pretty surprised! Stayed overnight & felt safe & clean. I mean, I couldn’t pick out any GREAT things about the hotel, but there was nothing too bad either. Bare bones & quite small. I don’t even feel like two smaller beds could fit in there instead of the King. The ‘nightstands’ were teeny shelves connected to the headboard/light. So no lamp or nightstand… small. We got the least expensive type of room & it came with good cable & a fridge/microwave. Breakfast was coffee/juice & pastries to go. Washcloths were a bit yellow, but bed sheets & everything were nice. I liked that there was no carpet, just a nice clean floor. Our air conditioning was very noisy, I think some people would’ve been disturbed by that, but I sleep easily, so it didn’t bug me. I didn’t have complaints, but I feel like if I had(like for the AC), staff would have been helpful. They were approachable & friendly. Also, definitely agree with the other reviewers– bed was suuuuuper squeaky! Comfortable, though.

It’s all about expectations. Coming into town for a family event, I did not expect much, maybe that’s the key to being impressed? This location is newly renovated with laminate floors in the room(why has it taken so long for this to catch on?!), fridge, microwave, and everything else you’d need. Apparently there’s also a pool?! I missed that memo at check in. There is a ‘continental breakfast’ offered of prepackaged 500 calorie pastries and coffee, but there’s also a Bob Evans sharing the parking lot next door. For something in this price point, the facility was well located, with amenities close by, safe, parking was safe, the staff were helpful, the room was clean and updated, wifi was free, and it was pretty quiet. I also got a nice discount by booking from my ipad-they offered a ‘mobile discount’ that didn’t appear on my laptop. #protip

I am impressed with the improvements taking place at this Red Roof Inn. I’ve stayed twice recently for a few days each time. The beds are comfortable and clean. The towels are clean. Paint schemes are nice and soothing. The tables and counters seem well cleaned. The shower has been repainted. The water pressure is good. Toilet is clean. Downsides are about the floors. The new design is floating laminate flooring in wood patterns, carpet inserts are under the beds, and surround the beds by about a foot, so your feet are able to meet with soft warm surface, before being on the hard cold laminate surface. I’ve enjoyed this feature in other budget hotels that are updating the rooms. I think it’s a new requirement of the health department for hotels. I always assume carpet and bedspreads are infested with the biological and simply gross outside mess on shoes and other waste of previous guests. I don’t want myself and my stuff coming into direct contact with those floors and all horizontal surfaces. I stay on the ground floor usually. It’s winter time. Life gets very muddy. I’m sure if I have trouble keeping up with cleaning mud in my living spaces, a hotel has to put in very much more effort. I spilled my soft drink on the floor, grabbed a nice white towel and mopped up the spill. The towel came up nearly blackened with dirt. I am on my way now to find some sandals to wear around the room. Who knows where that dirt came from? The shower floor is also very stained with the black dirt. I think I’ll get a pair of sandals to wear in the shower. The pretty white and decorated ceiling in the bathroom should be completely scraped and treated for black mold. The mold is breaking through the ceiling paint and drywall mud. They might have to remove the ceiling drywall altogether and start over. There is a vent fan, but I wonder if it is vented properly. I will continue to stay in this hotel. I have my dog, for whom there is no extra fee. I usually register through Trip Advisor. That’s the best way to lock in an advertised rate. I did not do that this time, so I got up-charged for a ground floor room with double king with super-duper amenities. High speed internet is available, but I didn’t bring my Ethernet cable. Free wifi is available, and is just fine. Keep in mind, it’s a budget hotel. The staff are nice folks, very responsive to requests, concerned that you have a good stay. I’m grateful for a place to stay that I can afford.

The bed was pretty stiff, not overly comfortable but not the worst I’ve ever slept in. The shower of the hotel was the real star, however. Some hotels have really poor water temperature or weak water pressure. This one had neither and was one of the better showers I’ve ever had in a hotel! In terms of location, this is just barely close enough to be worth staying at if you are going to be going into Indy. But if you do this to save $ 20 it isn’t worth it. So book closer if the cost savings isn’t well over $ 20. Note on price: we booked through Hotwire and got a great rate, but the location sucked. If you’re booking in Indy and choose the south side and see a huge jut south in the map area, this is probably where you’ll end up!

After a long day of driving, I decided to pull over and get a room. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked my room. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If all you need is a clean room for a good night of rest, I recommend for the price. Recently renovated, clean, great value!

This place is effing disgusting. It’s apparent that parts of this facility have been reno’d within the last few years, but a lobby that smells like vomit is a lobby that smells like vomit. And human(I assume) excrement wiped on the bathroom door jamb, is… well, you get the point. In addition to the poo, it was clear that at some point in recent history, the bathroom had experienced a flood that had not been properly cleaned /repaired, due to remaining residue on the tile(a couple of inches up the walls). Towels were filthy and threadbare, but folded nicely. The two pillows were categorically not anything that qualifies as actual pillows. And the two stinky, rubber-sided, foot funk runners on either side of the bed are quite possibly the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen, design-wise in a hotel, ever. And I’ve traveled fairly extensively in third world countries(including a fair number of ‘squat toilet’ locales). At least the laminate floor looked clean — those things — **shiver**, too gross: visibly filthy, smelling worse than a troop of Boy Scouts on day 9-backward, inside-out, backwards, inside out, backward, inside out, on an overnight trip. Air conditioner only managed to distract somewhat from the road noise and leave the room dripping wet. Curtain is too small and mounted too low to do much to block out street light or noise. The cubbies /drawers /desk area /minifridge /microwave was well-appointed and designed for a small space. Unfortunately, in this cesspool, I didn’t want to touch anything I didn’t have to. Don’t know, don’t care whether this place has just gone downhill. Unless you travel with your own hazmat suits, my recommendation is to find someplace else.
