Opening up a business account with Joshua, the so-called business banking specialist, at this branch is an exercise in frustration and futility. I wasted three trips to this branch before I finally gave up on Joshua. Joshua told me it would take anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours for him to open up a simple corporate bank account for me. He told me that it had something to do with«terrorism«and«knowing your customer». When I reminded him that I have been an existing customer, in good standing, of his branch, with both a corporate and personal account, for about five years, he just repeated himself. I ended up going to the Greshem branch of Chase, about a quarter-mile away, and they opened my corporate account in about 40 minutes. When I brought up the frustrating experiences that I had to add with Joshua of the East Gresham branch, they told me that they have had several complaints about him from other customers.

Horrible experience opening an account, the bank was understaffed. At the time, only Joshua could open an account and he was busy. I had to come back half of an hour later, on top of that Joshua L. B. took 1 hour to open the account trying to be a «professional» not a real person. He had to spell out all the small print to me and continued after I told him that I can read the supplied paperwork which is very well designed. Very slow banker, I’ve opened business accounts four times faster. I guess everyone needs job security.

Chase as a bank is great! I have been with them as a customer for about 2 years and joined up right after they converted all Washington Mutuals. Chase has great perks and wonderful rewards programs. Overall I am happy as a Chase customer. As for this particular branch though I am not so pleased. They always seem to be understaffed. I have had to visit this location a few times and each time I have been met with answers that end up with me having to leave and promised a call back. The kicker? Nobody ever calls me back and I have to go back in to the branch. Again. When I have other, more important things to do/take care of. Thankfully I can do most of what I need via my iPhone/iPad Chase app and through telephone banking. If you have to go in though, I suggest the Chase branch in Fred Meyer in Wood Village.
