Excellent!!! Awesome selection of beer and wine and good prices. A myriad of fresh kegs on tap for growler fills. Don’t forget to check out the hot sauce isle as well. I love this place and will never buy my beverages at a chain C-​store or national mega food chain conglomerate again.

Awesome selection of beer and wine. Nice place to go to fill up a growler or just look at everything they have to offer. Knowledgable staff and helpful when you just dont know what to get. Plus my kid got a taste of kombucha on tap which he thought was cool. Highly recommend for a local beer/​wine enthousiest.

Love this place! Great selection of local and imported beer. They have cellar beers which I enjoy browsing very much. They get in new selection often. Next I need to explore there growler fill selection. The owner is great and knowledgable. Everyone should check this spot out!

You love beer get your ass down here and don’t forget your growler. Don’t worry if you forget it he also cans your favorite beers on tap in a 32oz can to take home. Amazing beer selection every time we come here we wonder around and find something new or an old favorite. Makes me thirsty just thinking about it. Cheers!

Charlie is awesome. great attitude. great prices. small town feel to the place. I moved away but still stop by when in the area just to say hi and buy a beer.

This place rules, the owner is really cool about letting you sample beers and answering questions, he will even can a fresh beer off of the tap for you if you don’t have a growler or want to buy one.
And the selection is incredible, they literally have EVERYTHING.

MANY beers to choose from! You can order kegs, special-​order beers, request they carry certain types, etc…
The owner is friendly and helpful.
The prices are good.
They have a tap-​room/​growler fill area.
They need a better lay-​out, though. If it were my store, I would put newer items or specialty beers/​promotions upfront.
I would ALSO have a mailing list to send out promotions and ACTUALLY offer a monthly promotion/​sale of some sort on beer, wine, growler fill… something — anything!
Overall, I really like this shop and would recommend to anyone wanting to buy the «special» beer.

It’s a warehouse/​mercado sort of place, with a sign that twists the feel of the neighborhood a notch funkier. The breadth of the beer selection took my breath away! This place is cool. They all sell tobacco and various other paraphernalia.

The only reason I walked in here the other day is because of Unilocal and the photos I saw. Looking at the storefront you would never know what kinds of amazing treasures you will find inside! I assumed that it would be just one of those tacky discount stores that have good deals on cartons of cigarettes and cheap plastic trinkets made in China mixed in with some awful crap beer like Hamms and big bottles of Ripple or some such wine. Au contraire mon amis!
I found myself walking down all the aisles in wonder and disbelief. A bazillion bottles of beer on the walls. or I should say on the shelves. and most of them are microbrews! They’ve also got some Belgian ales and other beers from other countries too. It was truly overwhelming. They have a lot of different wines and I managed to find some decent Chardonnay from 2 of our local wineries. Best of all — «cheap».
I spoke to the younger Asian couple (with their brand new baby nearby) and found out they’ve been here for 2 years. And I’ve been ignoring the place all that time! WTH! Not anymore. I explained to him that I did not expect to see all these amazing beer choices. The father told me about his dad and how he still digs his Hamms as that’s what got him through the Vietnam war. I then started thinking about why they call this place Cheap «Charlie’s». not sure if the reference is accurate but it seems to fit quite well.
I made out of there with 2 bottles of Chard and a bottle of IPA for under $ 25.00! This Charlie will be back for sure!

Great customer service & wide selection of drinks. I don’t drink alcohol but I’ve never seen such a selection of beer! There’s less snacks than I thought there would be but I don’t think that’s primarily what their selling point is! Cheaper prices in town & they also sell cheap vapor juice ($ 4.75) in a wide variety. Be prepared to be greeted by their smiling little boy who tries to snag snacks by the register. They’re also willing to place special orders. I highly recommend this little family owned establishment! Two thumbs up!

Amazing variety and selection. Nearly +1000 types of beer and ciders along with a tap with 20 more beers to fill growlers or try as a sample. If you are out this way along Main Street then please check this place out. The prices are incredibly fair and you can always find something new. My favorite bottle shop east of Portland!

Outstanding selection of beer and wine. Up there with John’s Market and other similar bottle-​shops.
Whenever I am looking for something specific, I make sure to stop by and check here. I have had luck many times.
Periodically when I stop in they offer tastings of wine or beer by someone from a local brewery or vineyard. Nice addition.
Will definitely return.

I believe I’ve mentioned in previous reviews that my husband and I are beer geeks to the hard core. We brew, collect and drink the yummy ales and lagers and so beervana suits us. Then we moved to the burbs, which was initially a quandary for our hobby. Luckily, we’ve discovered nice little pockets of brewtopia in the ‘Ham…like Charlie’s. It’s a well-​stocked bottle shop and the owner is a delightful fellow beek. We can usually find what we’re after without having to trek into Belmont Station, between Charlie’s and The Hoppy Brewer just three blocks away. He has a few taps too, for growler filling. The only caution is to check bottle dates when possible. Some items do sit for awhile, but that’s in any beer store. Overall, we are happy to part with our hard-​earned cashola for quality beers at Charlies.

Fabulous selection — no frills. Fun tastings from time to time.
My personal recommendation is the «Wells» banana bread beer… it is in the cooler. Not kidding this beer is really good… men liked it too lol.
There is also voodoo doughnuts flavored beers by rouge brewery… which to date I have not tried myself… but have never heard good things about… so don’t get sidetracked by it lol. try the wells or at least try them both.
Your first time here you will already be planning for your next time.

Best beer and wine selection I’ve found in Portland area. It’s a bit far if you aren’t out east but it is worth a stop if you are passing thru Gresham. Personally, this will be worth a monthly trip to stock up on my favorite beers.
The selection is broad and deep. I could find all of the brands and styles I enjoy, including the full offering from Oskar Blues and Paulaner (my faves). They have many, many hundreds of beers in stock, maybe over a thousand. They also have a gigantic wine selection. If you can’t find what you want, ask the owner. He’ll help you find it or order it for the store. He said about half of the selection are his choices and the rest is a growing list of customer requests. Considering the vast selection they stock, the prices are great and the same or cheaper than you would find elsewhere. This store is worth a visit if you are looking to explore new beers or searching for your favorite brew that can’t be found anywhere else.

Huge selection. With several beers, ales, etc., Cheap Charlie’s is the only place near around Portland to source them. Example: several of Fuller’s English ales are regularly in stock in good quantity.
Clean and well managed shop. Very helpful staff. They can order what you wish an in most cases it will come in their weekly order.
