Let me just say that I’m kind of the new Kid on the block around 5 Cities. With that said, I relied on social media to search out a good OLD SKOOOL, full service Barber Shop. I’m going to say it like this — I chose Barber Guild because of the awesome reviews they had and the shot of Jack upon check in was a welcome treat. Not to mention, I got to help myself to a cold beer from the lil fridge that sat nicely next to the flat screen playing some bad ass action movie quietly in the background. Jesus called me up to have a seat in a amazing rustic, but fully functioning nostalgic barber chair that was very comfortable. No really — Jesus cut my hair — I was seriously impressed by this master barbers attention to detail. Jesus was serious about the task at hand and I could not appreciate that more! I wasn’t there for conversation and I liked the fact that it organically happened. I hadn’t shaved in a couple days and I decided after a few mins in the chair to ask if I could possibly get an old fashioned shave. I won’t go on and on, but Damn — I came home going on and on about this whole experience to my wife and she Quickly was in awe of my amazingly shaved and soft face. I’ve been shaving my own face for many years and this was a treat like no other. Jesus used some TOP Notch products that are exclusive to their shop. «LET REGIMEN». Wow amazing hand made local stuff. I will be using all their products going forward. In closing, I will be making this place my once a week rescue from life’s stresses. The entire staff are making this place a great find. They treated me like a king. Thank you for reading and hope this place continues their top notch service. Go see these guys and ask for Jesus, he is a MASTER at his profession.

finally a barbershop that’s consistent. I usually get my cut from Jesse, but they’re all top tier. Never a missed strand or a dull line. If you are tryna get fresh this is the only place to go. Plus they give out free beer while you wait and bullshit about sports.

This place rocks! I was looking for a place to get a good beard trim. Jesus took me in right away and did a great job! I will be back for sure.

I just had my first haircut at Barber Guild, and it was a thoroughly delightful experience that exceeded my expectations. I showed up only 15 minutes before closing time, and Jesus gave me a meticulous haircut with tremendous attention to detail. He worked on me for nearly 45 minutes. Each time I thought he was done, he found some other little detail that he felt needed doing. They haircut ended with a shoulder and neck massage that felt so good I didn’t want him to stop. With the senior discount, the price for all this was embarrassingly low ($ 14), and I gave Jesus a 50% gratuity. In the immortal words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, «I’ll be back!»

Not to bad. A little awkward at first like any new shop. I have really been looking for a great barber to go to on a regular basis. Jesus took me right in and ask what I wanted and he got to cutting. He charged me 16 and I paid him 25. When I got in the car I notice my left sideburn was shaved clean which was not ok with me. He left my right side alone which grew into my beard. I may be back.

Horrible service, what the point of rig first of the barbers pick and choose customers … I’ll rather shave with broker shard of glass … Do a better job … Hacks

Yes these guys give a good haircut. However, their shop isn’t for kids. Free beer sign on the fridge, playing violent R rated movies in the waiting area, playboy magazines? Have a little more professionalism. You are running a haircut ting business that should be welcoming to everyone.

I had taken my son to another place in the village and they butchered his hair. It was terrible and there wasn’t much left to work with because it was super short on the sides and cut up super high. We walked in here the next day and I am so glad we did! They were all very chill and friendly. I felt comfortable right away. The best part is my son walked out with a great cut. I’m VERY particular when it comes to his hair. I didn’t think anyone was going to be able to fix it and actually have it look good until it grew out, but he looks great. Carl did a great job. I know that it will be even better once there is enough hair on his head for them to actually do more with.

What an ecletic place! Brother was having a wedding nearby in wine country. Four of us groomsmen went for a strait razor shave. They offered beers to those that wanted, or a shot of Jack after the shave. Man time. The shave itself was incredibly relaxing despite having a razor to your neck. After all the hot towels, witch hazel, and clean up, rising from supine position to chair in that classic barber seat, the world feels a little different. Makes you feel a little bit more like a classic gentleman, but a man’s man, who’s about to shoot some whiskey.

The absolute best service, at any price, for not only an old school Vintage-​style Barbershop, but with a meticulous precise cut, hot foam neck shave, neck/​shoulder massage, & free beer or refreshment to boot.
From being a kid in Brooklyn to having lived or passed thru many places in the US & the world, I had NEVER experienced such a great place, except for maybe the great Thai lady hairstylists in Honolulu.
I do not know why but this place felt like what a «Chucky Cheese Barbershop» for mature dudes should feel like, while still making my wife feel totally comfortable sitting on a old school coach. My wife, for the first time in our lives did NOT once give her 2¢ to the Master Barber, since he exuded such an aura of quiet, proud (but humble) confidence, professionalism, & skill that anyone could sense.
The Master Barber was the Barber equivalent to some of the best Neurosurgeons that I have ever met. Rather than waste his time with small talk, he cut your hair, shaved your neck, & massaged, with utmost skill & concentration. Despite having one of their complimentary beers, it was a Zen-​like experience (and I used to do Zazen & temple mind-​walking in the remote past).
The Master Barber really knew how to deal with us more mature guys who happen to have crappy thin gray hair on top & other unsightly hair growing on other unwanted places on your head.
This place really felt like it should be made a historical landmark, with all the Vintage old-​style Barbershop chairs & trappings. This place was so cool that I felt almost unworthy of being there.
This place, the masterful professional service, really made my day. After leaving Honolulu, over a decade ago, I had never been pleased with any of the many «fancy» pretentious hairstyle places, that I had wasted tons of good money until accidentally stumbling upon this unique venue.
In the past, out of shear frustration, I had purchase & used costly professional haircut equipment for us to use at home, but now I only use it for a trim since now wify refuses to cut my hair since I kept nagging her to try not to accidentally snip off an ear or two. I do not go for the Van Gogh look LOL. Anyway, she became so sick of my paranoid complaining that she now generally refuses
At only $ 16 plus a free beer, I felt that somehow it was «robbery» to not leave over a 50% tip…
Especially, for such a transcendental one-​of-​a-​kind haircut experience!

Best barbershop in the area hands down! Quite possibly the best barbershop in the US. You get 2 free PBR’s and a shot of jack. Hot foam and straight razor. Great Barbers!!! I’m here every week, love this place. You couldn’t pay me enough to go somewhere else. Come by and get lined up, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!

I come for the «total-​shave» (head and face, with a straight razor). Between the pre, and post skin treatment, the smooth shave, and the shoulder massage after it’s all done… I don’t know how I could justify not spending the $ 30!
They’re also great with my 4-​year old son, who HATED getting his hair cut before I took him here. He feels comfortable with the barbers, and always asks me «can I have the ‘tall guy with tattoos’ do my hair». I think it’s cool that he can go to a place where the staff looks like myself and my friends.

old school barbershop; excellent cuts and free beer in the fridge! Used to go to Bob’s Barbershop in SLO and was sad to not find a replacement when Bob semi-​retired, until this place.

These guys are REAL barbers! It’s by far one of the best cuts I’ve had in a long time. For only $ 16, I got a cut, a razor shave cleanup, and a quick shoulder massage. These guys are undercharging so I had to hook my barber up with a fat tip. The décor, chairs and posters are oldschool and make this place feel like a true barbershop. Only downer was they don’t accept credit/​debit… but then again I did say they keep it oldschool so cash only LOL.

This is the most male place I have ever been in (even though there are female barber’s). These fellas know what they are doing and were super kind, patient and professional with my grandson. They treated him like a man (and though only 2, he acted like one).
For the grownups there is free beer, playboy magazines in brail and many macho jibs and jokes. My husband and son’s love going here. They treat the customers with respect and do a fantastic job at cutting and shaving. If you are a fellow in the area, you must go try this amazing Barbara Shop.
